Chapter 3 - Chapter No.2: - Through the Sky.

In three days later, Simon body recovered and was discharged from the hospital, after which he started his school again.

Past life was not good to him when it comes to his grades as it was always below average and above failing marks, yet in this new world that knowledge was useless in this world where surviving was important.

While he was attending classes, time slowing passed.

3th of April arrived in the blink of an eye.

Just as the evening classes were going to end, the headmaster walked in.

"All children be silent; I have very important announcement.

We all know that the Astral trial will begin tomorrow. I believe all of you are looking forward to it, but I would like to remind everyone not to except and place too much hope in it.

The chances of an Astral lord appearing is one in few thousands.

Hence, for the vast majority of us, its just walk, so do not deviate from our goal, which is to pass the college entrance exams.

So, do you understand?"

He said has he looked around the class.

"Yes, Sir!"

Every one answered loudly, but the hope that was burning in their eyes and their heart said something else.

Headmaster cannot help but sigh.

What could he do, Astral lord represented the top of the world.

Any normal human will wish to be on top but not everyone could.

Becoming Astral lord was shortest and most efficient path to the top.

Early next morning, the school ground was filled with students, as all the third years student of all high schools in Riverstone base city was present.

"Oi, Simon I'm nervous!"

Simon's good friend, Ivan Tarnell was nervous, as he fidgeted with is hands.

Ivan was from an ordinary family background; he was easy-going and righteous.

So, he got along with Simon, and their relationship was great.

"Ivan, chill. If you are fated for greatness, then you will get it no matter what.

And if you're not then nothing will matter." Simon comforted him.

Even when he was comforting him, Simon also was nervous as hell.

Because it was the moment that determined one's fate.

"Simon, you are just too calm."

When the hour hand hit nine on the clock everyone felt uneasy, as headmaster, as well as other school teacher escorted a group of people up the stage on the school ground.

Some of the carried some instruments and placed them on the prepared table.

As everyone settle down on the stage, the headmaster looked at the sea of students as he walked to the podium, his voice loud.

"Good morning, Student, let us welcome our important guest with warn applause, Manager of the WoodLong Astral agency Riverstone Branch, Mister Mark Wilson and his team."

WoodLong Astral agency was one of the top 500 agencies in world and its branches covered many base cities in the world. It was also considered strong in the Riverstone Base city.

And to be the manager of Riverstone Base city branch, Mark Wilson was definitely an Astral lord himself.

"Greeting, Students"

Mark Wilson gave the student a single greeting and the trails officially began.

The testing equipment was a large machine which had floating helmet in the middle connected big supercomputer.

With the guidance of WoodLong's staff, student put on the helmets on and started their trails.

"Are this device to test if someone has Astral Talents? They should be expensive."

"Yes, they are, some say that if one wants to buy one for themselves, they need to pay at least 1 billion credits"

Student talked around themselves as the trail continued.

Ten students entered the machine at a time.

Next moment, all the ten students screamed together like their life was at danger.

Then the helmet lose itself for the student as they fell own their knee some were crying, their faces showed despair, on the other hand some showed excitement…

Expressions were varying but all of it was extreme.

Simon was secretly amazed. Wondering what the machine was doing to them.

But only those with nature talent would awaken. For other that did not have any talent for Astral energy will not.

"I wonder if any of them have Astral skill?"

Simon watched the ten students carefully trying to notice any change.

Other students were nervously holding their hands.

Unknowingly, a minute passed, and aside from the screaming of ten students they did not show any others abnormality.

"They have no talent!" like a gavel hitting down Mark Wilson voice shook all the student and also sealing the ten students dream with them.

Under his command the staffs moved, removing the students from the platform and readied the machine for next batch.

"Next batch"

Students were shocked and depressed seeing none of the ten students awaken, before they were optimistic knowing they had chance of awakening, becoming 1 in 10,000 but their dreams were shattered seeing these students.

Understanding that becoming 1 in 10,000 was near impossible as there were 532 students present and becoming that one lucky person was approximately 0.0000522.

On the other hand, Teachers were long accustomed to this, as there were only handful of people that can awaken to start with and in the previous years.

In fact, the number of students that awakened can be counted in two hands from the day the school started, in some years there would be none.

"Next batch"

"Next batch"

"Next batch…."

As the sun rose, students waited nervously under the scorching sun.

When the sun was at its highest, ten class have completed their trail, in which none have awakened an Astral skill.

Seeing these many students gradually despaired.

"Damn, the probability is just too low!"

Simon cursed under his breath. Even his confidence as the reincarnated main character was wavering, seeing not one person has awakened in ten classes worth of students.

"Simon, I think it's our turn next!"
