At nine-thirty, Meng Junzhu went room to room to check attendance.
Yan Lu and Gao Yuyue barely made it in time.
Shen You'an had already gone to sleep.
Not wanting to disturb her, Meng Junzhu decided against calling her and instructed Gao Yuyue to rest early before closing the door and leaving.
Gao Yuyue walked over to Shen You'an's bed and called out, "An'an? Are you really sleeping?"
No one responded.
Feeling odd, Gao Yuyue lifted the blanket for a glance.
It was indeed Shen You'an, lying with her back to her, sunk deep into slumber.
Yet even in sleep, she appeared restless—her face pale, cold sweat wetting the strands of hair by her temples, the damp locks clinging to her face and giving her an added air of fragility.
Gao Yuyue reached out to touch her and jumped in shock: "Why is she so hot?"
She had assumed Shen You'an had left earlier to meet that kid with the surname Rong, but it turned out she was truly unwell.
"An'an, wake up! I'll take you to the hospital."
