We weren't using the sporting complex today, which caught me off guard. Even stranger, there was no dress code this time. No strict rules about colors or outfits—everyone could wear whatever they wanted. That alone made it feel different. A little more personal.
The game would be in the imperial garden. Just thinking about it made my heart flutter. I could almost see it—flowers blooming, banners fluttering in the breeze, laughter echoing through the trees. It would be magical.
I clasped the diamond necklace around my neck and turned slightly. "What do you think, Marissa?" I asked, fingers brushing the cold stones. Mother had given it to me, and I wanted it close today.
She smiled, adjusting a strand of my hair behind my ear. "It matches the stones on your dress perfectly," she said softly, stepping back to admire her work. I glanced at the mirror, took in the whole picture, and smiled too.
