Michael Linton had already intentionally given a reminder, and even without it, Fabian Holmes knew those things couldn't be said to Amelia Linton, unless he wanted to invite trouble for himself.
"He just said he's coming home tonight and told me to treat him well, things like that." When he said this, he didn't even turn his head; his face showed no sign of abnormality, and anyway, she didn't notice.
Amelia Linton didn't see anything wrong and didn't ask further. She sat properly in the passenger seat, becoming a quiet passenger.
Since she didn't ask, Fabian certainly wouldn't volunteer to say anything to her. Neither spoke, and the car fell into a silent atmosphere, but it wasn't awkwardly so.
After Fabian dropped Amelia off at home, he didn't even get out of the car. He turned around and headed for the company. There were no urgent matters at the office, but he just didn't want to stay at home with her because he wasn't sure if she might cause problems again.
