After Amelia Linton finished dialing the police, she sat on the sofa without moving an inch, holding the phone, waiting for Fabian Holmes to call and hold her accountable.
After about ten minutes, the phone in her hand rang.
She raised it to take a look. As she expected, it was a call from her estranged husband.
Amelia Linton didn't pick up immediately. Instead, she stared unblinkingly at the phone. Just as it was about to hang up, she slowly answered it.
"Amelia Linton! You're getting more and more out of line. You even dared to file a fake police report. What exactly are you trying to do?" As soon as she placed the phone to her ear, his angry questioning voice came from the other end.
Amelia wasn't surprised that Fabian Holmes was so angry. If he didn't yell at her in anger, that would be surprising.
