Upon hearing Sophia Wood's question, Alice Turner was quite sure that her mom had something to discuss with her, probably something rather tricky. She glanced at the report on her computer and said to the person on the phone, "Not busy, Mom! Just go ahead and tell me what's up."
She wasn't in a rush to deal with the report; she could look at it tomorrow. She had finished today's work, and unless something urgent popped up, she could even sit and drink coffee to pass the time, though that wasn't her style.
"I'm facing a difficult situation right now and I don't know what to do. I want to discuss it with you." Sophia Wood didn't specify what the troublesome issue was, just vaguely mentioned it.
Hearing this, Alice Turner immediately responded, "What is it? Mom! Just tell me directly."
After she finished speaking, she quietly waited for the person on the other end of the line to say something.
