Chapter 7 - SEVEN: SIGNING THE CONTRACT

SERENA

Malcolm's expression was a direct opposite of how shocked i looked right now. He had a calm expression evident on his face, like the news he just relayed to me was not something so surprising and serious.

"Wait what? You burnt my house?" I asked as i sat up ignoring the pain around my torso.

"Wh...wh...what, no, why would you do that?" I asked as i waved my hands in the air in disbelief.

"WHY. WOULD. YOU. BURN. MY. HOUSE?" I screamed at him, no longer even caring about the intense pain i felt. I had bought that house with my hard earned money, because i liked it and it was my dream house, and now am hearing that they burnt it down?

I could feel my anger skyrocket through the roof. I felt my blood boil.

"Do you know how long it took me to save up to buy that house? Do you KNOW what i had to go through to get MY dream house?" I asked malcolm as i slowly placed my stiff and wobbly legs on the floor, in an attempt to stand up.

Malcolm quickly rushed to me, placing a hand on my shoulder. "Ma'am you aren't supposed to leave your bed, it's bad for you, please lay down back" he pleaded but i ignored him.

"Shut up!" I shakily stood up from the hospital bed, my legs so wobbly that i almost fell back on the bed. I held the table beside me so that i could be stable.

"You burnt my house down, and you expect me to be calm?" I asked malcolm in disbelief as i looked up at him. I could feel tears start to cloud my vision, and hastily blinked my eyes.

"Ma'am i assure you, this was the only way" Malcolm stretched his hand to hold me from falling.

"We had to make it look like the house caught fire, and that you died while you were inside" he added, and that was when i started to realize that it was really the only option.

I mean there had to be a plan to make it look like i really died, so that Ariel will think she really killed me.

"But...but, how about me? I mean my body. People have to at least find a body there right? But i am right here?" I asked, as i sat back down, Malcolm releasing me from his grip.

He nodded, and walked closer to me. "Yes, we got that sorted out too"

My face contoured in confusion, because i didn't even know how that was possible. i mean, i was right here? So how?

"How?" I asked, my voice laced with confusion. Malcolm took his hands to his front pocket and brought out a phone.

"We looked for a woman that looked identical to you in shape, body and size from the morgue" he replied, showing me the pictures. I stared at the phone in disbelief, and shock.

What the?

"Woah! How were you guys able to do that in a short time? Like i mean just two days?" I asked, as i gasped in shock, staring at my house being burnt down, and someone who looked like my body size, lying on the ground.

"Mr. Gabe ordered us to find a solution as quick as possible ma'am before Ariel would start to get suspicious, or come back to check on you, and find out that you aren't there. We had to make it look like you started the fire" he said, and i nodded, fully understanding what he meant.

I adjusted my position on the bed to be more comfortable so that i could ease myself of the pain. My eyes caught the envelope that laid on the table.

In that envelope was a piece of paper that could change my life, and could help me get the revenge i so desired.

I wanted to get my revenge so bad, that, it was the only thing i could think of at the moment. To squeeze Ariel and Stephan dry of everything they ever had and built. But, i was kind of scared.

I didn't know what it would feel like to be married to your enemy. Would there be lots of fights and disagreement? I had no idea. But, if this was my only chance at revenge, then i would gladly take it.

I gazed up at Malcolm with a smile on my face. "Alright thank you, you may leave. I would sign the contract, and call you to communicate with you on when i want you to come get it"

Malcolm nodded, and bowed, before walking out of the hospital room, shutting the door behind him.

I let out a deep breath, this was happening too fast. one minute i was perfectly okay, and happy, with the joy that i was having a baby, the next, i get stabbed, lost my child, and now i am going to be getting married to my worst enemy.

Talk about bad luck.

I picked up the contract on the table, with a pen that was beside it. I opened up the envelope, and brought out the contract. The giant written word "contract" sounded too serious for me. All my life i had always thought that the contracts i would be signing would be for business and companies. But, here i was, signing a contract for my own marriage.

Pathetic if you ask me.

I glanced through the contract, it had everything thing i wanted, the rules and things we should stare clear off, like the no falling in love rule, no meddling in our personal lives and all that.

"Well here goes nothing" i muttered as i clenched the pen in my hands. I moved my hand towards where my signature is required.

I scribbled on the paper, signing my signature on it. I sighed as i dropped the pen and contract on my lap.

I have unfortunately, just signed myself away for two years.
