Chapter 351 - Chapter 351 – Kerry Eurodyne

We had an issue with the chapter release — by mistake I uploaded Chapter 341 when the next one should have been Chapter 351. Sorry for the confusion! It's now fixed, and once again, apologies for the mistake.

When the man in the leather jacket turned around, Oliver, Jack, and V all froze.

His face was just too recognizable. Too famous. None of them could believe that they'd randomly stumbled upon him—here of all places.

Karl, however, just stared at the man blankly.

To him, it was the face of a complete stranger.

So—what kind of man was he?

His features were sharp, his cyber-enhanced optical eyes glowing faintly with data streams. Beneath his sun-kissed skin, deep lines were etched around the corners of his eyes. A thick, black beard framed his chin, and along his neck were visible signs of cybernetic implants. The black plating that jutted out of his collarbone had golden accents—decorative, almost artistic in feel.

Karl's first impression?

Looks like an artist. Maybe a stage performer.

His implants were purely aesthetic. No combat gear. Taking this guy down would be easier than handling a random gang thug.

It wasn't until Karl noticed the stunned expressions on his teammates' faces that he realized something was off.

What are they so shocked about? Is this guy someone important?

As Karl pondered, Oliver, who had tapped the man's shoulder, finally broke the silence—shouting in disbelief:

"Kerry—Kerry Eurodyne?! You're Kerry Eurodyne!"

"Tone it down, kid."

The man—Kerry—didn't look the least bit surprised by the recognition. In fact, he seemed to expect it.

His gaze drifted across the stunned faces of Jack and V, then returned to Oliver.

"Lemme guess—another obsessive fan who tracked me down? Mind letting me eat in peace? I'll sign something after I'm done. Go wait outside, yeah?"

"Fan?" Karl blinked.

This guy—Kerry—must've been some kind of celebrity. He turned to Jack and whispered, "Who is this guy? You all look like you saw a ghost."

"You don't recognize him? Seriously, Karl?" Jack looked absolutely betrayed. "He's been a rock god since 2003. That's Kerry Eurodyne—vocalist, rhythm guitarist, and co-founder of Samurai, the band he started with Johnny Silverhand!"

Karl did the math. 2003 to now... It's 2076. That's seventy-three years.

Seventy-three years in the spotlight? That's not fame—that's borderline mythic.

"Wait—how old is he?! How can someone stay relevant that long?"

"Kerry Eurodyne, born April 7th, 1988. Founded Samurai in 2003 alongside Johnny Silverhand. And he's been a legend ever since."

Jack rattled off the facts like a trivia machine. Karl looked at Kerry again. Guy didn't look a day over mid-40s. In reality, he was 88.

Damn. That's some next-level skincare... or top-shelf chrome.

Now it made sense why the others were so shocked. They'd all been blasting Samurai tracks in the car lately. Seeing one of the band's founding members in the flesh? Yeah. That'd do it.

Still, what caught Karl's attention wasn't Kerry himself—it was that other name Jack mentioned:

Johnny Silverhand.

So this guy used to be in a band with Johnny?

Karl was mulling it over when Kerry waved them away again.

"I'm not your fan," Karl said, stepping forward, voice calm. "And I don't need your autograph."

That made Kerry pause. For the first time, he noticed there was another guy standing behind the trio of stammering fanboys—a young man with a face that looked oddly familiar.

"You are…?"

"Just a guy trying to grab lunch," Karl replied, pointing at the table. "No other seats open. Mind if we share?"

Kerry glanced around the small diner.

Sure enough, all the other tables were full.

He looked Karl over again, realizing he'd misjudged the situation.

"Ah. So you're not some diehard who caught wind of my location," Kerry muttered. "Damn, and here I thought I'd finally need to start wearing disguises again."

He chuckled and shook his head. It was clear he'd mistaken them for annoying superfans. But just a few customers surprised by a celebrity sighting? That, he could live with.

"Sure, sit down. The food here's actually pretty damn good."

Kerry wasn't usually so friendly. Even when table-sharing, he rarely welcomed strangers. But there was something oddly familiar about Karl… so he made an exception.

V and Oliver, clearly still in awe, slid into the seats across from Kerry. Jack grabbed an extra chair and wedged himself into the corner.

Karl? He didn't care. He just sat right next to Kerry like it was nothing.

As he took his seat, Karl's eyes drifted toward Kerry's half-empty cup of coffee. No food yet. The guy must've just sat down.

Meanwhile, Kerry couldn't take his eyes off Karl's face.

And then it clicked.

His brow lifted in recognition. "If I'm not mistaken… you're that merc. From Team KK."

"You know me?"

Karl didn't mind chatting while they waited for their food. "Where'd you see my face?"

"Your braindance. Not bad, by the way. You one of those BD actors? My agent bought one of your recordings—said it topped the sales charts in Night City for three months straight. Even beat my concert recordings. So yeah… I watched it."

Kerry leaned back. "The one where you fought that former New American lieutenant? Pretty entertaining. You guys rehearse that scene?"

Rehearse it?

What?

Karl stared.

So this rock legend… had only watched the BD. He didn't know anything else. He didn't even realize that it wasn't staged.

Guess he's like me with celebrities—clueless unless it's in his wheelhouse.

Do all stars live in bubbles like this?
