With a look of regret, the great demon king removed his wicked hand from Yui's small butt, his expression one of unsated desire.
"Ahem… Kotegawa-san, which way is your house? I'll take you home," he said, clearing his throat to cover his embarrassment.
"I don't need you to take me. Put me down!" she retorted coldly, having been forced onto his back.
"Oh, okay. Then you can go home by yourself. That saves me the trouble," he said with a bright, relieved smile, making a move to put her down. Since she said she didn't need him to take her, why should he be a busybody?
Staring at him, Yui was furious. I say no, and you really don't take me? You detestable Kusanagi Sora! If I told you to go die, would you do it?!
Feeling incredibly annoyed, she said nothing and just bit down hard on his shoulder again.
"Ah… ow, ow, ow! I get it, I get it! I'll take you home, I'll take you home…" he yelped in pain. He sighed to himself. Were all women part dog? Why did they all like to use this move on him?
With a light snort, she released him, a triumphant smirk on her lips as she pointed him in a direction.
"Kotegawa-san, why are you always so stern? Does everyone at school owe you money?"
"Kotegawa-san, are you part dog? If you hadn't discovered my one weakness, I wouldn't be bothering to serve you."
"Kotegawa-san, I saw you playing with a cat in a pet shop the other day. Was that really you? It's hard to believe a girl like you would like a cute creature like a cat."
"Kotegawa-san…"
Walking home with her on his back, the great demon king was like a nagging grandmother, chattering on and on to himself.
Veins popped on her forehead. At first, she ignored him, but seeing him get more and more carried away, she finally exploded.
"Enough!" she shouted, panting. She had never met anyone so detestable, so infuriating, in her entire life.
"Alright, I was just trying to liven things up. If you don't like it, I'll stop," he said with a shrug, and then fell silent.
The atmosphere quieted down, and she let out a small sigh of relief. This was the first time in her life she had been in such close contact with a member of the opposite sex, other than her family. She was actually so nervous her body was stiff.
She had never imagined that one day a boy would be carrying her home on his back. The occasional knowing and warm glances from passersby made her iceberg-like face flush with a shy red.
Though this Kusanagi Sora was very detestable, his back felt surprisingly safe and secure. She gradually relaxed.
"He's actually quite handsome when he's not talking…" she thought to herself. But then she was so embarrassed by her own thought that her face turned beet red.
Sora was oblivious to the complex emotions of the girl on his back. Following her directions, he soon arrived at her house.
"Kotegawa-san, we're here. You can get down now," he said, stopping as he saw the nameplate with "Kotegawa" on it.
"Take me inside," she replied coldly, having come to the realization that you couldn't be polite with this guy.
"Alright, alright. You really know how to order people around, Kotegawa-san," he grumbled, but he had no choice but to carry the "precious" Disciplinary Committee head inside.
A smirk on her lips, seeing his annoyed expression, Yui felt a strange sense of satisfaction.
It seemed no one else was home. The Kotegawa house was that of an ordinary middle-class family. Though not particularly wealthy and the house wasn't spacious, it was decorated in a very warm and cozy way, making you feel at ease the moment you entered.
With her injured foot, she couldn't walk on her own, so she had to endure her shyness and let him carry her to her room.
Carrying her into her room, he had an "as I thought" expression.
Her room wasn't decorated in a cute way like most girls'. In fact, it was rather plain. Besides the necessary items, there was nothing extra.
But the entire room was spotlessly clean, and everything was arranged neatly, just like her personality.
"Kotegawa-san, your room really doesn't inspire any motivation in a boy," he commented, putting her down. He felt that even his own room had more character.
"None of your business!" she retorted coldly, her eye twitching, a blush on her face that she couldn't suppress.
"Alright, it's getting late. Since I've brought you home, I should be going now," he said, stretching lazily. The sun was setting, and he was ready to go home.
With a complicated expression, her face flushed, she opened her mouth several times, as if to say something.
"Th… th…"
She knew that if not for him, her fate today would have been terrible. But the words "thank you" seemed to be stuck in her throat…
"Well, if you want to thank me, you don't have to. Let me see your hand," he said with a light laugh, sensing her embarrassment. He crouched down in front of her.
Letting out a long sigh of relief, she couldn't help but feel a little annoyed. You detestable Kusanagi Sora! If you weren't so detestable all the time, would I have such a hard time saying a simple 'thank you'?!
After a moment's hesitation, though she didn't know what he was up to now, she held out her hands.
Because of the fall, her palms were scraped, the dark red marks standing out on her fair skin, a pitiful sight. In addition, her right ankle was still red and swollen, a sharp pain shooting through her at the slightest touch.
"Though some ointment would heal it in a few days, I might as well treat it for you…" he muttered to himself. He raised his hand and placed a finger on her palm.
She frowned, a jolt of pain shooting through her. Just as she was about to ask him what he was doing, she froze.
A brilliant light emanated from his finger, enveloping her palm. The scrapes on her skin began to heal at a visible rate.
Stunned, she couldn't even speak. She let him heal her other hand, and then he even lifted her foot and, in the same way, made the swelling on her ankle disappear…
"Y-you…"
Looking at him, who was now standing up with a relaxed expression, she was dumbfounded, unable to even speak properly.
"Are you surprised, Kotegawa-san? It's just a little superpower. Nothing to be amazed about," the great demon king said with a humble expression, though his "humble" demeanor just made you want to step on him.
Not long ago, an alien demoness had nearly destroyed the world, and then a Black Hero had blown a hole in the moon. Compared to that, him having a little superpower wasn't that surprising.
Yes, yes, that was true…
Like hell it was!!!!!
"Tell me, why did you only heal me now?!"
Suddenly realizing something, Yui glared at him with a scrutinizing gaze and demanded an answer.
"Oops… you found out? Well, it's nothing, really. I just wanted to take advantage of you."
"Though you're always so stern and not at all cute, Kotegawa-san, you are a genuine beauty. Not only is your face pretty, but your figure is also quite nice."
"Mmm, that soft touch, that intoxicating scent… I can still taste it," the great demon king replied shamelessly, with a look of fond remembrance, not at all flustered at having his wicked intentions exposed.
Staring at him, her entire face flushed with a deep, shameful red. Hearing his shameless reply, Yui was furious.
"Go to hell!!!"
Without a second thought, she grabbed a nearby pillow and threw it at him.
With a slight sidestep, he easily dodged it and leaped onto the window sill.
"Thank you for the treat, Kotegawa-san! See you later! Hahahaha…"
He waved goodbye to her and then soared into the air with a hearty laugh.
"Kusanagi Sora, I won't let you get away with this!!!!!"
Running to the window, the girl's enraged and shamed roar echoed…
