Chapter 783 - 86. A Beggar by the River

Holding his little pet, Sora, Lala, and Run were walking home.

"Hehe… today was so much fun…" Lala said, bouncing along, her arm linked with his, a happy expression on her face.

"You detestable Lala! You had fun, but you nearly drove everyone at the agency crazy," Run retorted, her arm linked with his other arm, an exasperated look on her face.

Every time Lala went there, she caused all sorts of chaos, turning the whole agency upside down. Now everyone there was afraid of her.

"Well, who cares about them? As long as Lala has fun," he said, his wicked hands stroking his little pet, his tone doting. As long as his girl was happy, he couldn't be bothered with anyone else.

"Aww… Sora, you're so good to me…"

"Sora, you spoil Lala too much," Lala said, her face full of bliss and emotion as she nuzzled his arm. Run, on the other hand, had a sour tone.

"You silly girl, don't I spoil you too?" he asked, tapping her on the head.

"Ow… you spoil me too! Hehe…" she said, rubbing her head, her expression playful and happy.

"Um… Sora, that Kujou person said you've already found a manager for me and Kyouko?" Run asked, re-linking her arm with his, having remembered something.

"Yeah, I have. And it's Sairenji-san's older sister. Since she still has to quit her old job, I told her to come over after she's taken care of her own affairs," he replied, a faint, almost imperceptible smirk on his lips as he mentioned Akiho.

"So Haruna has a sister!"

"That Sairenji's sister? Hmph, I bet she's another great beauty," Lala said, surprised and interested. Run, after a moment of shock, snorted, as if she understood something.

"Tsk, tsk… that's right. Just like Sairenji-san, her sister is also a beautiful and gentle lady," the great demon king said with a chuckle, a devilish light in his deep black eyes.

Lala, being simple-minded, didn't think much of it. But Run, seeing his expression, knew that, just like Haruna, her sister would also sooner or later fall victim to his "wicked hands."

"Ahem… Run, how have you been doing with Kyouko lately?" he asked, seeing the sour expression on her face and realizing he had gotten a little carried away. He cleared his throat and changed the subject.

"I'm very smart, you know! I've already learned everything Kyouko has taught me. And she said that with a little more practice, I can hold my own concert," Run said, getting excited as she talked about herself, her fist clenched with a look of pride.

"As expected of my Run. When you have your concert, we'll all be there to cheer you on," he said, praising her. He wasn't surprised at all that she was debuting so quickly.

She was already a smart and talented girl, and with his full support, she didn't have to struggle and learn on her own like in the original story. It was only natural that she would grow so quickly.

Mmm, first let her hold a few concerts to make a name for herself, and then have her star in the Magical Girl show with Kyouko. He already had a plan for her future development.

Pleased with his praise, Run was beaming. She was already fantasizing about him doting on her even more after she became a big star, and that detestable Lala being captivated by her charm, allowing her to bully and get revenge on her however she pleased.

Her face flushed, her expression dazed, she saw a bright and beautiful future ahead of her…

"Sora, Rhea, Run-chan, look! There's a beggar by the river!" Lala's voice suddenly came, and she pointed to the nearby riverbank with a look of novel excitement.

"A beggar?"

The proud Valkyrie, of course, had no interest in such a lowly thing. She continued to nibble on her snack. Sora and Run, however, looked over with some curiosity.

On the riverbank below, a person was sitting foolishly, their clothes tattered and in a miserable state. At a glance, they really did look like a beggar.

As if sensing their gazes, the beggar slowly turned their head. When their eyes met, they all froze.

"Huh, that beggar looks kind of familiar. I feel like I've seen him somewhere before," Lala said, tilting her head, trying to remember.

"Lala… Human!!!"

"How dare you fool me! How dare you fool me!!!"

Coming to his senses, the beggar on the riverbank had a savage and excited expression. He leaped dozens of meters into the air and pounced towards them.

"Ah… I remember now! He's Rocket-kun from the Kirarian people!" Lala's eyes lit up, and she pointed at the tattered beggar pouncing towards them and shouted.

"Watch out!"

Run didn't know who this Rocket-kun was. Thinking he was about to attack them, she activated her power and threw a mass of cold energy at him.

And so, the poor Rocket-kun was frozen into an ice sculpture in mid-air. He crashed to the ground, rolled a few times, and slid to a stop in front of them.

"Heh… it really is Rocket-kun."

"Poor Rocket-kun. Did someone bully him?"

"Sora, Lala, who is this guy?"

They gathered around the frozen Rocket-kun. Sora and Lala were surprised, and Run was curious.

The last time they had seen him, though he was wearing a ridiculous rocket suit, he was at least full of spirit and quite handsome. But now, in just a few days, he was tattered and emaciated, as if he hadn't eaten in days.

After explaining who he was to Run, she understood, and a look of annoyance crossed her face.

You detestable Lala! First that Ren guy, now this Kirarian person. Why do all these idiots have to be after her?

"Run, unfreeze him. He's already in such a miserable state, let's not bully him anymore," Sora said, taking a few steps back with his little pet.

With a nod, Run dispelled her power, and the ice on Rocket-kun melted.

"You detestable human! How dare you fool me! How dare you fool me!"

As if rebooting, Rocket-kun had a savage and fierce expression, trying to get up as if he wanted to eat Sora.

But it seemed his earlier leap had used up all his strength. The miserable Rocket-kun had just gotten up when he collapsed to the ground again.

"Hey, hey, man. Are you okay?" Sora asked, exasperated.

"Waaah… help me… I haven't eaten in days…"

His savage and fierce expression vanished. Rocket-kun hugged Sora's leg, begging with a mix of snot and tears.

Like a piece of sticky candy, he wouldn't let go. Looking at this Rocket-kun who had just lost all his dignity, Sora's mouth twitched speechlessly…

"Mmm… delicious! So delicious! This food called ramen is simply divine!"

In a ramen shop by the side of the road, the starving Rocket-kun was wolfing down his noodles, not caring at all about the strange looks he was getting from the other customers.

"Heehee… it's pretty good, right? The food on Earth is the best in the entire universe," Lala said with a proud expression, also slurping down a large bowl of ramen.

Sora had also ordered a bowl, but he wasn't eating it himself. He was feeding his little pet. Run was sitting close to him, looking at the starving ghost of a Kirarian person with a speechless expression.

"Rocket-kun, can you tell us how you ended up in such a miserable state?" he asked, a little curious as he fed his pet.

"My name is Pikari, you detestable human! And it's all your fault I'm like this!!!" he shouted, stopping his meal and looking at him with an angry expression.

"Hey, hey, I admit I stood you up, and that wasn't very nice of me. But how you ended up like this has nothing to do with me, right?"

"What have you been doing since we left?"

Though he didn't mind taking the blame for things, he wouldn't take the blame for something he didn't do.

"I've been waiting for you by the river!" he replied with a resentful expression.

Alright, hearing that, Sora was completely speechless…

"Human, I won't be fooled by you again this time! Let's have a proper duel! Only the final victor will have the right to be Lala's fiancé!" he declared, standing up and clenching his fists.

Mmm, after saying that, he picked up his ramen and started wolfing it down again…

"Alright, alright, I know. I'll play with you later," Sora said with a sigh. To avoid having this persistent guy squatting outside his house one day, he agreed…
