looked at Rebecca with seriousness in his gaze. "He can't be in two places at once. He needs an ally. A strong one. Someone who'll watch his back when the time comes. Now that you know everything... now that the full truth is in front of you... are you still willing to do what's needful? Even if it costs you everything?"
Silence, Then Rebecca suddenly burst into laughter. It wasn't forced. It wasn't light-hearted. It was the kind of laugh born out of frustration, disbelief, and passion all twisted together. Her laughter echoed for a moment, drawing attention.
