Over the next few days, life settled back into its usual rhythm.
Harry spent most of his time in the library, scouring books like The Founding of Hogwarts, The Four Founders, and Secrets Hidden Within Hogwarts in hopes of uncovering the location of the Room of Requirement.
Although none of them mentioned it directly, Harry still found a few clues:
"Within Hogwarts lies a mysterious door. It is said that those who open it will find endless treasure…"
"In the early days, the four Founders created many secret chambers and passageways. Fearing an enemy siege, they built a door that could lead anywhere…"
"A hidden door… a room that answers all needs…"
From these scattered hints, Harry formed a few possible theories about where the room might be.
One morning, on his way to the library, he noticed a large crowd gathered in the corridor. Students were buzzing with excitement, eyes wide and faces lit with wonder.
He wasn't particularly interested—until he overheard:
"Whoa…"
"It's so beautiful…"
"What even is that?"
"How did it get into the school?"
"I think I read about it once in a book…"
"It has to be the most beautiful creature I've ever seen…"
Something clicked in Harry's mind. No way…
He turned toward the crowd.
Sure enough, the students were marveling over a unicorn.
The weather had warmed, and the snow had melted several days ago. The sun was shining warmly overhead.
Bathed in sunlight, the unicorn stood on dry ground, its white body glowing like flowing light. The golden horn on its head sparkled brilliantly.
It was even more stunning now than it had been the night he saved it.
But it looked a little restless, maybe unsettled by the crowd. It paced around uneasily.
The moment Harry appeared, the unicorn spotted him.
It slowly began to walk toward him.
"Oh my god, it's coming this way! It must like me!" squealed a girl in front of him, nearly jumping in excitement.
"Don't be ridiculous—it's clearly walking toward me!" said another, clutching her hands in anticipation.
The unicorn walked calmly past both of them—straight to Harry.
The two girls turned to glare at him as if he'd just committed a heinous crime.
Harry smiled awkwardly.
The rest of the students stared at him with envy.
"No way…"
"Wait, it knows Harry?"
"I swear, I'm throwing my toad out today. I need a unicorn."
"Heh. Keep dreaming."
Suddenly, the unicorn raised its head, turned away from Harry, and walked toward the edge of the crowd.
There, just beyond the circle of students, stood a beautiful girl holding a book against her chest—Cho Chang.
She looked startled as the unicorn approached her.
But unicorns were irresistible, and she couldn't help herself. She slowly reached out and gently stroked its head, afraid it might get scared and run.
The unicorn closed its eyes and leaned gently into her chest.
Cho smiled softly.
Immediately, jealous stares turned toward her.
Most of them were from girls.
The boys? They were utterly smitten—Cho, smiling under the sun, with a glowing unicorn by her side… it was like a scene from a dream.
"I read somewhere that unicorns only approach pure maidens… Could that be true?"
"Yeah right. That unicorn's just a dirty flirt," one jealous boy muttered. Why couldn't I be the one it's snuggling up to?
When Harry saw Cho, his smile faded.
He turned and walked away. He didn't want to stay another moment.
If you want to treat me like a stranger… then fine. I won't bother with you either.
The unicorn glanced between Harry's retreating back and the girl beside it—hesitating.
What a dilemma.
One was its savior. The other… the girl it liked.
In the end, it turned away from Cho and followed Harry.
Every few steps, it looked back, eyes filled with longing.
Cho remained still, watching Harry's retreating figure. Her heart felt tight...
Later, in the library.
Harry looked at the unicorn.
"You really can't help yourself, huh? Can't walk past a pretty girl without falling head over heels?"
The unicorn gave him a blank stare.
I may be smart, but I have no idea what you're saying.
Harry narrowed his eyes.
"Wait… are you male? Let's check."
The unicorn struggled in protest, but it was no match for Harry's determination.
"Aha! You're a female," he concluded.
The unicorn looked ready to die from embarrassment.
"What's your name?"
The unicorn stayed perfectly still.
"No name? Poor thing. I'll give you one!"
Harry was practically glowing. He loved naming things.
"You're so white… how about Snowy?"
He paused.
"…No, wait, that sounds kinda weird."
"You're a girl… how about Little Snow?"
He beamed with pride. "Perfect. From now on, you're Xiao Xue—Little Snow."
(Another brilliant name, courtesy of Harry Potter.)
He stroked her soft fur.
"From now on, when I call 'Xiao Xue,' you answer. When I say 'Check,' you say 'Mate.' Got it?"
Looking at her glowing coat, Harry suddenly frowned.
"Man… if I go around with you, girls are gonna throw themselves at me. What am I gonna do...?"
