Chapter 106 - Chapter 104 – Penelope

"What did you say?" His expression was blank, as if he hadn't heard clearly—or perhaps he simply couldn't believe what he'd just heard.

Harry couldn't be bothered with this kind of idiot. He turned to Hermione beside him and said, "Let's go."

No hesitation at all.

Seeing Harry's attitude, the boy finally realized he hadn't misheard.

Furious, he shouted, "Stop right there!"

The shout drew the attention of several students nearby.

But Harry ignored him and continued walking forward.

The boy could almost hear the murmurs and quiet laughter around him—students whispering and pointing.

Humiliated and angry, he yanked out his wand and aimed it at Harry's back. "Stop, or don't blame me for what happens next!"

The students around them gasped. Clearly, this wasn't just a petty squabble.

Harry came to a halt, considering whether or not to give him a harsh lesson.

As for the consequences—Dumbledore would never expel him. Besides, this world wasn't as dark as the real one. The magical world was relatively small. The Ministry of Magic, though nominally in charge of everything, only had so many officials. No matter who this student was, or how powerful his father might be, it was impossible for things like kidnappings, staged accidents, or assassins from the criminal underworld to happen here.

And besides, he was Harry Potter—the Boy Who Lived. No one would openly provoke him, at least not in public. Otherwise, they'd just be giving others ammunition to accuse them of being Death Eaters—and that would be far worse.

Just then, a clear, cool voice rang out: "What do you think you're doing, Travis?"

Because the bulky boy named Travis was blocking the way, Harry couldn't immediately see who had spoken—but the change in Travis's expression was enough.

His face twisted in frustration, teeth clenched, and yet... he looked utterly helpless. As if being called out like this had happened to him many times before.

Then the speaker stepped into view.

She was tall—especially for her year—and Harry found himself at least half a head shorter than her.

Her pale blue eyes gleamed with intelligence. Fair skin, rosy lips, and a calm, aloof expression gave her the appearance of a porcelain doll.

Travis snapped, trying to keep his composure: "Penelope Clearwater, whatever I'm doing is none of your business." Harry couldn't help thinking he was all bluff and no substance.

Penelope gave a faint smile. "Who says it's not?"

Travis flared up like a cat having its tail stepped on. "You're just a prefect—bossing people around every day!"

Harry blinked. So, they were fifth-years. That was the earliest year students could be chosen as prefects.

Penelope's face turned cold. "I don't care what you're doing, but don't let me catch you bullying younger students."

Her tone was firm and commanding.

Harry sighed inwardly. So even upperclassmen thought he needed protecting now...

In the end, all Travis could do was throw out one last bitter threat before storming off in embarrassment.

Harry remembered the boy's parting words and chuckled to himself. So it really was true—bad guys always had to get in one last threat before leaving.

Penelope noticed the strange look on Harry's face and assumed he was shaken by the threat. She comforted him, saying, "You don't have to be afraid of him. He wouldn't dare do anything to you at school. If he bothers you again, just let me know."

Harry felt a little awkward—it was his first time being protected by someone else. But honestly? It didn't feel bad. Especially when the person doing the protecting was a beautiful older student.

Penelope continued, "His name is Ted Travis. He's always throwing his weight around, acting like he owns the place just because he's from a pure-blood family. But really, he wouldn't dare go too far."

"Why was he bothering you anyway?" she asked.

Harry briefly explained what had happened.

Penelope had already noticed the unicorn standing beside Harry. Out of politeness, she hadn't stared at it earlier, but now she openly admired Xiaoxue.

The unicorn remained at Harry's side, unwilling to approach Hermione or Penelope—very different from how it had acted around Cho Chang.

After a while, still gazing at the unicorn, Penelope finally remembered to introduce herself. "I'm Penelope Clearwater. I'm in Ravenclaw—same as Travis."

"Nice to meet you. I'm Harry Potter," Harry replied.

Penelope, still distracted, absentmindedly replied, "Oh…" But as the name sank in, her eyes suddenly widened. "Ah—!"
