Moss emerged from the deep pit carrying AncientMelodymon and rejoined the group.
Looking around, she noticed that Baihumon and Xuanwumon had also arrived, meaning all Four Sovereigns were gathered and seemed to be discussing something.
Moss couldn't help but smile.
Because she saw something amusing.
Zhuqiaomon was large, with nearly a hundred-meter wingspan, yet now among the Four Sovereigns, Zhuqiaomon looked like the smallest of the bunch.
Baihumon was a bit bigger, Xuanwumon was even larger, and Qinglongmon was the largest.
The one with the worst temper—Zhuqiaomon—was actually the smallest. Moss found that funny and chuckled.
She then looked through the crowd and noticed a new person had appeared—
Ryo Akiyama!
A legendary Digimon Tamer, his partner is Cyberdramon, whose Mega form is Justimon.
"Tai, what are you doing here too?!" Ryo was surprised to see Tai Kamiya in the group.
Tai grinned, "Ryo, long time no see!"
The two already knew each other—recorded in Digimon Adventure V-Tamer 01's third special chapter.
Back then, they were still young... mostly because their missions hadn't been completed.
One hadn't defeated Apocalymon, and the other hadn't ended Millenniummon's cycle.
Now, with time passed, they had fulfilled those missions.
One defeated Apocalymon.
The other completely erased Millenniummon.
They never thought they'd reunite today!
"You've got quite the network—perfect for a diplomat," Moss said to Tai.
Tai scratched his head, sheepishly replying, "I'm not that great... just happened to meet everyone."
Moss smiled and handed AncientMelodymon to the third group's Tamers. Their tearful reunion filled the area with happiness.
Amidst the joy, the group shared information.
Ryo learned the name "Deletemon." He had known of such a threat but not its name—now the data was complete.
As they spoke of Deletemon, they noticed the pit—where red bubbles had been floating—was now completely still.
"Huh? Where'd all the bubbles go?"
"Deletemon won't be emerging anytime soon," Moss said.
The Four Sovereigns flew over, and Zhuqiaomon, shocked, asked, "You stopped Deletemon?!"
He'd been severely injured just moments into battle with Deletemon and had only survived by rapidly shielding himself with energy.
Yet this black-and-white angel had returned unscathed and even stopped it?
Qinglongmon had suspected she was unusual from the start, and now it was confirmed.
Even Baihumon and Xuanwumon, who had fought Deletemon earlier, were astonished to hear Moss had delayed its spread.
Moss didn't boast, simply explained, "Deletemon is a cleansing program. But in another world, there's an entity of 'anti-evolution'—Apocalymon."
"Apocalymon?!" The third group was instantly alert.
After all, in their world, Digimon Adventure was a known TV anime.
They remembered Apocalymon as the boss who nearly wiped out the original DigiDestined.
Moss smiled, "Since I can open interdimensional gates, I redirected Deletemon's bubbles to Apocalymon."
Qinglongmon understood and sighed, "There is balance in all things. Just as evolution exists—"
The Four Sovereigns turned to AncientMelodymon.
Qinglongmon continued, "—there also exists an anti-evolution will."
That phrase alone made the Digimon shiver.
Evolution is their very instinct. The idea of "anti-evolution" was like a zombie apocalypse to them—something more terrifying than death.
Qinglongmon added, "Though anti-evolution hinders us, it restrains Deletemon. In a way, it has saved us."
The Four Sovereigns exchanged glances. This "savior" was a complicated one.
Moss said, "Apocalymon has always wanted to help the Digital World but never had the chance. Now, it finally does."
"A hero in the form of anti-evolution? Incredible!" The Four Sovereigns saluted Apocalymon with respect.
"…," the third group looked at each other, speechless.
They knew Apocalymon's "wants" were villain speech tactics, not real.
Henry Wong speculated, "Maybe reality doesn't follow the anime exactly?"
Takato, Rika, and the others nodded, "Could be!"
Anime should be reference, not gospel. Maybe this Apocalymon really wanted to be a hero.
Moss warned, "Still, Deletemon might attack elsewhere too. Think of it like a flood—it doesn't mean other areas are safe."
The Four Sovereigns nodded in agreement.
Qinglongmon said, "Still, you bought us precious time. On behalf of the Digital World—I thank you."
The others followed in gratitude.
Moss opened her menu panel—
[HolyAngemon Lucy: 100%!]
As one of the Three Great Angels who guard the core of the Digital World, HolyAngemon Lucy reached full sync thanks to Moss's actions.
"Now only Lilithmon remains among my Ultimate-level evolutions," Moss thought.
As she mused, the Four Sovereigns turned to AncientMelodymon.
Qinglongmon solemnly asked, "Embodiment of Digimon potential—AncientMelodymon, will you help us and restore the Power of Evolution?"
"Of course—I'll do my best!"
AncientMelodymon, ever cheerful and forgiving, nodded and flew into the air.
A multitude of Digimon Sprites surrounded it, amplifying its power.
That energy, like sunlight, was broadcast across the Digital World.
Countless Digimon began to evolve or DNA Digivolve into their Ultimate forms—
Imperialdramon, MetalSeadramon, Phoenixmon, Gryphonmon, Boltmon, MarineAngemon…
Even evil Digimon showed up to join the fight—because this was about survival now.
As waves of Ultimates arrived, the Four Sovereigns' domain became the frontline.
—
"Hm?"
Moss noticed a glow from Kari Kamiya—white light flowed from her body, resonating with the Power of Evolution.
Kari?
A few Digimon Sprites floated toward her, smiling warmly.
Moss chuckled, "Looks like they like you."
In Season 1, Kari was often possessed by higher beings—now even the Digimon Sprites favored her. It all made sense.
"She really is special," HolyAngemon Lucy agreed.
Kari waved at the sprites and asked, "Aren't you going to evolve?"
"I thought this power wouldn't work on me…"
Moss believed she had no latent potential left after awakening her divine form.
But then—
[Sanzomon: 100%!]
Apparently, she had unlocked more—Sanzomon (a monk-style Digimon) was now also ready.
"Unexpected bonus!"
Kari watched in awe, "Are you going to evolve?"
"No, my case is a little different. I'll explain later."
Moss turned to Ryo.
"You're the one who defeated Millenniummon, right?"
Ryo nodded, "Yes, after three tries, I stopped his resurrection cycle on the fourth."
Moss nodded. "Any advice? He's recently threatened me."
"Millenniummon… again?" Ryo said, stunned.
Suddenly, Cyberdramon interrupted: "That's impossible."
Ryo froze, staring at his partner. "Cyberdramon… are you still Cyberdramon?"
Cyberdramon grinned, "Of course I am. Who else would I be?"
But Cyberdramon never talked this much before.
Is this really his partner, or Millenniummon's remnant?
Ryo stared hard. "...Continue."
Cyberdramon said nothing.
Rebellious much?
Moss looked between them. "...You two need a moment?"
Ryo and Cyberdramon pointed at each other, "I'm not flirting with him!"
Everyone turned and stared.
What's going on?
Moss giggled and waved it off. "Okay, tell me how to fight Millenniummon?"
Cyberdramon stayed silent, trembling as if resisting dark thoughts.
Ryo shook his head, "No trick. Just give it your all."
Millenniummon has no obvious weakness and gets harder with each resurrection.
"Any way to find him?"
"You don't find him. If he sees you as a threat—he'll come to you."
"…Got it. Thanks."
Moss left, content. She would delay absorbing the new souls (HolyAngemon Lucy, Sanzomon, and Cherubimon) until she had safely returned Kari to her world.
