The rift of the Dimensional Gate would normally close automatically without energy sustaining it.
Space naturally heals itself, just like wounds on a living creature.
By all rights, the Dimensional Gate Moss had opened in the pit should have closed long ago.
However, Imperial Devimon forcefully jammed himself into the rift, like sticking something into a wound and twisting it around — naturally preventing it from healing.
Thus, even though Moss wasn't actively maintaining the gate, Imperial Devimon was keeping the tear open with his body, continuously sending forces into Apocalymon's dimension.
I must destroy Apocalymon and annihilate the Digimon World!
Imperial Devimon's mindset was simple: have it all.
Just like in the original, where he simultaneously attacked both the Digital World and the Human World.
Now, even while targeting Apocalymon, Imperial Devimon wouldn't relent against the Digital World.
He wanted to kill, kill, kill— driven by his primal instinct to destroy everything.
Across the Four Holy Beasts' domain, many Ultimate-level Digimon set up camp, training and staying vigilant against the threat of Imperial Devimon emerging at any time.
Taking inspiration from Imperial Devimon's behavior, Moss opened a new Dimensional Gate leading to the Digital World of Digimon Frontier (Season 4), and contacted HolyAngewomon through telepathy.
After explaining the situation and the threat of Imperial Devimon,
HolyAngewomon murmured, "The rulers of that world are the Four Holy Beasts?"
Moss asked, "What's wrong?"
HolyAngewomon said, "It just reminds me that long ago, my Digital World was once ruled by the Four Holy Beasts... and even a supreme Emperor above them."
Huanglongmon...
Moss knew about Huanglongmon — one of the rare Digimon mastering both light and darkness.
HolyAngewomon continued:
"Back then, because the rulers were all beast-type Digimon, beast-types became arrogant and oppressed humanoid Digimon.
This amplified tensions and fueled conflict.
Later, when Lucemon took control, he brought temporary peace through force... but since Lucemon was humanoid, humanoid Digimon became arrogant instead and oppressed beast-types.
It wasn't until Lucemon turned tyrannical that the two sides reconciled, finding unity against a common enemy."
Moss sighed inwardly.
It seemed Digimon, though simpler than humans, still repeated similar cycles of history.
Lucemon likely didn't start as a villain— more like, "I gave them peace, and they dare defy me? Fine, all must die!"
Bad intentions leading accidentally to good outcomes.
Such was the irony of fate.
HolyAngewomon added softly:
"Now, I'm the only one managing this Digital World.
Sometimes I fear... one day, I might also turn tyrannical."
Moss said, "You're different from Lucemon.
For one, you're not as powerful as him."
HolyAngewomon felt comforted— until she heard the second half.
She huffed in mock anger, "So mean!"
Even if it was the truth, saying it so bluntly was harsh.
Moss smiled and said,
"Sorry, sorry.
Don't worry — I'll help guide you and purge any fallen thoughts before they take root."
"Thanks," HolyAngewomon said warmly, her heart lighter.
The Third Digital World, besieged by Imperial Devimon, wouldn't repeat the tragedy of the Fourth.
HolyAngewomon said, "I must remain here to protect my world, but I can provide logistical support."
The Fourth Digital World, famous for its railways, had the strongest logistics among all Digital Worlds.
After receiving her consent, Moss explained to the Four Holy Beasts about the existence of the Fourth World and said:
"To maintain this interworld connection, the Dimensional Gate must stay open — it needs massive energy."
The Four Holy Beasts were amazed at the existence of another Digital World.
Qinglongmon said, "Energy won't be a problem."
Each Holy Beast possessed twelve extra Digicores compared to normal Digimon — making their energy reserves and recovery rate ten times greater.
At that moment, a gigantic figure approached.
It was Unlimiteddramon!
"Let me handle the energy supply," Unlimiteddramon said.
"The Four Holy Beasts' power should be preserved for other uses."
Unlike normal Digimon, Unlimiteddramon's energy wasn't just from Digicores — it had an internal reactor, putting its reserves on par with the Holy Beasts.
The Holy Beasts' power was versatile — useful for magic-like abilities — while Unlimiteddramon's was mainly for mechanical operation and attack output.
Thus, Unlimiteddramon was perfect for the job.
Everyone stared at Unlimiteddramon in stunned silence.
"...What?" he asked.
Unlike the first season's Dark Master version of Unlimiteddramon, this one was a purely mechanical evolution through natural means.
"Alright," Moss said, "the gate maintenance is yours."
Meanwhile, in the Human World of Season 3, the adults sent an Ark to retrieve the kids.
Since time flowed identically between worlds, the kids had been missing for several days — and Ryo Akiyama had been gone for nearly a year!
The Fourth Season kids also returned to their home world — though thanks to the gate, they could revisit easily.
The Digital Warriors like Silver Mirrormon remained.
"What about you two?" Moss asked Tai Kamiya and ZeroMaru.
Tai Kamiya thought for a moment and said,
"Could you open a gate to our world too? We could also send reinforcements."
Moss glanced at Unlimiteddramon.
"Can you maintain another gate?"
Unlimiteddramon replied,
"Adding just one more? No problem."
Thus, Moss opened another Dimensional Gate to the Tamers' Digital World.
Tai Kamiya and ZeroMaru visited HolyAngemon at Holy Angel Castle to negotiate reinforcements — and HolyAngemon agreed without hesitation.
Thus, yet another Digital World joined the alliance.
Moss proposed,
"Let's set up an information platform to coordinate across worlds. Running back and forth would be too inefficient."
The idea was quickly approved.
With help from the Digital Elves, they connected the three worlds with cables and built a massive information network — looking like a giant Arc Reactor.
Beams of light shot from the reactor, linking:
The Four Holy Beasts
HolyAngewomon
HolyAngemon
Tai Kamiya
Kari Kamiya
The Season 3 Tamers
The Season 4 Warriors
Ultimate-level Digimon reinforcements
Moss herself
Everyone now had a "login account."
When Moss activated her account, it was like seeing a giant group chat interface in her mind.
"Lucy, can you see it?" Moss asked.
"Yeah, I can," replied Angemon Lucy.
Moss smiled.
"Looks like it's going to be a group chat from now on."
She suggested,
"Since we're a coalition of justice across Digital Worlds, let's call ourselves the Digital Justice League."
Everyone agreed — even the Digital Elves beamed happily.
Thus, the Digital Justice League was born.
But leadership was needed.
Everyone unanimously elected Moss as the first Secretary-General — because without her, this alliance wouldn't exist.
Moss accepted with a wry smile,
"Fine, I'll be the first Secretary-General."
"As my first directive," she said, "find a long-term solution for sustaining the Dimensional Gates."
Using Unlimiteddramon's energy was fine for now, but not sustainable.
As her second directive:
"Pick a second Secretary-General as soon as possible."
Everyone: "...?"
New job and already planning retirement??
Still, no one could find a better candidate than Moss.
Moss also appointed Qinglongmon, HolyAngewomon, and HolyAngemon as Deputy Secretaries, each responsible for their respective worlds in her absence.
After organizing the League, Moss and Kari Kamiya continued traveling through infinite dimensions, searching for the Season 1 Digital World.
Finally, after countless attempts—
They found it.
The Dark Castle — formerly ruled by Myotismon — now housed:
Gatomon
Wizardmon
Chuumon
Goburimon
Mushroomon
Tsunomon
Gekomon
Kunemon
And even Bakemon acting as servants.
Little Demidevimon was still loyally present too.
"Kari!"
Gatomon spotted Kari Kamiya and rushed over joyfully.
Kari smiled warmly.
"You're my partner?"
Gatomon — yes, very good.
Kari asked excitedly,
"Gatomon, can you evolve into Angewomon?"
Gatomon nodded.
Kari's eyes sparkled—then she asked cautiously,
"Can you evolve into Mastemon?"
Gatomon looked confused, and shook her head.
Kari's excitement dimmed slightly.
"And what about HolyAngewomon?"
Again, Gatomon shook her head, ears drooping.
"...Venusmon?"
Gatomon still shook her head, looking so pitiful.
Realizing she'd raised her expectations too high, Kari quickly apologized,
"Sorry, sorry! Just being able to become Angewomon is wonderful!"
Gatomon's spirits lifted again.
"As long as you're with me," Gatomon said happily,
"I'll keep evolving stronger!"
Kari pulled out her Sacred Plan and said,
"Then let's try evolving now, Gatomon!"
Gatomon was startled — Now?
Evolution didn't happen on command...
But suddenly, a power welled up inside her.
"Ahhh!"
Gatomon Digivolve to—Angewomon!
Angewomon Digivolve to—Holy Dragonmon!
A holy dragon with ten wings and pink fur bowed its head lovingly toward Kari.
"Kari, I evolved to Ultimate Level!"
"That's... great."
Kari managed a strained smile.
Sensing Kari's slight disappointment, Holy Dragonmon's heart ached.
Did Kari dislike me?
No!
No Digimon wants to feel rejected by their partner.
Holy Dragonmon looked pleadingly at Moss, asking,
"What did you do to Kari?!"
Moss pretended not to see, instead asking Chuumon,
"How long have we been separated?"
"Ten years," Chuumon replied.
Moss froze.
Looking back at Holy Dragonmon, she asked,
"The others—Tai Kamiya and the others—have been in this Digital World for ten years?"
Please tell me they didn't all turn dark...
