"Don't worry yet, but... Hagrid should have kept the dragon in his hut. How did Malfoy know that? He doesn't usually go to Hagrid's hut."
"Well..."
Harry scratched his head.
How should he answer this?
Could it be that when he and Ron were talking about Norbert, they were a little too loud... so they were accidentally overheard by Malfoy passing by?
Harry was a little embarrassed, but he was very anxious.
He looked at Dylan, who seemed completely calm. "Aren't you panicking?"
Dylan blinked, slightly surprised. "What's there to panic about?"
Harry was stunned. "Malfoy saw Hagrid feeding a dragon!"
Dylan nodded. "I know."
Harry took a deep breath and asked, "Dylan, you've studied spells so deeply. Do you know the Obliviate spell?"
"The Oblivion Charm? I've done some research on it."
Hearing Dylan's words, Harry's eyes widened with excitement. "Then go find Malfoy and cast a Forgetfulness Charm on him!"
"I heard from Hermione that to prevent Muggles from knowing about magic, the Ministry often uses the Oblivion Charm on them. Even if a Muggle sees a dragon, they forget everything!"
"I can't do that." Dylan shook his head and rejected Harry's proposal without hesitation. "If I use the Oblivion Charm on Malfoy, the professors at Hogwarts will most likely find out, and I might get expelled for harming a fellow student."
"Even the pure-blood wizard backing Malfoy might drag me to Azkaban."
Harry was stunned. "Is it that serious?"
Dylan shrugged. "Oblivion has side effects. Don't you think the professors won't notice?"
"What should we do..." Harry looked frustrated. "If we don't help Hagrid, he'll definitely be taken to Azkaban!"
Dylan reached out and closed the book in front of him.
"I told you, Harry, don't panic. There's actually a solution."
"What?" Harry looked up in surprise. "Dylan, what can you do?"
Dylan glanced around before lowering his voice. "Don't talk yet, come with me."
He packed up his books and led Harry toward Hagrid's hut.
Harry was curious about what Dylan had in mind but held back his questions until they arrived at Hagrid's hut.
Dylan knocked on the door. Hagrid answered, then opened it.
Inside, Ron and Hermione were already there.
"Dylan said he has a way to save Hagrid!" Harry blurted as soon as they stepped in.
"What? What method? Is Dylan going to use the Oblivion Charm on Malfoy?" Ron asked.
"That's too risky. If the professors find out, Dylan will be in danger!" Hermione frowned.
In Hagrid's arms was a small black dragon. The moment it saw Dylan, it chirped and flapped its tiny wings excitedly.
"It looks like it likes you, Dylan," Hagrid said, surprised. "I've never seen it so excited before."
"Maybe I just attract magical creatures." Dylan smiled faintly, scanning the room.
In truth, he had two ways to help Hagrid solve the dragon problem.
The first was to immediately write a letter to Ron's brother Charlie, asking him to take the Norwegian Ridgeback to the dragon sanctuary in Romania. Dylan could then use the Imperius Curse to make everyone believe the dragon was taken away while secretly keeping it himself.
The second option was to tell Hagrid that he had a way to hide Norbert at Hogwarts without anyone discovering it.
This way, he and Hagrid would share the secret. Hagrid could take on the responsibility of feeding the dragon, and if he wanted to visit, they could release it in the Forbidden Forest. This would allow Dylan to explore the Forbidden Forest more freely.
Both methods had their risks. The first meant Dylan would bear all responsibility alone. The second involved trusting Hagrid, who had a big mouth and might accidentally leak information.
Dylan glanced at Hagrid, who was watching him intently.
After considering the risks, he decided the second option was safer. While the first method kept the dragon a complete secret, it required using the Imperius Curse on Ron's brother, which could cause trouble later.
"It's better to let Hagrid know. At least if there's a problem, we can share the responsibility."
Dylan raised his head and looked at Hagrid. "I found a spell in an ancient magic book."
"It allows me to form a contract with Norbert, placing him in a special space—I call it the pet space."
"This means I don't need a magical pet box—those are expensive and unaffordable. Norbert will be safe, and no professor will be able to find him."
"What?" Ron's eyes widened. "That's incredible!"
Harry was surprised, realizing Dylan had been prepared all along. Hermione frowned. "Where did you read about this spell? What is it called? Is it ancient magic?"
"Just now," Dylan hesitated before blinking. "Sorry, I forgot."
Hermione: Can you make up a worse excuse?
Dylan smiled softly, ignoring her skepticism. He knew they wouldn't betray him since exposing the secret meant sending Hagrid to Azkaban.
Hagrid, holding Norbert, looked stunned. "There's really such a spell?"
"Can I learn it?"
Dylan resisted the urge to roll his eyes. "No."
"This is a spell I created, and only I can use it."
Hagrid looked disappointed. Dylan softened his stance. "It's tied to divination. I accidentally created it while studying Transfiguration, Summoning, and Divination spells."
Hermione still looked skeptical, but Dylan didn't care. By the time she grew skilled enough to question him, he'd already be too influential in the magical world to be challenged.
"So," Dylan continued, "you have a choice. Either let Ron's brother take Norbert to Romania, where he may not survive, or let me keep him safe."
Hagrid hesitated, then shook his head furiously. "No, I don't want to send Norbert away!"
Dylan nodded approvingly. "Exactly. If you want, I can take Norbert to the Forbidden Forest to see you. You'll even be responsible for feeding him. What could be better?"
Hagrid's eyes lit up. "I'd love that!"
"So I'll try the spell. It might not work, but we have a backup plan."
"Dylan, you're amazing!" Ron exclaimed. "You're a true Gryffindor!"
Dylan ignored him, focusing on Hagrid. "So, what do you say?"
"I believe in you, Dylan! The professors will be so impressed!"
Hermione still looked uneasy. "But will the spell really work? Can you guarantee it won't harm Norbert?"
"I swear on my magic," Dylan said solemnly.
"Alright," Hermione sighed, "I trust you."
Ron then asked, "But how will you feed Norbert as he grows? Hagrid's salary isn't enough for a dragon."
"Don't worry," Dylan said. "If Hagrid can't afford it, I will."
"I have plenty of money," Harry offered. "I'll help too."
Dylan smiled. "Then I'll thank you on Hagrid's behalf."
Harry blinked. "You're welcome."
Hermione sighed. "Alright, Dylan, are you casting the spell now?"
Dylan approached Hagrid. The small dragon chirped excitedly, straining toward him.
Dylan's eyes flashed with a brief flicker of enthusiasm.
"Let's see if this works. If not, we'll figure something out."
