Law found a secure hiding spot before answering his Transponder Snail.
"Law, I did as you asked and dismissed the Warlord System. When will you return Diamante's heart?" Donquixote Doflamingo's voice was audible, but it clearly held no joy.
Law sneered. "Doflamingo, that's quite the trick! You stepped down, only to let Trebol take over. How is that any different from you staying put?"
Doflamingo sounded proud. "Law, I fulfilled your request. You wouldn't go back on your word, would you?"
Law wasn't bothered. "I'm a man of my word. I'll be heading to the New World soon. You can send someone to collect the heart then. But don't think this means you've won. Be careful those hearts aren't stolen before they even make it back to Dressrosa!"
"Law, what more do you want!" Doflamingo demanded.
"Nothing, just a simple warning," Law replied. "Your family won't last much longer. The Five Emperors are coming soon. Have you thought about how you'll deal with that?"
Doflamingo fell silent. This was indeed his biggest problem. While he might have cleverly outmaneuvered Law in the short term, the fundamental threat remained. Law was guiding the Straw Hats straight toward Dressrosa, and the Doflamingo Family was in danger. That kind of danger might be too much, even if Kaido were to intervene, because the Straw Hats now had a group that amounted to Double Emperors.
Additionally, the growth of Roronoa Zoro, Black Leg Sanji, and Law himself had been terrifyingly fast.
How could he possibly overcome this emerging Five Emperors threat?
Law waited for a moment for Doflamingo's reaction, then simply hung up the Snail. He was looking forward to seeing Doflamingo's face when he was truly desperate.
Meanwhile, in the Ryugu Kingdom, Carl received a call from Sabo.
They had been sailing the seas for a while, making radio waves too unstable for a connection, but now they could finally talk.
"Carl, are you all right?" Sabo asked, sounding worried.
"I'm fine; everyone is still alive and kicking," Carl replied with a yawn. "How about you? Tell me everything that happened."
"Oh, we managed to break into Mariejois…" Sabo began to describe the raid. He had personally led a team to attack the holy land. Surprisingly, neither a Marine Admiral nor an Army Admiral was there. Even Kong and the masters of the CP organizations were absent. Because of this, they were practically unopposed.
The Revolutionary Army raided the Celestial Dragons' main warehouse and successfully freed most of the slaves.
To avoid completely provoking the World Government, the Revolutionary Army had tried to be measured in their actions. However, the Celestial Dragons proved to be quite fragile. Several were killed after being stabbed in the back, and one was even killed by a single, powerful attack.
The Revolutionary Army members were terrified and had almost no excuse for the deaths.
Sabo and the others had no choice but to retreat. They couldn't kill all the Celestial Dragons; that would definitely force the Five Elders to take direct action, which would be disastrous.
So, they simply roughed up a few more of the Celestial Dragons and set a few things on fire.
The most difficult part of the raid was rescuing Bartholomew Kuma. He had been a plaything for the Celestial Dragons and had no mind left at all, making him very hard to deal with. Sabo had to use a massive attack to knock Kuma unconscious so they could quickly take him away.
As soon as they left, Sengoku rushed to the scene. Sabo and his team barely avoided running right into him.
The attack on Mariejois was a huge victory. They rescued their comrade, gained a significant amount of money, and recruited many new fighters. The Revolutionary Army was definitely going to see a major increase in power because of this.
"Oh, by the way, we also found ten Devil Fruits," Sabo added like he was presenting a great treasure. "Devil Fruits are usually so hard to find, but with the radar you gave us, it was effortless! It was a real windfall!"
Carl immediately asked, "Were there any good ones? Like the Bottle-Bottle Fruit or the Bag-Bag Fruit I mentioned last time?"
Those kinds of utility fruits were what Marie wanted. They would make it easier for her to carry biscuits and tea. Carl had also considered other possibilities, like storing sunlight or food, which would be incredibly convenient.
"Unfortunately, none of the fruits you wanted were there," Sabo apologized. "Plus, the Leader took many of the others, ready to use them when the time is right."
"It's alright," Carl said. "We're not that demanding anyway."
Carl glanced at Marie and realized he was starting to prefer that she not eat a Devil Fruit. Based on her performance during the Summit War and the fight against the encirclement at Sabaody Archipelago, Marie's unique superpower seemed more suitable for cultivation and was not weaker than a Devil Fruit.
So, not eating a fruit should be fine.
Marie just listened and sipped her tea, her expression blank.
Nami's eyes, however, had turned into Berry symbols. Ten Devil Fruits were worth at least $1$ billion Berry. And if they raided the Celestial Dragons' warehouse, there had to be a huge amount of cash.
Tens of billions, hundreds of billions, maybe even a trillion!
"Wait, you raided the Celestial Dragons' warehouse," Carl asked, following Nami's thoughts. "You must have gotten a ton of money?"
"Yeah, we did get a lot," Sabo confirmed, sounding a little defeated. "But we only managed to raid three Celestial Dragons' personal vaults. We couldn't take any more! They have too much treasure. Just those three allowed us to harvest $500$ billion Berry."
"That's such a waste! Couldn't you have tried harder and moved all the warehouses?" Carl scolded him.
Sabo was actually worried about the same thing. $500$ billion might seem like a lot, but if they really wanted to start a global revolution, it probably wouldn't be enough.
After retreating from Mariejois, Sabo couldn't help but want to kick himself. As Carl said, it would have been amazing to take all the Celestial Dragons' vaults. Then, they wouldn't have to worry about money at all and could have started the revolution with full momentum.
The more he thought about it, the more he regretted it.
But there was nothing he could do. The attack on Mariejois was put together in a rush. They didn't have many people with them, and none of them had special abilities that would let them carry enormous amounts of cargo. Taking away $500$ billion was already a huge accomplishment.
Regret was useless now. He could only wait for the next opportunity.
"By the way, a user of a certain target Devil Fruit is going to die soon," Carl told Sabo. "You can look for that fruit when it reappears. It should be useful to you."
"Oh, we'll keep an eye out," Sabo replied. "But right now, we're focused on finding the Multiply-Multiply Fruit. That fruit has huge strategic importance for us! Honestly, you killed Byrnndi World and didn't even tell me. I found out about it too late, and I might have missed the Multiply-Multiply Fruit!" Sabo complained.
The Multiply-Multiply Fruit?!
Carl immediately slapped his forehead.
Indeed, that fruit's strategic significance was immense. How could he have forgotten it?
