Chapter 4 - Chapter 4.

Mr. Jason went on to explain the given notes after a brief pause.

The day passed by in a blur and it was soon time to go home.

The English tutor who was still in class left the class five minutes before the closing bell.

Madison sighed heavily as the siren rang out signifying the end of classes hours. With her books all packed, she left the class with Lena by her side who was given her a scrutinizing gaze.

Are you okay; asked Lena, noticing her friend spacing out time after time during classes hours and she still looks nothing different than she did earlier even after school hours.

Concerned and curious, she asked her but Madison just gave her a sideway glance, pursed her lips and didn't reply to her question.

You should go first, your car must already be waiting outside; said Madison after Lena probed again.

Turning to the opposite direction from where they were going, Madison left and walked back leaving Lena standing there, staring at her back. She stayed there for some time even after she disappeared from her sight. She wanted to go after her friend but even more so, she was angry so she decided to leave after sometime.

On the other hand, Madison went back to sit at one of the summer hut near the lecture halls and sat there for some time. She was confused herself and didn't know how to reply when Lena asked her so she just decided to give herself some space. She knew Lena will be angry with her but she really wasn't in the mood to say anything. She was self aware and knew she was wrong in this so she made a note to try and make it up to her tommorow; thought Madison to herself.

She sat for some time and got up to leave when she was sure Lena would be gone.

Sure enough, she didn't see Lena as she made her way back to the school's gate. She let out a sigh of relief.

At this point, most of the students had already left making it easy to spot her driver, Ben who was holding a phone to his ears, probably calling her and as if in tune, her phone vibrated as soon as she had that thought. The call was caught off as soon as it started as Ben had also noticed her.

Hi, greeted Madison as she got to him. Hello, how was your day; asked Ben with a smile. Fine, responded Madison pushing her thoughts to the back of her head. She opened the car's door and got inside as Ben walked to the other side of the car.

The ride home was quiet with a bit more traffic on the road than this morning so they got home 30 minutes later.

.......

Madison entered through the doors of the mansion which was already opened which surprised her a bit because their doors were always closed due to security reasons even though they were sure of their safety and had enough security but as the saying goes, prevention is better than cure. It is always best to stop a situation from occuring if there is a way to prevent it.

The family's head which is her father was very meticulous and thorough in his dealings leaving no stone unturned to ensure that everything was clear and in order. He went the extra mile to make sure everything was well taken care of. There by, ensuring a thorough completion.

For this reason, it was very difficult to catch him off guard or unaware.

Madison, overwhelmed with her many thoughts brushed the issue aside and entered. However she was surprised to see her second older brother, Kennett on the couch in the living room. He seemed to have gotten here not long ago.

Madison liked this brother of hers and seeing him cleared a lot of her thoughts. Kennett is taking his studies abroad and thus, he rarely came home unless on some special occasions so seeing him here was a surprise and a relief for her. Surprised that she wasn't aware he'll be coming and relieved because she's got someone to keep her company for some time. He seem to be a Godsent gift after all the turmoil she's gone through today.

At this point, Kennett had noticed his sister and stood up to welcome her with a smiling face.

Putting her thoughts away, Madison rushed into her brother's arms and hugged him, giggling for a short while and stopped after sometime, still in his arms.

This continued for over 2 minutes and Kennett, familiar with his sister's behavior, allowed her to stay like that till she let him go, knowing she needed this hug.

He then placed his hand on her long blonde hair, ruffling it, he said; Why don't you go upstairs and clean yourself up, then we'll talk. I'm here for you, okay.
