Chapter 137 - Chapter 136: Blue Bone Glaze

Chapter 136: Blue Bone Glaze

The scarlet eye of the Blue Bone Glaze closed and vanished.

Xia Feng, hidden in the shadows, shifted his gaze to the red-robed man lying on the ground, gasping for breath.

The mysterious man wore a blood-eyed mask. He removed it and vomited black blood, his body trembling as if still gripped by terror.

Xia Feng saw clearly now—this was a young man with a pallid face and a lip stud, his features handsome.

Excluding this encounter, Xia Feng had seen him twice before: once outside the Anubis Realm, and again just moments ago. Judging by the symbol on the mask, he was likely a member of the Burning Heaven Temple.

Moreover, a strange scarlet eye had been following him, its aura at least six-eyed in strength. To be guarded by such a thing suggested his status was far from ordinary.

Xia Feng lingered in the darkness, his eyes flickering with murderous intent as he weighed the feasibility of killing this man and assuming his identity.

But after a moment's consideration, he suppressed the impulse and settled back to observe.

Geng Gui lay drenched in sweat. It took him a long while to regain his composure. Once he did, he replaced his mask and let out a sigh. "What rotten luck! This Peach Organization and I must be cursed. Nothing good ever happens when I cross paths with them."

Struggling to his feet, he staggered toward a red apricot tree behind the sign. The blood eye θ on his mask glowed as he aimed it at the tree trunk's center, his voice hoarse and hurried:

"Hey—anyone there? I'm out of spiritual pressure. Open the door."

The words barely left his lips before his strength gave out, and he slumped against the trunk.

Four or five seconds later, a crimson light door materialized beside the tree. A woman stepped through—tall, wearing a sun hat, a white backless dress, and sharp high heels. Her sunglasses hid her eyes as she glanced down, her soft voice icy:

"Geng Gui. This is the second time. Explain. What happened now?"

"Teacher Cang." Geng Gui leaned weakly against the trunk. "The orphanage… it's gone."

"What?" The woman's frown deepened. "Elaborate."

Geng Gui rasped, "First Harmony Orphanage was obliterated—destroyed by divine relics. The Sky God is dead. I barely escaped under Scarlet's protection, but even Scarlet has fallen into a deep sleep."

Silence.

Then, the woman's voice tightened. "Geng Gui, are you certain you're not under an illusion? That was a seven-eyed disaster realm."

"I'm lucid, Teacher Cang. You need to report this to the Garden's owner immediately. With the supply base destroyed, the master's plans could be compromised."

"Do you know who did it?"

Geng Gui swallowed hard, fear still raw in his voice. "Yes. The two newest members of the Peach Organization."

"..."

Teacher Cang's breath hitched. "Peach again?"

Her eyes narrowed behind her sunglasses, her gentle tone now razor-sharp. "It seems this organization has set its sights on us."

After a pause, she shook her head. "No matter. I'll inform the Garden's owner. But first—can you still move? I need you to capture someone."

"Capture who?" Geng Gui blinked sluggishly. "I thought we were halting abductions with the military cracking down on District 51?"

"Not a lady this time. A student named Xia Feng."

"Xia Feng…?" Geng Gui's brow furrowed. "Sounds familiar."

"Mu Qingtong's fiancé. Boundless Academy's youngest genius." Teacher Cang smirked. "Someone in the Garden has taken an interest in this prodigy. So? Are you fit for the task?"

Geng Gui let his head thud against the trunk. "Teacher Cang, send someone else for trivial jobs like this. I need rest."

"Fine."

The woman didn't press further. With a snap of her slender fingers, a hunched figure emerged from the light door behind her—an elderly woman wearing a blood-eyed θ mask.

"Granny Ding. You'll handle this."

"Yes." The old woman's voice was a dry rasp.

Teacher Cang and Geng Gui stepped through the light door, leaving the dark path in silence once more.

...

Xia Feng watched the hunched woman's retreating back, then glanced again at the bloodstained sign: "No Entry for Unauthorized Personnel."

After a moment's thought, he hurried home.

Granny Ding had just reached the foot of Xia Feng's apartment building when she spotted a familiar figure approaching.

Leaning on her cane, she shuffled forward and offered a kindly grin. "Child, want to earn some money?"

Xia Feng blinked. "Yes."

"Granny knows a wonderful place. Pays 20,000 a month. Hehe… interested?" Her smile stretched unnaturally wide.

"Really?" Xia Feng's eyes sparkled. "Let's go, Granny! I've been dying to make money!"

"…?" Granny Ding's grin faltered. This wasn't how it was supposed to go. Shouldn't he be suspicious?

When she didn't move, Xia Feng tilted his head. "What's wrong, Granny? Let's hurry! Oh—where's the job? What kind of work is it?"

"..."

Granny Ding sighed inwardly. Academy students these days were far too gullible.

But it made her job easier. She reshaped her face into a grandmotherly smile. "It's a waiter position in a lovely garden. Very simple work. Come with Granny."

Xia Feng followed her back to the restricted area.

"Granny, isn't this a military zone?" He feigned wide-eyed innocence.

"Don't worry. The people you'll serve are important figures." Granny Ding cackled, pressing her palm—emblazoned with a blood eye rune—into a groove on the tree trunk.

Then she gripped Xia Feng's shoulder and stepped forward.

The dark forest dissolved around them.

Before Xia Feng now stretched an endless sea of green flowers, a soothing breeze carrying their fragrance. The scene was tranquil, almost euphoric.

Yet Xia Feng's brow furrowed. His spiritual pressure had stagnated—no spiritual clothes, no spirit weapons. Nothing responded.

Granny Ding's voice slithered into his ear. "This is a forbidden spirit zone. No spiritual abilities or weapons work here. Ensures our guests can… play without worry."

Granny Ding's murky eyes gleamed with an odd light as she peered up at Xia Feng. "Don't worry, there's no danger here. Come along with Grandma."

Xia Feng followed, his gaze darting around with feigned curiosity.

Though spiritual clothing was unusable here, it hardly mattered.

After all, he still possessed a seven-eyed disaster realm. Short of a god descending, he feared no one now.

Anyone who provoked him would find themselves dragged into his world—and tortured to death.

As they passed rows of flowers, Xia Feng studied the mysterious blue-white blossoms that reached past his knees.

The flowers were translucent as colored glaze, their stamens shimmering with an emerald glow. When the breeze stirred them, their petals brushed together with a faint, crystalline chime—like some celestial maiden plucking ethereal music by the Milky Way. The sound soothed weary minds.

"These flowers seem special," Xia Feng mused.

"This is Blue Bone Glaze." Granny Ding moved briskly, her mood oddly buoyant.

Blue Bone Glaze? The name was poetic. Xia Feng nodded. "And what do they do?"

"Don't ask too much. Stay close, and don't tread on them."

They passed through a towering semicircular archway adorned with Blue Bone Glaze. A flash of light later, Xia Feng felt a heat prickle between his brows—a clear pink vertical mark had appeared.

"This is your server's badge here," Granny Ding crooned, tilting her head with a grin. "This mark tells others you're staff."

"Oh?" Xia Feng blinked with practiced naivety. "How convenient."

Click—

Along the massive archway, two rows of near-transparent doors lined the walls. One swung open abruptly, and out stepped Teacher Cang in her white dress. She paused at the sight of them, her sunglasses tipping slightly as she assessed Xia Feng. A slow curve touched her lips.

"You're back early. The park hasn't opened yet—take him to Room 109 first."

"Yes, ma'am!"

Granny Ding bowed deeply, then led Xia Feng down a long corridor before opening a door.

Inside, the room resembled a five-star suite—spacious, opulent.

Xia Feng moved toward the bed—

SLAM.

The door shut behind him.

He turned, feigning confusion.

The old woman stood rigid, her lips twitching into a smile. Her wrinkled hands trembled.

Then, under Xia Feng's confused gaze, she began trembling as she took off her coat.

"???"

She must think I'm cold and wants to give me her coat… right?

Xia Feng thought to himself, Maybe there are still good people in this messed-up organization.

But then he noticed—was she trying to take off her pants too?

He couldn't hold back anymore and asked politely, "Um… Grandma Ding, what are you doing?"

"Fucking you!"

Grandma Ding twisted her lips into a wicked grin and let out an obscene laugh.

"..."

Xia Feng, normally calm and unshaken even in dangerous situations, had seen his fair share of bizarre things. This? Just a minor issue.

Yeah… just a small problem, he told himself, stepping back as he prepared to say something to de-escalate the situation and protect his innocence.

But suddenly, Grandma Ding leapt into the air and lunged at him.

"Hehehe~ Little man~ Come into grandma's arms~"

Xia Feng dodged to the side in a flash, inwardly cursing—this wasn't how the infiltration plan was supposed to go!

Grandma Ding, clearly obsessed, kept lunging at him while letting out perverted giggles.

What the hell is this?! Xia Feng's expression darkened. He didn't care anymore about blowing his cover—he swung a punch directly at her face.

With a scream, her figure distorted and overlapped. Her weak mental strength was no match for the blood beast, which devoured her instantly. In her final moments, her terrified, confused eyes watched her body melt into the floor's shadow.

Tap—

The blood-eyed mask dropped and Xia Feng instinctively caught it.

At that moment, a soft, faint voice echoed in his mind.

"Xiao Feng."

It was a familiar woman's voice—one buried deep within his memories.
