Chapter 17 - Escape Again!

The room was so dark it was impossible to see anything. Axel crawled on the floor, trying to feel his way around, until he managed to reach the wall. Then, he moved toward the right, where the door should be…

As soon as he felt the frame, he stood up, trying to shake Nasir off himself. Which was difficult, because the Omega clung to him as if attached with super glue! But he couldn't go out like that, or else it would undoubtedly lead to some… complications if they were spotted. So, he pushed and pulled, until Nasir dropped down on the floor. Then, he quickly dipped out of the door, pushed Nasir's hand that reached out toward him out of the way, and shut the door close. Once he was separated by the thick wooden door, he could finally breathe out a sigh of relief…

Only to realize that something was off just a moment later.

It was still dark around. Even though he was supposed to get out into the bright hallway.

Axel blinked a few times, his eyes slowly getting used to the darkness. Although the room he was in was dark, faint moonlight still seeped through the window. It wasn't much, and his vision was blurry due to his rut fever, but it was enough to help him realize his situation.

He was in the bathroom.

It was bad, really bad. While it was undoubtedly an improvement from earlier - at least Nasir couldn't cling to him, and as long as Axel wouldn't completely lose his mind from the pheromones and unlock the door, nothing would happen between them. But if they were to be found together in the room, separated by the door or not, both in such an aroused state… Well, Axel wasn't clear-headed enough to properly consider the consequences, but he was still at least able to tell they wouldn't be pleasant for him.

Thus, he needed to escape. The problem was that Nasir was still by the door, whining and moaning and releasing his pheromones… Turning himself into an obstacle too difficult to pass for an Alpha in a rut.

…This was terrible. Although it seemed it was just an accident, an unfortunate coincidence, the Keller family would probably use this situation to their advantage. Marrying into the Chandler family was one of the most suitable options for Nasir, and unlike Axel, the Kellers weren't concerned about what was good for Ollie in the slightest.

Just then, all of a sudden, an idea hit him. He rushed toward the window, and after struggling with the handle for a while, he pushed it wide open, taking a look outside.

It… wasn't that high. Or was it? Honestly, Axel couldn't really tell, he wasn't used to jumping from heights or window escapes. But it was only the second floor, and there were bushes right underneath… If he was careful, and climbed down, or at least lowered himself a bit, then it should be fine, right? Nothing serious would happen if he fell, right? Maybe just a broken bone or two, but that was better than being forced to marry Nasir…

And so, he took a deep breath, and bravely climbed onto the windowsill, before lowering himself on the other side. Clumsily, he searched with his feet for something to step on. He eventually managed to find something, although very narrow, and moved his body weight…

But Axel was no climber. Climbing down a building wall would be challenging when he was at his best, let alone when his head was all muddled up.

Of course he slipped.

He hardly even realized what was happening. One moment, he was still hanging from the windowsill, and the next, he was down in the bushes, covered up in countless scratches.

After a good while, and countless blinking, his situation awareness got partially restored, and he scrambled up to get out of the bushes, tearing his suit in multiple places in the process. Or tearing it up further, to be precise, as the thorny bushes didn't treat it well from the moment he fell on them, unwelcome. It was a good thing that as an Alpha, he was naturally strong and with good endurance, and now in his rut, he could hardly feel any ache besides throbbing in his crotch, or else he'd be hissing from pain. Not only was he scratched up to the point of bleeding in multiple places, but there was also something wrong with his leg…

Still, he stumbled forward, searching for the exit from the garden. Although technically he didn't have to run any longer, since he had already escaped from Nasir, he could no longer think straight. All that was on his mind was to get away as far as possible, so that no lustful Omega could catch up to him…

He eventually reached a metal gate, that was luckily (or perhaps not) left unlocked, and he stumbled out onto a quiet residential street. As trying to return to the celebrations in his current state was not an option, the best thing to do would be to return home… Axel reached out to his pocket for his phone, in order to call his driver…

Except that there was no pocket. He didn't have his jacket on. Now that he thought about it, he could vaguely recall that he left it somewhere at the venue…

Going to the front to find their limo driver wasn't an option. It would be bad if he were to be spotted by one of the guests. He already had an illegitimate child with an 'unknown Omega', so there was a lot of pressure on him not to make any more 'mistakes', as it would further damage his reputation…

Of course, he could have just hidden somewhere in the garden, and waited until the guests all left. His parents would undoubtedly have realized that he was gone by then, and would have organized a discreet search party. This way, the whole fiasco could be resolved without the outsiders' knowledge.

Unfortunately, such an idea didn't pass through Axel's head, and he started limping down the street, in the direction he assumed the Chandler mansion was. He walked for what felt like forever, but probably wasn't more than ten or fifteen minutes, his pheromones leaking out and getting caught in the light, chilly breeze…

When all of a sudden, not far away from him, a black motorcycle pulled over, and a black-clad person got off.
