It had truly been a close call.
If Axel hadn't been able to escape that room the night before, he would now be on his way to the altar. Perhaps not literally, but that was not the point.
Nasir had been way too close to becoming his spouse.
Axel was getting goosebumps at the mere thought.
He would never, ever, leave the house during his rut without making sure that he had a pack of suppressants with him. Or perhaps two packs, in case he somehow lost the first pack. This incident had scared (and embarrassed) him for the rest of his life.
Speaking of the suppressants, though…
Axel stumbled into his room, and glanced around the floor. He checked the desk, the dresser, the bathroom…
But his suppressants were nowhere to be found. There was a pack in one of the drawers, but it was a new one, still unopened. The pack that he had used the evening before seemed to have disappeared.
