Chapter 483 - Chapter 483: My Flying Castle!!

When the Hogwarts Express arrived at its destination, Wade said goodbye to his friends and returned to the safe house with Tom.

Old Tom and Mr. and Mrs. Riddle were all there.

Until Grindelwald completely resolved the situation, they would continue staying there temporarily.

After greeting everyone, Wade picked up his suitcase and prepared to leave almost at once.

"You're not staying here?" Tom asked.

Wade stood in front of the fireplace with the suitcase in hand, already ready to go.

"No. You know my castle is already finished. I have somewhere else to stay. I've already given you the ring, so you know how to find me. For now, spend some time with your family."

With that, Wade stepped into the fireplace and disappeared in a rush of green flame.

...

After leaving the safe house, Wade did not go to the laboratory in Knockturn Alley.

Instead, he found an unremarkable hill in the countryside, far enough from any road that nobody was likely to wander past.

While Wade began setting up protective enchantments around the summit, Toby cleared a large open area at the top of the hill.

Wade then used magic to level the ground before using Transfiguration to harden the flattened earth until it would hold.

Once the ground was firm enough, he took out a small pot, set it down, and placed a piece of mithril inside it.

"Lucifer," Wade called.

Orange flames flew out from the oil lamp at his waist and drifted beneath the pot, rapidly heating it. Before long, the mithril melted into liquid.

Once Wade saw that there was enough molten mithril in the pot, he lightly waved his wand over it.

A thin strand of mithril suddenly emerged from the liquid and hung in the air.

Under Wade's control, the mithril thread descended onto the ground and quickly formed an enormous, intricate magic circle across the cleared summit.

After everything was finished, Wade put the pot away and stepped back.

"Toby, stand guard outside."

"Yes, Young Master Wade!"

Wade opened the suitcase and climbed down through the entrance into the space inside.

Inside, Tom Cat and Jerry were idly roasting meat outside the castle, with nothing better to do.

The moment they saw Wade enter, they ran over excitedly. Tom Cat even tried to curry favour by spearing a piece of half-cooked beef and offering it to him.

"Thanks, but I'm not hungry. I'm moving the castle outside today. Are you two coming out?" Wade asked.

Tom Cat and Jerry nodded eagerly. Although the space inside the suitcase was enormous, they had long since grown tired of staying there day after day.

"All right... Lucifer," Wade called.

An orange figure once again flew out of the oil lamp at Wade's waist, hovering before him like a will-o'-the-wisp.

"Go on. Activate the castle," Wade said with a smile.

"At once!"

Lucifer shot forward and plunged directly into the miniature castle.

The next second, the castle suddenly trembled, then slowly began to rise unsteadily into the air. It stopped once it was hovering about half a metre above the ground.

Wade took out the Elder Wand, crouched down, and lightly touched one of the ancient runes carved into the ground.

The rune instantly lit up with an eerie blue glow beneath his wand.

The blue light slowly spread outward until an enormous glowing magic circle appeared beneath the castle.

It looked very similar to the one Wade had drawn outside on the hill.

"If I hadn't needed the magic circle to cover the entire castle, I might never have thought of adding the ability to shrink and enlarge it..." Wade murmured.

At that moment, the blue light reached its brightest point and held there.

Whoosh!

A massive surge of magic erupted, blasting Tom Cat and Jerry away from the circle.

Wade remained standing where he was, but his wizarding robes billowed violently in the magical wind.

When the dust finally settled, the castle that had been standing in the centre of the magic circle was nowhere to be seen.

The once-glowing magic circle had also completely dimmed.

Wade turned, and in the next instant, he appeared outside the suitcase on the hill.

He looked up and saw the castle hovering directly above the magic circle he had drawn outside.

Wade flicked his wand downward.

"Descend."

The miniature castle slowly lowered itself onto the now-dark magic circle and settled there.

"Return to your original size," Wade said.

The moment he finished speaking, the miniature castle began rapidly expanding in every direction.

Tom Cat and Jerry had only just climbed out of the suitcase when it started.

Toby stepped forward, closed the suitcase on the ground, then picked it up and came to stand behind Wade.

By then, the castle had completely returned to its original size.

It did not look particularly large, but it was just big enough to occupy the entire summit of the hill.

Of course, in the wizarding world, the size of a building's interior could never be judged by its exterior, and this castle was no exception.

Wade entered the castle with Tom Cat and Jerry following close behind him.

The room on the highest floor had been reserved specifically for Wade.

Alduin was already standing on the balcony, while Lucifer burned inside the fireplace.

As soon as Wade entered, Lucifer flew out of the fireplace to meet him.

The entire castle was powered by Lucifer, but because Gubraithian Fire never went out, he did not need to remain inside the power core at all times. He only needed to split off a portion of his flames to control the energy centre.

"Are we taking off, sir?" Lucifer shouted excitedly.

"Mm. Let's do it."

"At once!"

Lucifer flew back into the fireplace, and flames began spreading through the network of ancient runes running throughout the castle.

Boom!

Wade felt the castle beneath his feet tremble slightly as the runes took hold.

Then he noticed that a distant mountain peak outside the window seemed to be slowly sinking lower.

He walked onto the balcony and looked down over the edge.

Everything on the ground was gradually becoming smaller as the castle rose.

"Lucifer, invisibility."

"At once!"

The next second, the slowly rising castle gradually vanished into thin air, leaving nothing visible above the hill.
