Nikolas stared at Selene, her eyes wide open as her gaze dropped to his bloodied hand.
The same hand he had angrily used to punch a hole through his mother's wall the night he had gone searching for answers, the same hand he had slammed repeatedly against his own walls in rage. But he didn't care about that now.
All he cared about was the woman standing at his door, her soft waves let loose down her shoulders. He always loved it when she wore her hair down.
Her hands were now free,dropped to her sides as the files she was holding scattered across the floor.
He felt, a thin smile creep up his lips as he fixed his gaze on her, feeling the empty shell in his chest crack open, as warmth slipped into the cracks,flooding his chest.
Suddenly, for the first time in days, he felt himself being lifted from the darkness that he had been drenched in,and nothing else mattered.
