The words echoed through his head, burning deep into his brain like wildfire. But still, he didn't want to believe them. He couldn't let them consume him.
Nikolas stood up immediately, shaking his head sideways,refusing to believe it.
Refusing to believe that his father, was that kind of man.
"No, no, no….you're lying," he barked. But that only made her tears flow even more.
The sight of her tears, made twisted his stomach into knots.But, why was she crying like it was true? Why wasn't she denying it, fighting back or even trying to defend her husband?
"I'm not, honey. I really wish I was," she said, lifting up her head,as she tried to wipe away the tears, but it was no use as they just kept flowing.
Nikolas drew in a deep breath, as he exhale the air shakily through his nostrils. His lungs struggling to keep up with the in and out breathing of his labored breathes.
This has to be a joke. Some sick, twisted joke.
