Chapter 942: Eiji at the Present Stage
So close!
Just one strike of his claws would be enough to tear him to shreds!
His arms were longer than his legs—this attack was absolutely guaranteed to hit!
With that thought, Borgot extended his silver claws, sharp enough to slice through metal and jade, toward the cloaked human!
Thud!
Eiji's expression remained indifferent as his right leg, resting beside Borgot's neck, gave a slight tremor.
Boom!
Borgot's legs gave way.
Abruptly, it was as if his legs no longer belonged to him. His body tilted and collapsed to the ground.
Those claws hadn't even managed to touch Eiji before they fell short. In Borgot's eyes, that brief distance suddenly seemed like an insurmountable chasm.
Borgot's eyes clouded with confusion.
He lay on the ground with Eiji's foot positioned near his head, as if deliberately being stepped on. In that single moment, his pride was utterly shattered!
"You fairies, having lived for centuries, have wasted all those years."
The man sat on the throne, even propping his elbow on the armrest. He didn't just seem to be holding back—he appeared completely nonchalant, as if he hadn't even taken the fight seriously.
"All that brute strength, yet none of you know how to wield it properly. Every one of you is like a nouveau riche!"
To be fair, Eiji's strength was only on par with Borgot's.
At this point in the Rakudai world, he had just returned to the Konosuba World and was amusing himself at Kazuma's house. Meanwhile, in the Strike the Blood world, he was still in the early stages of his plan to acquire the power of the Fourth True Ancestor, having just seized the Ninth Primordial.
In other words, he had only become a Demon just a few days prior.
His physical strength was at Lv.7 in the DanMachi World, and due to having broken through his limits, it was roughly equivalent to the early stages of Lv.8.
This level of strength wasn't particularly remarkable—at least not in the Type-Moon world, where powerhouses were a dime a dozen. Gawain's strength at three times its normal level was no weaker than his.
However, the gap in skill was simply too vast.
In just over half a year, Eiji had surpassed the divine realm in swordsmanship, reaching a level even Edelweiss, hailed as the pinnacle of the sword path, could not attain!
The difference between him and these centuries-old beings, who still relied on their self-taught combat styles, was like heaven and earth!
The disparity was so immense that Borgot and Barghest, whose strength was comparable to his, were defeated in an instant—and he hadn't even been serious!
"Had enough?"
"...So, you're the rumored Queen Consort?"
Borgot lay on the ground, the vibrational force transmitted through Eiji's foot leaving his entire body's nerves numb and paralyzed, making it impossible for him to even stand.
With great effort, he lifted his eyes. The cloaked figure above him, silhouetted against the sunlight, appeared so sacred and inviolable in that moment.
"If even the Fairy Knights Gawain and Lancelot couldn't defeat you, it's only natural that I lost... Do whatever you want—kill me, torture me—but don't think I'll ever submit!"
Four days had passed since the battle at the royal capital, and those who needed to know were already well-informed.
"Oh? Quite the stubborn one, aren't you?"
Eiji stomped down once more.
The vibrational force traveled through Borgot's bones and muscles, invading his internal organs. A sweet taste rose in his throat, and he immediately vomited a large pool of blood.
"Rest assured, I'm not here on behalf of the Queen. I intervened only to teach you a lesson."
"What?"
Boggart was about to glare angrily but found himself confused by this response.
"What exactly are you here for?"
He had assumed Eiji came under the Queen's orders to eliminate him as a rebel, and after his defeat had prepared himself for death.
But that wasn't the case?
Just here to teach him a lesson?
Where exactly did I offend you?
"Judging by your reaction, yesterday's assassination attempt against me probably wasn't your doing?"
"What are you talking about?"
Boggart looked completely bewildered.
Assassinate you?
I'm well aware you're strong enough to crush the Fairy Knights. I haven't even finished preparing my rebellion against the Queen - I'd have to be insane to risk angering her by attempting to assassinate you!
Even if I were to actually try to kill Eiji, I'd do it myself - no one else could possibly defeat you!
Though Boggart had a high opinion of himself, he was quite self-aware about his combat abilities, knowing he was at most on par with the Fairy Knights!
"Never mind, since it's unrelated to you, it doesn't matter. But I must warn you!"
Eiji bent down, his narrowed eyes forming dangerous curves.
The sharpness of that killing intent made Boggart shiver involuntarily.
"Do whatever you want with creating the Child of Prophecy, but if you dare lay a hand on that girl from earlier, don't blame me for chopping all five of your limbs into mincemeat like I did with Beryl, and force-feeding it to you!"
How vicious!
But, that girl from earlier?
Boggart understood instantly.
So he had accidentally targeted the junior, and now the senior came to seek vengeance?
"You're really not going to kill me?"
He still found it hard to believe.
"I told you, I'm not here representing the Queen."
Eiji lifted his foot and stood up from the throne.
"I have no grudge against you either. As long as you watch your words and actions, I won't do anything to you."
In fact, based on the brief experience in the wheat fields outside the city, Boggart had even managed Sheffield quite well, proving to be an excellent lord. Eiji had no reason to target him.
However, it seemed that at this stage, Gudao and the other Chaldea forces had already entered this Britain Lostbelt. Mash was probably acting together with them, but had become separated from Gudao in the Nameless Forest due to memory loss.
The amnesiac Mash had been found by the three Goblin brothers, while Gudao and the others were likely still wandering near the Nameless Forest.
Eiji reflected that as a member of Proper Human History, he too had the duty to eliminate this Lostbelt. It seemed necessary to make deeper contact with Chaldea later.
Moreover, he had originally been commissioned to resolve the "collapse" phenomenon of this Lostbelt, sent here from that Singularity!
He, the Queen, and everyone in this Lostbelt were inevitably mortal enemies!
Without Eiji's continued pressure, Boggart quickly regained control of his body and slowly climbed up from the ground.
"...So you're saying the Queen doesn't even consider me worth her attention?"
Boggart's eyes flashed with ferocity as he punched the ground hard, his expression full of bitterness.
He had risked execution to raise the banner of rebellion, yet the Queen hadn't even noticed him!
This hurt him more than if the Queen had sent someone to kill him!
He closed his eyes briefly, easing the surging anger in his heart.
"I understand. As repayment for letting me go, I will treat that girl from earlier as an honored guest and will not mention a single word about marriage or the like."
Borgut quickly regained his composure.
Though he appeared impulsive and quick-tempered, he knew when to hold on and when to let go—truly a decent lord.
"One more thing."
Eiji suddenly thought of something.
"What?"
Borgut remained expressionless.
"I've only been in this anomalous... world for a few days, and I know next to nothing about many things. You should properly enlighten me!"
Was it really that simple?
Borgut secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
"No problem."
