Chapter 943 - Chapter 943

Chapter 943: The So-Called "Child of Prophecy"

"Looking for my help to drive away the Mors?"

"Yes, Lord Mash!"

A fang clan fairy with a wolf-like appearance pleaded with Mash with a troubled expression.

"Mors are the natural enemies of fairies. Inside the city, it's fine—the walls are as sturdy as Camelot's, so Mors generally can't get in. But outside the city is terrible, especially now during the wheat harvest season. If we don't drive away the Mors, the humans in the city will have nothing to eat!"

"I see," Mash murmured, her expression showing she was somewhat persuaded.

"Wait a minute! How can we let our bride Mash do such rough work!"

But before Mash could respond, a petite fairy leaped up beside her.

Her miniature body, only two feet tall, looked like a human child. Her pink hair, longer than her body, sprawled lazily on the ground. Her red eyes glared fiercely at the fang soldier like a cat's.

"Isn't Sheffield supposed to have fang soldiers like you? You who boast that the Mors' curse has no effect on you should be enough, right? Or is the fang clan's claim of being immune to curses just empty talk?"

"Habetrot, even if you say that, I won't stoop to your level."

The fang soldier rolled his eyes. The two seemed familiar with each other, and the look he gave her was clearly one reserved for eccentric people.

"Lord Mash, it's true that we fang clan members have the toughest bodies among all fairies, so we do have some resistance to Mors. But the problem is, most fang clan members in the city have guard duties, and there are very few soldiers with free time. The wheat fields outside the city are simply too vast—we can't handle it alone. That's why we genuinely hope you can help us!"

The fairies of the fang clan all have faces no different from beastmen, along with equally tenacious constitutions.

Thus, they are hailed as the strongest clan, the backbone of Britain. Fang clan fairies typically take pride in this and look down on other fairies. Reasonable fang fairies like this one are actually quite rare.

"I understand. If there's somewhere I can be useful, please tell me directly!"

Mash readily agreed but then hesitated slightly.

"However, should we inform Mr. Bogart about this? After all, I seem to be treated as the Child of Prophecy now..."

In the great hall.

"It's fine. Just do as you please."

Bogart generously gave Mash the greatest degree of freedom.

"As long as you don't leave Sheffield arbitrarily, you're free to do whatever you like!"

"Thank you, Mr. Bogart!"

Mash showed a delighted smile and headed to the wheat fields outside the city with the fang soldier.

"Wait for me, Mash!"

The petite fairy hoisted her portable loom onto her shoulder, muttering "How can a bride do such things" with full resentment as she followed after them.

"But I'm not a bride now?"

Mash said this.

Although Bogart had said that yesterday, he soon sent someone to convey that "it was actually just a joke," which infuriated Habenyan, who was in charge of making the wedding dress. She exclaimed angrily about how anyone could treat marriage as a joke and secretly cursed him for a long time.

No one knew if this had anything to do with Bogart being severely beaten up yesterday.

"No, Mash isn't Bogart's bride, but she's still my bride!"

Habenyan smiled innocently, yet her words made little sense.

No wonder the soldiers of Fang considered her strange.

"Is that a lily fairy?"

Eiji's figure emerged from the rear of the hall.

"Yesterday, you mentioned that every fairy has their own purpose. Could it be that shorty fairy's purpose is lilies?"

Why is the eggplant-colored one so popular?

Should I intervene or not?

Tch, do you think I'm a babysitter?

"Indeed, every fairy has their own purpose for existence, like the core of a fairy. They live their entire lives for that purpose.Bogart clasped his hands behind his back, wearing the exact same suit as yesterday, showing no trace of the embarrassment from yesterday's beating.

"However, Habenyan's purpose isn't lilies—it's weaving. Her ideal is simply to create brides... Hmph, what a boring ideal!"

He sneered scornfully.

So that's it. This mini-fairy doesn't see Mash as a marriage partner but wants to turn her into a beautiful bride.

"Then, do you have any news about the true Child of Prophecy?"

Eiji shifted his focus to the matter at hand and inquired of Bogart.

"The Child of Prophecy—the last prophecy left by Einseel, the clan leader of the Mirror Clan, before disappearing—the savior who will overthrow the Queen's rule... If I had any news about the Child of Prophecy, I wouldn't need to push her into that position now!"

Bogart subtly observed Eiji.

He still wore his hood, making it impossible to see his expression, which left Bogart unable to calm his mind.

What exactly is this Queen Consort's goal?

Though he seemed to have come to help that girl named Mash—even going so far as to warn him not to lay a hand on her—Bogart had initially given up on pushing Mash into the role of the Child of Prophecy. Yet, Eiji then told him it wasn't necessary to hold back and to proceed with his original plan.

Does he truly care about this girl named Mash?

If he really cared, why would he personally push her into such a dangerous situation?

Though he had no right to say so, becoming the Child of Prophecy meant becoming a sworn enemy of Her Majesty the Queen, facing her pursuit and annihilation—it inherently carried immense risk!

This was no baseless rumor, for the prophecies of the Mirror Clan had never failed!

Every fairy of the Mirror Clan is born with foresight, knowing from birth all manner of events that would occur in the world. Such prophecies had helped the fairy kingdom overcome numerous calamities many times!

And sixteen years ago, Einseel, the clan leader of the Mirror Clan, left one final prophecy before disappearing.

The prophecy foretold that "the Child of Prophecy would overthrow the Queen's reign," a prediction the Queen took very seriously. Consequently, she had been searching throughout the kingdom for sixteen-year-old fairies and humans, hoping to overturn the prophecy in advance.

The Queen's army continues to hunt for the Child of Prophecy to this day.

And this also means the Queen has yet to find the true Child of Prophecy!

Should anyone suspected of being the Child of Prophecy appear, they would undoubtedly face the Queen's army's sharpest claws!

Under such circumstances, this Queen Consort actively pushed Mashu into the position of the Child of Prophecy—Boggart couldn't fathom what he was thinking at all!

"Could it be that he intends to use a fake Child of Prophecy to lure out the real one and eliminate them before they can grow?"

Boggart inwardly grumbled, but was that even possible?

Would the Child of Prophecy be foolish enough to willingly walk into danger?
