Chapter 1049: Why Do You All Know Already?

In this Lostbelt, fairies are the native species, while humans are defective beings whose genes have degraded to an unknown extent.

No wonder it became a pruned phenomenon.

To transfer the inhabitants of a Lostbelt to Proper Human History, the residents of that Lostbelt must be sufficiently "resilient" to withstand the impacts brought by changes in the world and environment.

Clearly, the humans here do not possess that resilience.

Therefore, the only ones capable of immigration are the fairies.

This is what Goetia meant.

Moreover, Fujimaru City is ultimately just a Singularity and will eventually be corrected by the world someday.

Even if they immigrate there, if the Singularity disappears, these fairies would still die without a burial place. This is likely the reason Goetia agreed so readily.

Unless, like him, someone among these immigrant fairies could create a Singularity single-handedly.

However, such a Singularity would not be acknowledged by the Counter Force and would ultimately fade into the river of history.

"It's too early to think about that now!"

Eiji shook his head, driving the distracting thoughts from his mind.

Better to first figure out the current timeline.

Eiji left the coast and stealthily entered Norwich.

He first went to Count Peperoncino's mansion, but there was no trace of the Chaldea team there. Even the count himself had gone out, and no one knew where he had gone.

Left with no choice, Eiji sought out another local.

"Looking for me?"

A lion-man covered in white fur greeted Eiji.

"You're living well, aren't you?"

Eiji glanced around the mansion.

Compared to the previously gloomy residence, this new mansion was much more spacious and luxurious.

"Hmph, thanks to you, I suppose I should thank you."

Boggart snorted coldly.

Stop it.

A male lion acting tsundere is completely unappealing.

Well, except for furries.

"I spread the news that Spriggan is human and that he murdered the previous lord. Combined with his neglect of the calamity a few days ago while focusing solely on business, the fairies in the city are naturally up in arms. They're all impeaching him now. Hmph, he must be overwhelmed—his days are numbered!"

Boggart couldn't hide his smug expression.

In contrast, he had mobilized all his resources during the calamity to help the city's fairies.

The difference in reputation among the citizens was like night and day!

Boggart was now practically the half-ruler of Norwich, with most fairies choosing to follow his commands rather than Spriggan's.

"But weren't you wanted because of the Sheffield incident?"

"...After the Fairy Knight Gawain arrived, I met with her. The Queen never issued a warrant for me or that Mashu from the start."

Mentioning this, Boggart couldn't help but flare up.

While most would consider this a blessing, in his highly prideful eyes, it was proof that the Queen didn't even regard him as a threat!

Eiji understood.

Many things hadn't seemed significant to him before.

But looking back now, everything had been predetermined all along.

He thought he had covered his tracks perfectly, but Morgan had likely been watching him from the very beginning. While she might not have known every detail about Sheffield's situation, she had undoubtedly seen through it long ago.

As for the matter of Mash being the false Child of Prophecy, she had been fully aware of it from the start.

And Boggart?

Just as he had guessed, Morgan probably didn't even consider him worth her attention.

Thinking this, Eiji suddenly felt a pang of guilt.

So she actually knew all along about the things I've been doing in secret?

"When did Barghest arrive?"

"You didn't know?"

Boggart gave him a puzzled look.

Out of gratitude for all the help Eiji had provided, Boggart briefly explained.

The Great Calamity had attacked Norwich.

That was three days ago.

Three days ago, shortly after Eiji defeated the Great Calamity, an order came from Camelot. The Queen commanded that Chaldea and the Child of Prophecy, who had vanquished the Great Calamity, come to the royal capital to be rewarded for their merits.

Two days ago, the Fairy Knight Gawain arrived in Norwich as an envoy and escorted the group away.

"By my estimate, they've probably reached the royal capital by now."

A mocking grin spread across Boggart's face.

"How naive of them to so easily believe the Queen's words! It's clearly a trap. They've likely already been beheaded by the Queen!"

"Your intelligence still has plenty of room for improvement, I see."

"Huh?"

Boggart was taken aback.

"You &%¥#&!"

Only then did he realize he was being insulted and burst out cursing.

Eiji chuckled lightly, picked up Mash, and stepped onto a golden light sword. In an instant, he soared into the sky and vanished into the horizon at supersonic speed.

The battle in Norwich was over.

Artoria should have been able to ring the bell by now, but no one in Norwich was talking about it.

This meant they had postponed ringing the bell in Norwich, just as they had in Salisbury, out of concern that doing so might turn their relationship with the Queen hostile.

Having experienced so many Singularities and Lostbelts, Chaldea couldn't possibly be that naive. They must have secured an escape route.

And as for Morgan… she wasn't the type to use deceit against her enemies.

She always defeated her foes in direct combat.

She had her own pride.

Until she decided to make them her enemies, she likely wouldn't take action against Chaldea.

However, her inaction didn't mean others wouldn't try to move against them.

"Besides, it's time for me to return. I can't keep her waiting too long…"

Eiji raced toward Camelot at top speed.

Just a few minutes later.

The golden light sword, like a hypersonic missile, crossed most of Britain's sky and arrived above Camelot.

"Why are all of you gathered here?"

Eiji landed in the courtyard of the royal guesthouse.

"Hey, you're finally back?"

Grimm waved at him with a grin.

"The Queen's orders—only the foreign travelers and the Child of Prophecy are allowed to have an audience. Da Vinci went as an advisor, so the rest of us have to wait here."

Muramasa's face was full of worry, clearly concerned about Artoria's situation.

"What happened to Miss Mash?"

Tristan looked surprised at Mash, whom Eiji was carrying.

"Something minor happened. She fainted."

Eiji glanced at Habenyan, who was smiling quietly nearby, and handed Mash over to her.

"Leave her to you."

"Oh, I'll take good care of Mash until she wakes up!"

Habetrot looked at Eiji with a nostalgic gaze.

"In return, you should go properly greet your bride!"

"Let's save the talk for later. After all, we shouldn't keep the most impatient one waiting, right?"

Grim seemed to imply something with his words.

Not far away, Gareth also gave him a thumbs-up.

Muramasa and Tristan also cast their blessing-filled glances toward him.

Eiji pondered briefly.

Good grief!

Why does everyone already know?
