Chapter 1142: Within the Core
Under Eiji's control, the three familiars coordinated with clear division of labor, surrounding the Cursed God and delivering further heavy blows.
He allowed the familiars to drain the magical energy from his body, demanding only one thing from them - to inflict the maximum possible damage upon the Cursed God!
With an abundant supply of magical energy, the three familiars each displayed their peak capabilities, every strike causing violent tremors in the nearby dead city of Camelot.
Had the Cursed God not absorbed all the damage, just one or two direct hits would have reduced Camelot to ruins.
The Golden Lion and the Two-Horned Horse circled around the Cursed God, continuously launching fierce attacks that blasted open wound after wound on its body, while the Enchantress used her freezing power to constantly ice over the Cursed God's injured parts, preventing it from recovering.
Under this relentless assault, the Cursed God finally grew enraged.
Abandoning attempts to heal itself, it instead channeled massive amounts of curses into crimson-purple magical blasts, firing dozens to hundreds of devastating saturation attacks from its body surface!
Each of these blasts possessed power comparable to an anti-fortress Noble Phantasm, with terrifying destructive capability!
The moment the barrage began, the Enchantress cautiously retreated, constructing defensive layers of absolute zero ice before her.
The Two-Horned Horse, capable of flight from the start, had maintained distance from the Cursed God while conducting long-range attacks.
Though momentarily forced into awkward positions, both familiars narrowly managed to evade that overwhelming wave of saturation attacks.
"Awooo—!"
A sudden cry of pain echoed.
The Golden Lion had charged too close and, caught off guard, was struck head-on by a purple magical blast. With a pained roar, it was sent flying.
Not only was nearly half its body shattered, but dark curses clung to it like maggots to bone, causing continuous agonized cries.
"Disgraceful!"
Eiji cursed under his breath.
Always rushing headlong into every enemy!
It was one thing to be reckless against the Black Hound, given its average strength, but how dare it charge so close against the Cursed God?
Who else would die if not you?
"Come forth, Mesarthim Adamas! Return, disgraceful lion!"
With no other choice, Eiji summoned the diamond-hard, gem-like Seventh Familiar to take over.
"Roar..."
With a weak growl, the Lion of Gold reluctantly dissipated into particles of magical energy.
Having learned this lesson, hopefully it would reflect properly - this world wasn't one where a single True Ancestor's familiar could dominate everything!
Using the gravity manipulation of the Seventh Familiar, Eiji kept the Diamond Sheep floating mid-air, providing long-range support to the Two-Horned Horse and Enchantress Bird.
"Bzzzzzt—!!"
Relying on its endless supply of curses, the Cursed God launched a second wave of saturation attacks!
The Two-Horned Horse and Enchantress Bird immediately tensed, preparing for full defense.
"Go, teach it a lesson!"
At Eiji's command, the Diamond Sheep raised its head and let out a long roar.
In mere moments, hundreds of gem-like shields materialized around the Cursed God, directly confronting the purple spots covering its body.
"BOOM BOOM BOOM—!!"
The thunderous roar of artillery fire became incessant.
The Curse God's magical barrage erupted instantly, with nearly half of the projectiles bypassing the gemstone shields. The Enchantress Bird and Bicorn effortlessly evaded the onslaught.
The remaining half slammed violently into the gemstone shields, causing them to tremble intensely for a moment. Countless fine cracks surfaced across their facades, but immediately after, they blazed with radiant light.
Like mirrors reflecting brilliance, the cursed projectiles that struck the gemstone shields rebounded along their original trajectories, crashing squarely into the Curse God's form and blasting massive chunks of cursed flesh into fragments!
The Curse God unleashed a silent roar, causing the atmosphere to convulse violently.
Though merely a corpse, its instincts seemed utterly astounded.
How could this unknown shield reflect all of its attacks?
"To unleash a curtain of projectiles, it weakened the individual power of each magical blast!"
Eiji saw through the situation at a glance.
The Curse God's output was undoubtedly superior to his!
But to drive back the familiars buzzing around it like flies, it had reduced the power of each magical blast, opting instead to increase their quantity—giving the Diamond Ram an opening.
Had the Curse God chosen to concentrate its power into a single full-force strike, no matter how many layers of shields the Diamond Ram stacked, they would likely be pierced in one blow!
Even so.
The gemstone shields encircling the Curse God became entangled with thick, pitch-black curses, vanishing into black smoke in the blink of an eye.
"That curse must not be touched at all!"
Eiji clicked his tongue in dismay.
Even he, if struck directly by that curse, would swiftly lose combat capability, perhaps even fall unconscious.
The exploration 2,400 years ago had already proven this.
"Still, this is an opportunity!"
Eiji's gaze sharpened.
Under the rebound of numerous magical blasts, the Curse God's already grievously wounded body was once again shattered, with large chunks of cursed flesh blown apart!
They were drawing closer to the divine core!
This chance could not be missed!
"Portray!"
With that thought, Eiji immediately chanted the incantation.
In an instant, a golden light-sword over a hundred meters long materialized before the Curse God.
Channeling his magical energy through his unique ability as a medium, he rapidly infused it into the blade, allowing it to accumulate immense power in mere moments!
The light-sword hovered motionless, yet contained boundless force, as if a single swing could cleave the heavens!
This was the strike that surpassed the orbital velocity of a planet!
A blow approaching ninety times the speed of sound—truly worthy of being called the Earth-Splitting Sword from the shelves of reality!
Given the current thickness of the cursed flesh, Eiji was certain this strike would pierce its spiritual core!
If it landed, the Curse God could only meet its end!
"Is this really alright?"
At that moment, a voice dripping with mockery reached Eiji's ears.
Who was that?
Eiji instantly tensed.
Where was this voice coming from?
"Barghest is currently inside that divine core, serving as a sacrifice, you know? If you blast through that core, you'll kill Barghest along with it!"
Eiji's eyes widened slightly.
The poised light-sword hesitated for a fraction of a second.
"What did you say?!"
Eiji's expression darkened as he scanned his surroundings.
But the voice did not return, as though it had never spoken.
"Tch!"
Eiji clicked his tongue in frustration.
Reluctantly, he had to temporarily abandon the plan of using the Earth-Splitting Sword to destroy the spiritual core.
"Vwoom!!"
The atmospheric vibrations suddenly intensified.
The Curse God's entire body shook violently, as if roaring in fury.
An endless curse radiated from His body, with pitch-black curses surging forth to envelop the frigid ice covering Him completely.
The absolute zero ice visibly darkened, as if ink had been mixed into clear water.
Before long, the ice that had blocked His regeneration was entirely stained black, melting away like snowflakes. Disgusting flesh buds stirred once more, gradually restoring His body.
