"What are you doing here?" Mrs. King twirled the wine in her hand, as she slowly looked around the crowd, "Just like the last time, you barely belong here."
"For a long time, I used to be insecure about the fact that I never belonged anywhere. Not in school, not in family, not in work, and not even in social circles. But now, I have come to love that about me. That I never fit in. It only means I stand out from the rest of the crowd."
Mrs. King turned to her, raising a brow, "You are overestimating yourself."
"Am I?" Ella smiled and it looked like her entire face brightened up, "A room full of people yet you approached only me for this conversation. How could I not be flattered?"
A hint of surprise crossed Mrs. King's eyes, "The last time we met, you were hanging onto my son's arm like a lifeless doll. This is a new side of yours."
