Chapter 74 - last straw

It was the last straw, but he didn't even notice.

He didn't see the way her smile trembled at the edges,

how her laughter no longer reached her eyes,

how she was barely holding herself together behind the mask she had perfected.

He didn't notice the silent war between her heart and her pride, the way she bit back her pain just to keep standing beside him.

Instead, he treated her coldly, meeting her warmth with indifference,

answering questions she never asked, and drawing conclusions that were never hers to begin with.

He didn't realize how far he was pushing her away, not only in that moment, but every single time she tried to come closer.

Every effort she made, every bridge she built, he tore down with his distance, his silence, and his failure to see that she was breaking.

And so, her smiles faded, little by little, her heart growing heavier with every step toward him that was met with rejection. No matter how much she tried to push forward, he kept pushing her back, never realizing that the girl who always stayed, who always fought, was losing the strength to hold on.

She wonder if their love was growing stronger, or was it fading slowly and painfully like the morning sun swallowed by an unforgiving sky?

And so she silently endured till she silently left when he broke the last straw, she told herself she had no reason to endure such bullshit for someone who didn't give a damn about how she felt..
