My heart gave a hard jump the second Ezra's lips touched my cheek from behind. The phone was still open in my hands. Sonny's name and the latest messages sat right at the top of the screen. If Ezra saw even one word of that conversation, everything would fall apart.
"I'll try to come home fast," he murmured against my neck. Both of his arms slid around my waist and rested on my stomach, holding me gently from behind.
"Yeah… please…" I answered, my voice a little shaky from the sudden tickle of his breath on my skin. At the same time my thumb pressed the power button hard. The screen went black just in time.
Ezra kept nuzzling the side of my neck for another second. Then he asked, still close, "Will you be going out today?"
I turned my face slightly toward him. For a brief moment his eyes dropped to my hands and the phone I was holding. Then he looked away again and went back to soft kisses on my neck.
