"Sighhh…"
A long, heavy breath left my lungs as I sank deeper into the couch. I stretched out on my back, one wrist resting across my closed eyes and the other hand loosely holding the phone on my stomach. The living room stayed quiet around me. Soft morning light still came through the half-open curtains. Outside, the street sounded empty. Inside, the only noise was the slow tick of the wall clock.
"Ahh… my head is spinning so much," I muttered. I turned onto my side and stared at the nearest sofa pillow. The dark screen of the phone sat only a few inches from my face.
"Umm… is this really right?" I asked the empty room. The question felt heavier than the soft cushion under my cheek. I kept looking at the black screen while the doubt grew louder in my mind.
