Thomas shouted loudly, like he was screaming at someone he was pissed at, "What is going on here, a mission to leave the house? My house? And also, is there a time limit? What does all that mean?" But unfortunately there was no one with him in this room or the whole house. To begin with, he lived alone in his apartment without any relatives or relationships with girls, so apparently his anger was directed at the screen in front of him.
Still looking at the open screen in front of him he started reading it for maybe the fifth time.
{Mission available}
{First mission available to you}
{Leave the house as soon as possible and reach the parking lot.}
{You have 3 hours to accomplish that.}
Rewards:
1- Ten points
2- One level up
Penalty: Disqualification to participate, which means an immediate termination.
"And what kind of punishment is that?" He added, after a few seconds of silence, like he was expecting an answer from the system, that still he didn't get any reply from anyone, so he decided to move and stick with the primary plan, which was reaching the kitchen first. The headache was bearable at the moment, but a thirst was included in what he was feeling. He could get a solution for the darkness also since he had a torch in one of the kitchen cabinets.
"Anyway, I will gain nothing by just thinking at moment, I don't want to be terminated whatever that means so I have to act now": thinking that aloud he started moving towards where the door of room supposed to be, and the best he could think about was going straight since the door was opposite the bed he was still sitting in.
Upon realizing that he had already attempted to enter the space, he discovered that there was no door or window in its proper location, and the space was also smaller than it had been in the past. So the conclusion is he is not in his room. "So where the hell am I now?" The same way as before he shouted that loudly. Because the first option, which was going straight out of the apartment, was not a valid option, and he was on a time limit to leave the building within three hours, reaching the parking lot would be more difficult than I anticipated.
At that moment, I was absolutely certain that I was no longer in my apartment, so the only thing I could think of was using my hands to touch the walls and move along the wall until I found an exit from the room, wherever that led, whether it led to the kitchen or somewhere else. I spent several minutes walking around the room, touching the wall and going along it, but I was unable to locate any doors or openings.
While I was examining the walls, I considered a few points. The first was that the mission, or whatever it is, seems to be some kind of test, but it must have a solution; otherwise, it would be meaningless. This implies that there is an exit, and the entire process can be completed within the time limit. The second point is that there is some mechanism to unlock the door, which is concealed in darkness. This also suggests that it is visible, but I cannot see it due to the obscurity. Therefore, it must be located somewhere I wouldn't typically think to look for, likely hidden in plain sight, as the saying goes.
Searching the entire room was not a logical course of action, and I didn't even have the time to do so. Three hours is not a short duration, but given the circumstances, it may not be sufficient to leave the room, let alone leaving the building if this is indeed a building. My lack of familiarity with the layout of the place does not help either. However, if my assumptions are correct, the exit should be close to the bed where I woke up. Therefore, I began searching that specific area, feeling along every inch of the wall and where the window once was.
It took me approximately ten minutes to examine the entire wall and the bricked window. Finally, I discovered a brick that was protruding a few centimeters more than the others. After confirming that there were no other anomalies by checking once more, I contemplated my next steps regarding that brick. I attempted to study the brick with my hands, feeling every inch of it; however, the complete darkness limited my ability to examine it thoroughly, leaving me with only the option to touch it.
Almost almost being overwhelmed by frustration after trying everything I could think of, like sweeping, pulling, pushing, but without a success and pushing—without success, I realized that nearly thirty minutes had passed from the little time I had to begin. I didn't have a watch, but I was only guessing. Finally, I heard a clicking sound after repeating the same action one more time, this time pushing with both hands and applying as much force as I could. As soon as I heard the sound, I stepped back.
What appeared before me was what appeared to be like a narrow corridor, illuminated for the first time. To enter, I had to jump over the bed that was obstructing my path. I didn't hesitate even for a second to move through it, thinking that anywhere else would be better than the discomfort I was feeling in this room. Although I didn't know what to expect from the corridor or what lay beyond it, I was determined to leave.
As soon as I entered, the space behind me closed immediately. All my senses heightened, and I felt a wave of anxiety as I walked through the corridor, which lasted less than one minute. It ended in a wide-open area, where I noticed an open door at the far end. The space was illuminated by a bright light.
There was a large glass window along the entire wall, but I couldn't see anything through it when I tried to look outside.
I proceeded to the door since that was the only exit available to me, I found tow set of stairs with a very strange designe some are going up and others going down not like the stairs that I used to see before, "So down it is" I thought loudly again and went down, after defending for almost ten more minutes and didn't reach the ground yet I wondered how many floors is this building, I couldn't tell how many floors i desnded down or how more floors are remaining, finally I found a door which was the only one I saw so far.
As soon as I opened the door I was aasulted with a cold wind that made me shiver at the same time the vertual screen appeared in front of me with a new message.
{Congratulations, you have passed the test and completed your first mission}.
