After a long pause that settled like mist over the seas...
With the Battle of the Valley of the Gods brought to a dramatic close, the entire world trembled beneath the weight of the Marines' official declaration: the infamous Rocks Pirates had been utterly annihilated.
The announcement surged across the oceans like a tidal wave, spreading through every corner of the world with explosive force.
Intent on controlling the global narrative, Marine Headquarters released a carefully crafted statement, asserting that Rocks D. Xebec had been slain by Monkey D. Garp himselfâthus crowning him with the hallowed title of "The Marine Hero," a legend forged through the destruction of the most dangerous pirate alive and a name that now instilled paralyzing dread in the hearts of criminals everywhere.
In doing so, they deliberately omitted any mention of the other key figures involvedâespecially Ayr and the crew of Gol D. Rogerâchoosing instead to elevate Garp as the lone savior of the seas, the solitary beacon of justice that shattered a pirate empire.
As had occurred in the original flow of history, Garp's fame skyrocketed. He emerged as the new vanguard of Marine power, a living symbol whose reputation soared until it stood just beneath that of Fleet Admiral Kong, commanding reverence across the world's oceans.
His very presence became a black storm cloud looming over the ambitions of pirates, particularly those daring to rise within the New World.
However...
With the fall of Rocks and the sudden disintegration of his vast crew, an enormous vacuum formed in the balance of sea power.
The dominion once held tightly by a singular monstrous force had splintered, giving way to roaring chaos and boundless opportunity.
From within the shadows, long-suppressed pirate factions began to stir and crawl into the light like beasts roused from slumber. These were pirates who, under Rocks' tyrannical dominance, had remained silentâparalyzed by fear or unwilling to risk subjugationâyet now, one after another, they emerged from hiding.
During the reign of the Rocks Pirates, no one dared to provoke them; even the boldest of criminals avoided drawing attention, as their grip on the New World was ruthless, unrelenting, and total.
But now, the lion was gone, and with its corpse still warm, the jungle prepared to ignite with ambition, violence, and the struggle for supremacy.
Far across the sea, deep in the treacherous zones of the New World, on an isolated island shrouded by jagged cliffs and fierce tides...
A fleet of pirate warshipsâtwelve in totalâlay anchored along its unforgiving coast. These ships were far from ordinary; each was constructed with reinforced, high-quality timber, armed with upgraded artillery, and equipped with elite seafaring capabilities tailored for deadly excursions. Many of them had been quietly amassed during Rocks' era, held in secret and awaiting only the right moment to unleash their fury.
And now that long-awaited moment had finally arrived.
At the heart of the island, a colossal fortress, resembling a palace of warlords, rose high with walls that shimmered with stolen wealth, barbaric trophies, and deadly defenses.
Within its main hallâlavish, echoing, and brimming with tensionâGolden Lion Shiki reclined upon a throne adorned with gold and crimson, his legs confidently crossed, and his twin sabers resting on his waist like loyal beasts.
"Tap⊠Tap⊠TapâŠ"
Footsteps echoed through the massive chamber as a cadre of seasoned pirates entered, each scarred by battle and hardened by years of brutal survival.
"Captain Shiki," one pirate said while dropping to a knee with deference, "the twelve ships and their designated crews are fully assembled and ready for orders."
These weren't fledgling pirates caught up in a rising storm.
They were a shadow forceâan armada Shiki had quietly cultivated in secret while still serving under Rocks. He had kept them hidden from Xebec's ever-watchful paranoia, aware that any overt ambition would have been crushed mercilessly.
But with Rocks now gone, Shiki no longer needed to restrain the wildfire burning in his heart.
Summoning his hidden fleet, he now began forging the first foundations of the fearsome group that would be known across the world as the Sky Pirates.
"Jihahahahaha! Rocks is finished! This seaâit's mine now!" Shiki roared with mad delight, standing tall on the dais as power seemed to pulse around him.
"Indeed, Captain! In the New World, there's no one left who can match your might!"
"With you leading us, we'll rise above every last pirate fleetâno one will be able to stop us!"
"We offer you our swords, our blood, and our lives without hesitation!"
Their cries rang out in perfect unity, voices sharp with loyalty and burning hunger for conquest.
"Our first move," Shiki declared, his gaze icy and calculating, "is to reclaim every single piece of territory that once belonged to Rocks. His empire... will now feed the rise of ours."
Once, the Rocks Pirates had ruled nearly half the New Worldâcommanding islands, strongholds, sea routes, and countless covert operations.
Now, all of that lay abandoned, left in the aftermath of defeat, and ripe for new hands to seize.
Shiki's vision to establish the Sky Pirates would begin not with construction, but with devouring the rotting corpse of his former captain's legacy.
"Yes, Captain!" his men shouted, the fire in their eyes matching the bloodlust in his.
âElsewhereâ
On the island of Punk Hazard, a place shrouded in chemical fogs and perpetual danger, deep within the secret laboratories buried at its molten core...
This islandâonce dismissed as a wastelandâhad long since been converted into one of the World Government's most clandestine research facilities. Operated by precursors to Vegapunk and guarded by CP0-controlled scientists, it was a black site where morality died and science thrived on cruelty.
In a subterranean chamber wrapped in layers of reinforced alloy, an experimental prison stoodâsealed with Seastone-laced chains, surveillance runes, and more than a dozen mechanical fail-safes.
Inside, seated in silence and shadow, was a young yet infamous pirate whose name would one day terrify the world.
Kaido of the Beasts.
Once a child soldier sold by the Vodka Kingdom in a pathetic attempt to earn favor with the World Government, Kaido had escaped from the Marines multiple timesâeach escape bloodier than the last.
Eventually, he had joined the Rocks Pirates, rising through sheer force into the rank of enforcer. But now, he was imprisoned againâsurrounded not by guards but by scalpel-wielding scientists.
"Hard to believe," murmured one white-coated figure outside the reinforced cell, "that this is the same Kaido who survived the Valley of the Gods⊠and even thrived within the Rocks crew."
"Indeed," another responded with a grim nod, "the higher-ups scrambled to recover him. It wasn't just his strengthâit was that terrifying resilience, that freakish biology."
"They believe his body holds some monstrous secret. And then there's the Devil FruitâMythical Zoan typeâgifted to him by Charlotte Linlin herself..."
The fruit in question, the Uo Uo no Mi, Model: Seiryu, had been given to Kaido in the waning days of Rocks' empire. Linlin, recognizing his potential, had tried to chain him with favor. But Kaido disappeared shortly after, charting his own path of chaosâonly to be captured once more, now bound by science and steel.
"This time," one of the researchers declared smugly, "he won't be going anywhere. These restraints were built using Vegapunk's earliest prototypes, layered with Seastone, and designed to crush any escape attempt."
They should not have spoken so confidently.
BOOM!!!
Without warning, the prison cell erupted in an explosion that shattered the alloy bars and sent shockwaves across the facility.
Kaido emerged from the smoke, roaring like a beast unchained. Chains snapped like twigs in his hands, and the reinforced door was reduced to twisted metal.
"W-what in the hell?!" cried one of the scientists, his face draining of color.
"You pathetic rats," Kaido snarled, each word steeped in rage, "you just can't get enough of cutting into me, can you?!"
With eyes glowing red and thunder coursing through his limbs, Kaido seized his KanabĆ and began cutting through the scientists like wheat beneath a scythe.
Within moments, the lab became a slaughterhouse, its pristine walls drenched in blood.
After kicking down another sealed door, Kaido entered an adjoining chamber, where another imprisoned "specimen" lay in silence.
On an operating table, bound tighter than even he had been, was a man unlike any otherâa being with black wings folded at his back, dark skin resilient like volcanic glass, and white hair that framed a pair of crimson eyes glowing faintly in the gloom.
He was a Lunarian.
A relic of a dying raceâa tribe once revered as divine for their near-immortality, flame-producing abilities, and celestial constitution.
This man would come to be known as King the Wildfire.
Kaido stepped into the room, resting his KanabĆ on his shoulder, his gaze heavy with interest.
"A Lunarian, huh" he muttered, scanning the chains and the scientific documents scattered across the floor.
"No wonder the government's obsessed with you. I've read everything they wrote about your body. You're a walking miracleâand a nightmare."
As King stirred, his eyes met Kaido's with sharp awareness and unspoken defiance.
Kaido grinnedânot with pity, but with recognition.
"I'm breaking out of this hellhole," he said plainly, "and I'm starting my own crew. You wanna come along, guinea pig?"
The silence that followed was long and deliberate.
Then, slowly⊠King smiled.
And from that moment onward, history would remember their meeting as the spark that lit another infernoâthe birth of a new, monstrous alliance.
A god once bound by chains.
And the beast who named him king.
