"What now, Big Brother Kaido?" Queen asked, his voice low but urgent. The Golden Lion's reckless invasion of Naval Headquarters was undoubtedly an act of suicide, and if the Golden Lion perished here, then the Beasts Pirates would once again be left without strong allies in this chaotic sea.
"Let's form an alliance with Charlotte Linlin," Jhin proposed after a long silence, arms crossed as he leaned against the cold wall of the chamber. In the current New World, many of the great pirate factions were already intertwined through fragile alliances and temporary pacts. But Charlotte LinlinâBig Momâwasn't known for compromise. She had grown more tyrannical and capricious than ever, scoffing at any alliance that didn't benefit her immensely. Still, the Golden Lion's attack would certainly draw the Navy's wrath, and his death would create a rare opening. If they moved fast, the Beasts Pirates could present themselves as a valuable strategic partner and use that as leverage with Big Mom. It could even be the first step toward Kaido's ultimate ambition: to start a war so massive that it plunged the world into chaos, to become the true Joy Boy.
"No, I don't want to deal with that lunatic woman right now," Kaido grunted, waving off the idea with a growl. "Thirty-five years ago or not, I've had enough of her." During the Rocks era, Kaido had a peculiar relationship with Charlotte Linlinâone that wavered between comradery and sheer rivalry. But ever since the collapse of Rocks, he had distanced himself from all of them.
"I know, but without her, there's no one else in the New World powerful or insane enough to align with us," Queen pointed out.
"Stay here in Wano," Kaido ordered firmly. "I'll go to Naval Headquarters myself."
Jhin and Queen exchanged glances. The silence that followed was tense. He wasn't joking. Kaido couldn't allow Shikiâthe Golden Lionâto die. He had to bring him back.
"You're really going to save him?" Jhin asked, his voice barely audible.
"There's only one path left. I need to bring that bastard back before it's too late."
"But Naval Headquarters is packed with monsters right now," Queen said, worry written on his face. "If you go, there's a good chance you won't return." They all knew Kaido's strength, but Naval Headquartersâespecially this close to the day of the Pirate King's executionâwas crawling with elite forces.
"It's not about whether they can stop me," Kaido replied coldly. "They simply can't." Kaido wasn't delusional; he knew he couldn't defeat everyone in Naval Headquarters by himself. But that wasn't the goal. He just needed to break inâand break Shiki out. That, he could manage.
"I'm going with you," Jhin offered.
"No. You stay. Watch Wano. Protect it in my absence."
"âŠGot it." Jhin fell silent. Among the Beasts Pirates, none were more loyal to Kaido than him. He owed his life to the man, to the one who gave him a second chance, a purpose. So, even if he didn't agree, he wouldn't argue. Not when Kaido's eyes were that resolute.

A Few Days Later â Naval Headquarters, Marineford
Nightfall. The sky above was blackened with thick clouds, as if the heavens themselves were tense. Thunder rolled, lightning clawed the sky, and heavy rain lashed against the ocean surface near the towering Marine fortress. Coastal patrols scanned the churning waves. They were on high alertâwith Roger's execution only days away, they could afford no mistakes.
"Shhhhink!!!" A golden flash tore through the darkness. A Marine soldier on patrol was sliced cleanly in halfâno time to scream, only a spray of crimson. "Whâwho goes there?!" Nearby soldiers froze in shock, hands shaking as they raised their weapons. But they never saw the killer. Another flash, another group bisected by a blade of golden light. Panic exploded across the docks. Screams echoed through the rain as alarms wailed, and the full might of Naval Headquarters mobilized to respond.
Meanwhile, at the top floor of the Marineford fortress, inside the marshal's office, Fleet Admiral Kong sat at a round table with Garp and Sengoku, deep in strategy. Frantic footsteps echoed down the hall before a Marine officer burst through the door without knocking. "Marshal Kong! Emergency!"
"What happened?" Kong demanded, rising.
"Someone has invaded the Holy LandâMariejois!"
"What?" Sengoku's face turned pale as Kong and Garp stood up simultaneously. Mariejoisâthe seat of the Celestial Dragonsâwas sacred and fortified. For it to be attacked now, of all times⊠Even during the Valley of the Gods battle, where they lost a marshal and two admirals, no pirate had dared step foot into Mariejois itself. And now, someone had?
"Who is it?" Garp asked sharply.
"We⊠don't know," the soldier stammered. "He's too strong. No one's survived close combat. It's chaos out there. We think it's⊠the Golden Lion."
Thunder cracked above. Night had hidden the invader's identity, but the carnage was unmistakable.
"Could it be⊠they're targeting us now?" Sengoku muttered. Roger's execution was imminent, and most of the AdmiralsâZephyr, Akainu, Aokiji, Kizaru, Tsuruâwere dispatched on external assignments to secure safe zones. Only Kong, Garp, and Sengoku remained at headquarters.
"It must be the New World monsters," Sengoku said, voice like iron. "They think we're vulnerable."
"No matter who it is," Kong growled, "if he's invaded our stronghold, he'll never leave it alive." He slammed his fist on the table. "Let's go. Time to crush this bastard."

Marineford Central Square
"BOOM! BOOM!!! KABOOM!!!" Explosions rocked the central plaza of Marineford as artillery fire lit up the night sky and the Navy's forces scrambled to repel the invader. But he was already in the heart of the fortress.
"The enemy's here!" "He's in the main plaza!" "How many are there?!" Lightning arced through the clouds above, illuminating the chaos below. And in that flash of lightâthey saw him.
Standing atop a mound of Marine corpses, cigar clenched between his teeth, and bloodied twin swords in hand, was Golden Lion Shiki. One man. One monster.
"âŠIs that even a man?" a Marine whispered in disbelief. The carnage was too much, the presence too overwhelming. It was him. The legendary Golden Lionâreturned, as if from hell itself. The Marines froze, fear rooting them in place.
And thenâ"Marshal Kong is here!" Kong, Garp, and Sengoku stepped into the square, their presence cutting through the fear like a blade. Shiki turned his head, smoke swirling from his cigar, eyes gleaming beneath his golden mane.
A storm was about to explode.
