Not long after they left, a ship arrived at this stretch of sea. Standing at the bow, wings spread like a dove, was a tall man with a beak-like nose and a top hat. He was none other than Big News Morgans, president of the World Economy News Paper and one of the five major overlords of the underground world.
"The entire Marineford... sunk into the sea?" Morgans gazed over the eerily quiet waves, astonishment flashing across his face. Just days from now, the public execution of Gol D. Roger, the Pirate King, was scheduled. Ever hungry for a scoop that would shake the world, Morgans had decided to make a bold move—sail directly toward Marineford to try and capture an exclusive from Marine Headquarters before the execution. But now... what he found was devastation.
Marineford, the seat of Marine authority, was a ruin. Its mighty walls had crumbled, and its central structures lay scattered across the surface of the water. Giant slabs of broken seabed jutted up unnaturally, as if a cataclysm had torn the very sea apart. Meteorite-sized craters still smoldered, and the air itself felt scorched. Signs of battle—no, apocalypse—were everywhere.
"What happened here…? Could Marineford have actually been destroyed?" Morgans muttered, his sharp journalistic instincts battling with disbelief. Behind him, a dozen correspondents and agents stared wide-eyed at the scene.
"President Morgans, who could have done something like this?! Even the Four Emperors wouldn't dare... unless..."
"Did... did the big pirates of the New World join forces?"
No one had answers—only theories. None of them dared speak the names of those truly capable of such destruction. "This is Marineford," one of the journalists whispered. "The stronghold of the Marines… how can it be gone?" If they hadn't seen it with their own eyes, they would have laughed the story off. Even now, it felt like a dream.
"I wanted a breaking story from the Marines," Morgans said, pushing his hat down with a clawed finger. "But I didn't expect to find the whole damn Marineford broken. The entire headquarters... sunk. There's no one left to interview."
His reporters murmured among themselves, some shaken, some frustrated. "Shall we retreat, President? It seems this trip is in vain."
"In vain?!" Morgans flared, spinning on his heel. "This is front-page news of the century! The World Government's base of justice has vanished!"
"But we don't even know who's responsible," one said cautiously. "If we print this, we'll sound insane. No one will believe that Marineford was sunk out of nowhere…"
Indeed, the visual evidence was clear. The island had been devastated. The Sea-Prism infused foundations were shattered. The once-unbreakable Marineford was gone. But if they couldn't identify the perpetrators, the story risked being dismissed as a hoax. There was no formal announcement, no eyewitnesses—just destruction.
"I guarantee this," Morgans said with a cold glint in his eyes. "The Marines won't admit it publicly, but they'll put out new bounties soon—on whoever did this." Leaning against the railing, he grinned. "The Marines are a prideful lot. They won't say they got crushed... but they'll react. All we need to do is watch who gets slapped with bounty increases. Then the world will know."
His reporters looked at each other, processing the logic. Morgans continued, "Someone will be blamed. And when those posters come out... we'll know who buried Marineford beneath the waves."

Two Days Later — New World, Unknown Island
Dozens of pirate ships with mismatched sails and patchwork hulls clustered off the coastline. This place, hidden from the World Government's eyes, was a stronghold for remnants of the former Rocks Pirates. In terms of manpower and firepower, they rivaled even the Golden Lion's Flying Pirates.
Within a great war-hall on the island's interior, Captain John, Ochoku, and Silver Axe sat at a round table, deep in discussion. Footsteps thundered outside the room as a group of panting pirates burst through the doors, wide-eyed and gripping newspapers and bounty posters in their hands.
"What's with the panic?" Silver Axe growled, his battle-worn face tightening.
"Captain! Something enormous just happened!" a subordinate barked. "This isn't just about Roger's upcoming execution!"
"We know about Loguetown," John muttered. "The Marines already confirmed Roger's going to be executed publicly to make an example. That news came out yesterday."
"No—this is bigger. Way bigger," the pirate said, trembling slightly as he handed over the paper.
John, Silver Axe, and Ochoku accepted the newspaper. At first, they showed no emotion. Then their expressions darkened as they read the headline:
"AYR, SHIKI, AND KAIDO ATTACK MARINEFORD — NAVAL HEADQUARTERS SUNK!"
Cold silence blanketed the room. "…This… has to be a fabrication," Silver Axe said after a long pause, beads of sweat forming on his forehead. "Even if it's those three… Marineford?"
John's jaw tightened. He remembered Ayr from the Valley of the Gods—the swordsman with the Rinnegan eyes, terrifying swordsmanship, and that monstrous body. After that battle, the world had whispered Ayr's name with dread. But this? Even with Golden Lion Shiki's floating fortress tactics and Kaido's beastly durability… could they truly destroy Marineford?
"Marineford is the seat of Admiral Kong," Ochoku said lowly. "There were still Vice Admirals, possibly even Sengoku and Garp…"
"They're saying Ayr led the charge," the pirate continued. "Meteorites fell. The sky split. They say Kaido transformed into a blue-scaled dragon that smashed the main citadel. Shiki cut half the sea in two..."
"It sounds insane," John muttered. Insane… but believable. The sea was already changing. The Marines were weak from the Valley of the Gods defeat, and the strongest pirate monsters had emerged from the shadows. Ayr's strength was no longer a rumor—it was undeniable.
Silver Axe slammed a fist onto the table. "If this is true… then the balance is over. There's no 'peace' left. The age of monsters has begun."
They stared again at the headline. Ayr. Shiki. Kaido. Three names that now shook the foundation of the world. The real news was out—and for the first time since Rocks D. Xebec's death, the world trembled.
