When Eleanor emerged from the forest, the furious bombardment from the Dark Capuchins finally ceased. Although she had not been struck by any of the projectiles thanks to her speed and sudden changes in running pattern, but it had been truly irritating. Though a few scattered smaller trees still surrounded her current position, most forest-dwelling creatures did not venture into the open clearing.
The beasts of Vanaheim were highly territorial. Each region possessed its own ecosystem, primarily governed by an overlord. Entering another region was considered trespassing, and the beasts native to that territory might attack without hesitation.
During her escape from the forest, Eleanor had caused quite a ruckus. Many beasts were drawn by the noise. While most halted at the forest's edge, a few did not and continued to pursue her.
