Chapter 250 - chapter 50

Hamar nearly teared up, his connection to Hou had been weakening, he had been worrying that he would have lost everything related to his friend.

"But why now? I need to focus on creating the soul!"

Hou's split soul smirked or the closest thing a split part of someone's soul and consciousness could to smirking.

"Don't worry about that, don't you remember who I am? Even as a split soul, no especially as a split soul, this is light work!"

Hamar started incredulously but the split soul continued, "I know the creation of a soul like the back of my hand, I have experience. But..."

"But?"

"But why stop there? We've already merged somewhat, let's go fully! Let's give you a Nascent Soul too! Then you could recover too!"

"Me?! A Nascent Soul!" Hamar's consciousness was waning but that shook him back somewhat.

The split soul continued, "We'll need to work together, you'll follow my lead. You work with aura, I work with comprehension. And by the end, you'll use my Nascent Soul here as a basis to form your own, we'll be inextricably linked, and impossible to break!"

Back to present time, Mo Huai and Qi Lan arrived.

Hamar had been affected by Hou's Nascent Soul and his heart had transformed as a result. Hou's Nascent Soul looked like an amalgamation of all his past forms, this split soul had white hair.

Once he followed it's instructions and merged. His hair transformed, the tribulation had ended and he felt that now that his body had reformed he had a huge pool of aura.

"Well it seems tribulations have benefits...I think it broke down it's own laws into mana which I then turned into aura subconsciously."

Hamar looked down and saw his Master, and Yan's Master. He closed his eyes and slowly let himself down. As he did, he made sure there was no more bits left of the vampire.

That was one thing Ban had told him before she died. She had told him two important things, one was that a vampire would be coming to dispose of her and therefore him and Yan. She said that he would need to be fully eradicated lest he regenerate.

The second thing...Hamar bowed on his knees to his Master, putting his hands together, "I am sorry Master!"

"I will scold you later, where is your guardian?"

Hamar nodded solemnly, "Yan is this way, Masters." He then slowly walked over to Yan's lifeless corpse but for a reason, he felt completely comfortable, as if she was just asleep.

Inside his mind he realised why he felt so normal, "Doesn't it feel good to hear me again? The reason you feel normal is because you have gained my intuition. And my comprehension of death laws would state that she is not dead per se" Hou's split soul voice sounded out within his consciousness.

Hamar smiled and turned to Yan's Master and bowed lightly. She nodded and took something out of her robe, placing it on Yan's 'corpse'.

"What's that?" Hamar asked curiously.

Qi Lan turned quietly and looked into Hamar's eyes for a moment before answering, "I wouldn't let my disciple just die like that so I have her consciousness locked up safely. Then what she uses in the outside world is merely a...projection."

"That's..."

Qi Lan shook her head, "Too strong? Why doesn't everyone do it?" She wiped her forehead and continued, "the technique is very expensive and does have downsides anyway"

"Downsides, how so?"

As they spoke, the object atop Yan shattered and a liquid infused into Yan. She shot up breathing roughly and locked onto Hamar quickly.

She beat on his chest playfully, "You made me die!"

Qi Lan chuckled, "The downside is that it lowers the foundation of her Spirit Stone Soul and every time she revives she would have a time period where her consciousness cannot regenerate mental energy, and so cultivation is paused."

"Mental energy cannot regenerate?! Isn't that...really bad!? What if she thinks too much?!"

Qi Lan looked down, "The downside is quite serious, as you say. But luckily, she has a master like me so I have my methods to give her my mental energy steadily. She won't die, but it will take a while before she can properly think and cultivate."

Hamar looked down too, then looked Qi Lan into her eyes, "sorry..."

Mo Huai put his hand on Hamar's head and ruffled his hair, "Don't worry about it, she's exaggerating. The hag has enough mental energy to allow Yan to cultivate steadily anyway"

Qi Lan put strength laws into his fist and punched Mo Huai into the ground, "Hag, you say? Who might you be referring to there?"

Mo Huai felt his bones crack and carefully he healed them as he got his head out of the ground, "Sorry..."

"Sorry doesn't cut it, I'll just scold you AND your disciple! But later, for now Yan told us there was a huge update?"

Hamar quickly nodded and subconsciously covered himself in a layer of aura from protect himself from getting hurt like his Master.

He finished around his robes and pulled out a piece of paper, holding it out in both his hands to Qi Lan.

"Here is what she might've been talking about. On this top side is various location of Yi Sect and the other side is paces that might be useful for people to train? Resource point, perhaps?" Hamar rubbed the back of his head, those points WERE for his body reformation but he skipped those steps in a gamble.

Qi Lan took the paper and looked at it carefully and nodded, she looked up, "And you have more? That's what my intuition says, at least."

Hamar smiled lightly, "This one is something I would like to keep mostly to a secret. The main part of that information is that...we need to take down Yi Sect...fast!"

Hamar's eyes trembled as he recalled the information he was hiding. As he did, he subconsciously used aura to protect his mind from being read at all.

"Yi Sect has found a way into the 'system' of this world. The backbone upon which all rules come from. Because of this, they've developed ways to manipulate the world temporarily, they are close to their ultimate goal. Find their headquarters, find that opening in the 'system'."

Hamar bit his lip, "Now that I've become a separate being than one of the 'system'... cooperation?"
