Chapter 178 - Chapter 178: The Clash of Thunder and Light (Part 1)

Sam's expression was somewhat grim. They had split up their operations on Sabaody Archipelago. Sam had just captured a Devil Fruit user and was about to rendezvous with Enel when he heard that something major had happened at the auction house—something about a Celestial Dragon being attacked.

The first person Sam thought of was Enel, and he had immediately rushed over.

"It's not my fault. Those Celestial Dragons were just too disgusting," Enel shrugged, unconcerned.

"Right, you didn't kill the Celestial Dragons, did you?" Sam quickly asked.

"Nah, I didn't go that far. I know my limits. Just taught them a lesson," Enel said, crossing his arms, a rather smug look on his face.

Sam, however, looked even more exasperated. "Godfather knew you'd stir up trouble, which is why he had us keep an eye on you! I didn't expect you to cause such a massive incident anyway!"

Enel pouted but said nothing.

"You attacked a Celestial Dragon. The Marines will definitely send an Admiral after us. We should leave, quickly!" Sam said gravely.

But lightning flashed in Enel's eyes, and a fighting spirit emerged on his face.

"Hey, hey, hey, Enel! An Admiral isn't someone you can deal with right now! Don't ruin Godfather's grand plan!" Sam, seeing Enel's expression, knew exactly what he was thinking and immediately invoked Bege's name to warn him.

Enel instantly deflated.

"Whatever, there'll be plenty of chances in the future."

Enel's expression suddenly turned stern, lightning flickering around his body.

"But I'm afraid it's too late to leave now."

Sam's face changed dramatically. He spread his Observation Haki instantly and sensed a powerful presence approaching at astonishing speed. In a moment, it arrived before them.

A mass of light coalesced into a tall human figure.

"Marine Admiral Kizaru!" Enel narrowed his eyes, a flash of electricity flickering within them as he stared intently at the middle-aged man before him, dressed in a yellow-and-white striped suit.

"Little Thunder God Enel. What a forceful young man you are," Kizaru also looked at Enel, his expression shifting slightly. As a fellow top-tier Logia Devil Fruit user, he was very aware of the power of such fruits. Moreover, the Rumble-Rumble Fruit surpassed his own Glint-Glint Fruit in terms of destructive power, and its speed was second only to the Glint-Glint Fruit.

"So, it's Admiral Kizaru who's come. This is going to be a bit troublesome. Brother Sam, you take the others and leave first. I'll hold him off," Enel said in a low voice.

"Alright." Sam was well aware of Kizaru's strength; if they dallied, none of them would escape. So, he agreed immediately.

"You all follow my Brother Sam and leave," Enel said to the slaves behind him. The giant, leading the other slaves, quickly ran towards Sam.

"Go!" Sam turned without hesitation and started to flee.

"Fire-User Sam, another elite officer of the Fire Tank Pirates. You can't leave just yet," Kizaru's lazy voice sounded. His form suddenly dissolved into light, rushing towards Sam. Almost simultaneously, Enel also transformed into lightning, fiercely pursuing and striking the flash of light with a violent bolt, forcing Kizaru back into his solid form.

Kizaru's expression darkened; he hadn't expected Enel's speed to be so incredible.

"Kizaru, my speed isn't slow either. If you want to catch them, you'll have to get past me first," Enel declared, his entire body wreathed in lightning, resembling a Thunder God, his eyes imperious, full of dominance.

"Then I'll capture you first," Kizaru said, his expression becoming serious. He raised his hand and fired a light laser.

A bolt of azure lightning shot out to meet the laser, causing an explosion.

"Let's skip these kinds of probing attacks, shall we?" Enel said with utter disdain, casually twirling his golden staff. Fierce lightning spread outwards from the staff.

"Indeed, it's time to get serious. Can't let you escape," Kizaru's expression grew slightly more focused. His body suddenly emitted an intensely brilliant light, so bright it made one's eyes sting.

In an instant, Kizaru appeared behind Enel, his long leg raised high.

"Have you ever been kicked at the speed of light?"

Kizaru said, striking a pose.

"Just like Godfather said, you really are a poser."

Enel's face showed mockery. Lightning suddenly erupted from his body, a massive surge of electricity blasting outwards in all directions, especially concentrated towards his rear.

Kizaru's expression turned grim. His raised leg instantly kicked down. Its extreme speed tore through the lightning and heavily struck Enel's body. Enel instantly transformed into a ball of lightning and was sent flying, his body smashing through countless houses before finally collapsing amidst the rubble.

Kizaru stood with his right leg still raised. His suit pants were shredded by lightning, revealing clear lightning burn marks on his calf. His face was quite unsightly.

A streak of lightning shot out from the distant, shattered buildings, coalescing into Enel's form. Enel's expression was also grim. He had already put up a defense, but Kizaru's light-speed kick had still shattered his lightning and broken through his Armament Haki, causing him a certain amount of damage.

"Yellow Monkey, have a taste of my attacks too!" Enel was extremely displeased. His body transformed into lightning, flashing swiftly through the clusters of buildings. He leaped high into the air, then descended like a falling thunderbolt above Kizaru, a large, black, lightning-wreathed foot (imbued with Armament Haki) tearing through the air and crashing heavily towards Kizaru's head.

This was an attack imbued with Armament Haki; Kizaru dared not block it with his physical body. He instantly coated his hands with Armament Haki and raised them to block Enel's right leg. Boom! The ground beneath Kizaru shattered, countless cracks spreading outwards.

In the next moment, Kizaru freed one hand and fired a laser, which pierced Enel's body with astonishing speed. Enel immediately flipped backward, landing more than ten meters away. The wound on his chest, where he had been pierced, surged with lightning as it rapidly repaired itself.

"We're both Logia users. Your attacks are useless against me," Enel sneered contemptuously.

"What a pain," Kizaru said, annoyed. He brought his hands together, then pulled them apart. A strong light gathered in his hands, coalescing into a brilliant light mirror. Simultaneously, light once again surged from Kizaru's body. Around Enel, numerous dazzling light mirrors materialized in the air.

Kizaru's body instantly transformed into a beam of light and shot into one of the mirrors. Using the reflection of the light mirrors, his speed increased further. He instantly appeared behind Enel, golden light surging in his hand, forming a longsword of golden light. Even more astonishingly, this light sword was quickly coated with Armament Haki.

The most direct and effective attack against a Logia user was, indeed, an attack imbued with Haki.

The moment Kizaru made his move, Enel had pushed his Observation Haki to its absolute limit. And seeing the light mirrors in the air, he also knew Kizaru's next move.

As Bege's subordinate with the greatest potential, Enel naturally received special attention and training from him.

Since they were both users of top-tier Logia Devil Fruits, Bege had naturally designated the three Marine Admirals as Enel's future opponents. Thus, he had long ago described the Admirals' techniques to Enel in detail, using them as reference points.

Moreover, because the Glint-Glint Fruit and the Rumble-Rumble Fruit far surpassed other fruits in terms of speed, Kizaru was a particular focus of this study.

Enel was most familiar with Kizaru's techniques.

When Kizaru deployed the light mirrors, Enel knew he was preparing for a close-range attack. Therefore, in that instant, lightning surged from within his body, and his golden staff struck the thunder drums on his back. The sound of the drums was like thunder, booming and crashing.
