They sat in silence for a while, the weight of their new reality heavy on their shoulders. Outside, the wind whispered through the trees, but inside the cabin, the air was still. Finally, Victor broke the silence.
"This venom can only be spread through a bite, is that correct?" he asked Tina, his voice low, seeking to confirm what he suspected.
"Yes, that is correct," Tina replied, exhaling slowly. "If there's even a chance someone was bitten, they must be quarantined."
Victor nodded grimly. "Just Alexander, that we know of. Two human hikers are missing. Three more humans were attacked but survived, and none of them had injuries like his. Is it possible the rogue that bit Alexander was the only one carrying the venom?"
