-----------------
Naruto, floating inside the colossal golden chakra mass shaped like the Nine-Tailed Fox, closed his eyes for a moment.
When he opened them, the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan appeared, replacing the toad eyes of Sage Mode.
Surprisingly, the orange pigmentation around his eyes remained, proof of the perfect harmony between natural, physical, and spiritual energy.
Inside Kurama's body, Naruto extended his arms to the sides, as if expecting a hug, with a slight smile on his face.
"Majestic Attire: Susanoo," he murmured.
Immediately, the complete form of the Susanoo manifested, enveloping the Tailed Beast Mode and significantly increasing its defense and offensive power.
It was the first time Naruto used the Susanoo since he had obtained Madara's Mangekyō Sharingan.
His Susanoo was a fusion of the Susanoo of Madara, Izuna, and Shisui.
Kurama drew the katana from his waist, identical to the one wielded by Madara's Susanoo.
At the same time, he pulled a spear from his back, taken from Shisui's Susanoo.
From Izuna, Naruto had inherited a crossbow mounted on his arm, very similar to the one Sasuke used… or rather, Reika Uchiha.
It seemed that Izuna and Reika were more alike than Naruto had initially thought.
Kurama drove the spear and sword into the ground. Then he pulled back the crossbow string. An arrow materialized instantly.
Danzō watched in silence, knowing he wouldn't survive.
Luckily for him, death wasn't the end.
But Dan, on the verge of death, witnessed this with horror.
He tried to scream, to beg him to stop. But it was too late.
Kurama released the string.
The arrow flew straight toward them. Just before impact, Naruto's eyes gleamed intensely.
The arrowhead was engulfed in black flames, just as intense as his previous attack, the one that had nearly annihilated Dan.
It was Amaterasu, from Izuna's Mangekyō Sharingan.
A technique that generates black flames at the focal point of the user's vision and cannot be extinguished by water or conventional methods; only the user can put them out.
They also burn at the temperature of the Sun and continue for seven days and seven nights.
But Izuna did not only possess Amaterasu. In his right eye, he had the Flame Element: Kagutsuchi, which allowed him to shape the black flames of Amaterasu at will.
Thanks to this ability, Naruto could control Amaterasu's fire as if it were an extension of his body.
That's why Naruto said Izuna was more like Reika than he had thought.
It had been an unexpected, though welcome, surprise.
The arrow struck. The ground trembled. Danzō and Dan vanished in the black flames.
The impact had created an even larger crater than the one made by his Rasen-Daijōhappa.
And the black flames of Amaterasu were scattered around.
Seconds later, just as Naruto had anticipated, Danzō reappeared a few meters away, completely unharmed.
Another Sharingan in his right arm turned white and shut forever.
He had eight left.
Naruto would have to kill him eight more times to finish him off.
Nine, if he counted Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan in his right eye.
"Let's try to take his right eye before he uses it, Kurama," Naruto said to the Nine-Tailed Fox.
If there was a way to take Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan from him before he destroyed it, Naruto would try.
He was sure Shisui would appreciate having his eye returned… even if he no longer needed it.
Perhaps, if he managed to gather both eyes, Shisui could obtain the Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.
Naruto had already spoken with Fugaku about relocating the Uchiha Clan to Uzushiogakure.
The more powerful the Uchiha Clan became, the more powerful Uzushiogakure would be.
…
Reika rubbed her head with both hands upon seeing Sakura rushing toward her.
What the hell was Sakura thinking at that moment?
The village was under attack, being invaded. Konoha was facing two great allied powers with a single purpose: to destroy them.
The Hokage was fighting Orochimaru, one of the Legendary Three Sannin.
And Naruto... Naruto had disappeared. No one knew where he had gone.
And Sakura didn't care about any of that? Her priority was to know what had happened with Sasuke… with his alter ego?
Reika deflected a kunai with agility and lunged at a Sound Ninja, stabbing him with her sword without hesitation.
A fireball struck near her position, but Reika dodged it with an aerial leap.
A dozen shuriken flew toward her, but she intercepted them all with her sword, one by one.
Finally, she had no choice: she activated her Sharingan.
She landed in front of Sakura, just in time to stand between her and a group of approaching ninjas.
"Chidori Eisō!"
A lightning spear emerged from her palm, instantly piercing two Sand ninjas.
That was when Fugaku, her father, appeared.
"Leave them to me, Reika. Do what you have to do."
Reika cursed silently. Her father had just forced her to do what she hated most: talk to Sakura.
She would rather face the entire Sound and Sand alliance alone than have this conversation.
Suddenly, Sakura grabbed her wrist tightly, forcing her to turn around.
Her face was soaked in sweat. She looked at her with a mix of anguish and desperation.
"Tell me it's not true!" she exclaimed. "Tell me Ino was wrong! Tell me you're not Sasuke-kun!"
Reika frowned and broke free from her grip with a gentle swat.
"My name is Reika. But before that… I was Sasuke," she replied coldly, bluntly.
Sakura held her breath. For a moment, it seemed like her world had stopped. Then, the tears began to flow, falling uncontrollably.
"W-why…? Why did you play with my feelings like that?!" she asked, sobbing.
Reika looked at her sternly. Her gaze as cold as her voice.
"I never asked you to fall in love with me, Sakura. And I certainly never gave you any reason to think I felt the same."
"I never played with your feelings."
She decided to be direct. She wasn't going to carry guilt that wasn't hers.
She clearly remembered the countless times she had been harsh with her, only to stop her from deluding herself into thinking they would ever be together. She never gave her hope. Never offered a kind word. Not once did she seek her company.
In fact, she always avoided her.
And yet, Sakura had obsessively clung to Sasuke.
How could that be her fault?
What Sakura felt was never love. It was blind obsession.
"You're… so cruel…" Sakura whispered, her voice broken by tears.
"If you'll excuse me," Reika said, turning around, "I'm busy. This isn't the best time to talk about this."
But…
"Wait a second!"
Reika had barely taken a few steps when Sakura's voice stopped her again.
"So that's it?! That's how it all ends?!"
Reika stopped, not turning around yet. Her hand remained on the hilt of her sword.
"What else do you expect me to say?"
"Something! Anything! A damn explanation!" Sakura shouted.
Reika sighed. She slowly turned around, and this time looked at her with an expression full of impatience and a hint of resignation.
"You're annoying. I don't need to give you any explanation," Reika answered coldly.
Finally, Reika turned away and left to help the others.
Meanwhile, Sakura remained there, motionless, staring at the ground, as tears slid silently down her face.
