"Kuchiyose: Edo Tensei!"
Orochimaru struck the ground with both hands.
Instantly, two coffins rose from the earth, covered in dust.
Orochimaru looked toward the stands, directly at Minato Namikaze, the Fourth Hokage of Konoha, and clicked his tongue in annoyance.
For years, Orochimaru had worked hard to obtain Minato's body after his death, but all that effort had been in vain.
Kabuto had informed him that someone had been secretly spying on him.
Kabuto had also recently told him about a three-pronged kunai he had found.
Orochimaru had thought at the time that it was Naruto, watching his actions from the shadows… until he checked Minato's coffin and discovered that his body had disappeared.
Now, seeing him standing there, alive, he understood why.
Minato being alive was not good news.
His chances of escaping Konoha unscathed after killing Sarutobi-sensei were drastically reduced.
Orochimaru glanced toward Hiruzen with a mocking smile.
When the coffins opened, Hiruzen could clearly see the reanimated First and Second Hokage: Hashirama and Tobirama Senju.
On the other side of Konoha, Naruto —in the middle of his confrontation with Danzō Shimura— received a system notification:
[Hashirama Senju has been temporarily removed from the chat group due to his resurrection via Edo Tensei.]
[Tobirama Senju has been temporarily removed from the chat group due to his resurrection via Edo Tensei.]
Naruto smiled. Hiruzen's end was near.
Meanwhile, back with Orochimaru and Hiruzen…
Hiruzen watched closely as Hashirama and Tobirama emerged from their coffins.
"SARU!" roared Hashirama.
"LITTLE MONKEY!" shouted Tobirama with the same intensity.
Both stared intently at Hiruzen, frowning, with clearly hostile intent.
Orochimaru observed them with a raised eyebrow, curious, his smile unshaken.
Hiruzen, sweating profusely, tried to maintain his composure.
"First Hokage-sama… master…" he greeted with difficulty.
"WHO DO YOU THINK YOU'RE CALLING MASTER!? YOU LOST THAT RIGHT, FOOL!" roared Tobirama, pointing at him.
Upon hearing that, Hiruzen frowned, glaring at Orochimaru.
"Do you really expect me to believe my master would say something like that? You have no respect for the dead, Orochimaru."
Orochimaru looked at the First and Second Hokage in surprise, smiling at Hiruzen's words.
But Orochimaru, astonished by the scene, couldn't help but smile even more.
"Sarutobi-sensei… it seems I'm not the only one who holds a grudge."
Contrary to what Hiruzen believed, Orochimaru wasn't controlling what the Hokage were saying—only their bodies.
Hiruzen was very wrong to think Tobirama's words were his doing.
Hashirama stared at Orochimaru. "Release me, I want to kill him with my own hands!" he exclaimed.
Then he paused, confused. "With my own hands? Hmm… what a strange déjà vu..."
Hashirama crossed his arms, thoughtful.
Tobirama looked at his older brother with blank eyes.
"You're not going to release him, are you?" sighed Tobirama, amused. "I'm starting to feel sorry for poor Madara..."
After hearing that, Hashirama clapped his fist into his palm as he remembered something.
"That was it! I killed Madara with my own hands! That's why it sounded familiar..."
Then, Hashirama looked at his younger brother with a mix of surprise and confusion. "Did you really feel sorry for Madara?"
Tobirama snorted in amusement. "Of course not."
Orochimaru watched the scene with a mix of curiosity and delight, while Hiruzen frowned, growing more and more irritated by what he perceived as mockery.
"I'm afraid I can't release him, First Hokage-sama," said Orochimaru with a polite smile.
"Huh? And why not?" replied Hashirama, confused. "I also want to kill Saru."
Hiruzen clenched his teeth tightly at that.
"Stop desecrating the honor of the First and Second Hokage, Orochimaru! They would never speak that way!"
Orochimaru was tempted to tell his master the truth, just to see him crumble upon realizing the Hokage were speaking for themselves, that he wasn't controlling them… and that they despised him.
Orochimaru was truly tempted.
"You were a terrible Hokage, little monkey!" thundered Tobirama. "It's time to hand the position to the next generation!"
"In the first place, you should never have given him the position, brother!" Hashirama reprimanded, turning to him.
"You're bringing that up now?! I told you I had no other choice at the time! The little monkey was my best student back then!"
"Then you shouldn't have died!" Hashirama declared, crossing his arms.
Tobirama looked at him like he was looking at an idiot.
But then Tobirama remembered his older brother was an idiot.
"..." Orochimaru watched all of this in silence, increasingly amused.
"Seems I can no longer access the chat group..." Tobirama muttered, noticing the system's absence, frowning.
"WHAT?! No way! I wanted to keep watching Naruto destroy Danzō over and over!" complained Hashirama.
"And Dan..." Tobirama recalled Dan Katō out loud.
The atmosphere grew heavier. Both fell silent at the mention of Dan Katō.
Over time, they had come to see him as family. They had hoped he could someday be with Tsunade… though they never missed a chance to tease him, saying he wasn't worthy of their granddaughter.
But deep down, they believed Dan was the kind of man she needed.
One who would love her despite her… complications.
Neither had been prepared to discover his betrayal.
Mito hadn't reacted much better than they had.
"I think it's time for you to be quiet," Orochimaru interrupted, stepping forward.
But Hashirama wasn't the kind to obey orders easily.
And even less the kind to stay quiet just because he was told to.
"Ugh, Naruto was right. Your tongue is… disturbing. How can it be so long?" he tried to take a step back, without success. "Ugh, I can't move properly..."
Due to the Edo Tensei, Hashirama and Tobirama didn't have full control over their bodies.
Tobirama, arms crossed, simply watched in silence.
Hearing Naruto's name come from Hashirama's mouth made both Orochimaru and Hiruzen pause for a second.
"So Naruto is your target, Orochimaru!?" Hiruzen shouted, misinterpreting the conversation.
Hiruzen still believed Orochimaru was mocking him by making the First and Second Hokage say all those things.
But hearing Naruto's name gave Hiruzen a bad feeling.
Could Orochimaru's real target not be Reika, but Naruto?
Orochimaru's thoughts, however, were very different.
"Naruto...?" Orochimaru repeated quietly.
Could that boy not only bring the dead back to life… but also communicate with them?
His interest in Naruto kept growing.
"How do you know Naruto...?" Orochimaru decided to ask them directly, completely ignoring his master.
Hiruzen watched all of this, confused. To him, it was as if his student were talking to himself.
"It's thanks to the chat group!" Hashirama told him with a smile.
Tobirama rolled his eyes and sighed.
But Orochimaru heard nothing but something incomprehensible.
"It's thanks to ██████████!" was what Orochimaru heard instead.
Orochimaru frowned.
"Tch..." Orochimaru clicked his tongue. It wouldn't be so easy to get answers.
He then turned his attention back to Hiruzen with a mocking expression.
"Can you imagine the satisfaction, Sarutobi-sensei?" said Orochimaru with a smile. "The joy of raising your hand against someone you once called master... I've prepared all of this so you can experience that same delight I feel."
He leaned slightly forward.
"I truly hope you appreciate my gesture… and enjoy it."
Hashirama and Tobirama's bodies began to move stiffly, like clumsy puppets, approaching Hiruzen.
Both Hashirama and Tobirama wore cocky smiles on their faces.
"Too bad we don't have all our power," Tobirama murmured, still moving forward.
"If we did, this fight would be terribly boring," Hashirama responded, amused.
Then, without warning, both shouted in unison:
"LET'S SEE WHAT THE SELF-PROCLAIMED STRONGEST HOKAGE OF KONOHA IS REALLY MADE OF!"
And with those words, they charged at Hiruzen, smiling as if they were enjoying every second of the chaos they were about to unleash.
