Danzō let out a strangled grunt as Kurama's colossal hand lifted him effortlessly into the air.
Half his body hung limp, crushed, destroyed.
From within Kurama, Naruto brought him closer to his face. Without a word, he extended his arm and tore Shisui's Mangekyō Sharingan from him.
His fingers plunged into the eye socket with brutal precision, digging mercilessly until the eye was ripped out.
Danzō screamed. Naruto didn't even flinch. He stared at him with the same expression one gives to a rock in the road.
"You'll be seeing Tobirama soon, your beloved teacher," he said coldly, impassively. "I hope you enjoy what he has prepared for you."
Danzō didn't respond. His eyes wandered, unfocused. Exhausted. Defeated.
He had done everything to escape. To survive. But Naruto had hunted him relentlessly, like an animal.
And he had made him suffer. Again and again. Each death. Every time he came back using Izanagi... each death hurt more than the last.
He glanced at his right arm.
The Sharingan eyes he had gathered after the Uchiha Clan massacre...
All dark. Lifeless. Powerless.
He could no longer rely on Izanagi.
"W-why do you want me dead...?" Danzō suddenly murmured, his voice broken.
Naruto looked at him with a raised eyebrow, slightly amused.
"If you have to ask... you're even dumber than I thought."
Then, Kurama closed his hand.
Danzō's body exploded with a wet crunch. Blood and remains oozed between the Nine-Tailed Fox's fingers.
Moments later, Kurama opened his hand, letting what remained of Danzō fall.
Only then did the Susanoo cloaking Kurama's colossal body vanish.
Little by little, the Golden Chakra forming the Nine-Tailed Fox also began to fade.
Naruto stood in silence, amid all the destruction, staring at what was left of Danzō.
There was no satisfaction. No sadness.
Only an empty gaze. Unchanging.
Because of his actions, death had always chased Danzō, trying to catch him.
Today, death had finally claimed him.
And what awaited him in the Pure World... was no warm welcome.
...
"The Little Monkey was trained by me... this was the obvious outcome, after all," muttered Tobirama, lying on the ground.
Half his body had completely disappeared.
"It's a shame we don't have our full strength... I hate that I was defeated by someone weaker than me," Hashirama added bitterly.
Both had been hit by an explosive tag, and the blast had torn off half their bodies.
Of course, something like that would never have happened — not even in their weakened state — if Orochimaru weren't controlling their movements.
If only they could use their real Taijutsu, their battle instincts, their experience... Hiruzen wouldn't have had the slightest chance.
Not even if he'd had a thousand years to prepare would he have been able to lay a finger on them.
Then, Hashirama's and Tobirama's bodies began regenerating rapidly, the "flesh" rebuilding itself at monstrous speed.
As soon as they were whole again, both stood up, their gazes fixed on Hiruzen like invisible blades.
Hiruzen frowned, noticing the hostility in their eyes.
"Do you feel it, Sarutobi-sensei?" said Orochimaru with a venomous smile. "They despise you. I find it curious, even amusing... but it's real. They hate you."
Hiruzen clicked his tongue and glared at Orochimaru with deep contempt.
"You... You're a disgrace, Orochimaru. I should have killed you when I had the chance."
Orochimaru let out a hoarse, mocking laugh.
"Kukuku~ You couldn't, even if you tried."
...
"WHAT the hell is going on?! Why did the Hokage Mansion suddenly explode?!"
Several Konoha ninjas, who were at that moment struggling to hold off the Giant Snakes summoned by the Hidden Sand Village under Orochimaru's command, turned sharply toward the source of the explosion.
The blast had shaken the ground violently, and some even lost their footing.
"Wait! The Council Elders, Homura and Koharu, were inside!"
"Weren't they supposed to be in the bunker, under protection with the others?!"
"This can't be happening...!"
"Dammit, someone confirm their status now!"
"Reports said the perimeter was secure! How did the barriers fail?!"
"There's no time to doubt! SOMEONE GO VERIFY IT RIGHT NOW!"
"And send a medical team! There might be survivors trapped in the rubble!"
"This is a disaster... if the Elders are dead, the command structure will collapse!"
Elsewhere, in what remained of the Hokage Mansion — now reduced to a pile of rubble — Naruto stared indifferently at the lifeless bodies of Homura Mitokado and Koharu Utatane.
The two elders lay crushed under the remains of the building, their faces frozen in a mix of surprise and fear.
How would the village react after losing Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage, and the three pillars of the old Konoha Council: Danzō, Homura, and Koharu?
Naruto didn't know. And frankly, he didn't care.
With Hiruzen and Danzō out of the picture, the Fire Daimyō would soon demand the appointment of a new Hokage.
And now the village had only two options for the position: Jiraiya or Tsunade.
Naruto was convinced Jiraiya would never accept that burden.
Which is why he knew the mission to find Tsunade and bring her back to the village was still underway.
And soon, she would return to Konoha.
What would happen when Tsunade learned that Naruto had brought back so many of the village's key figures?
Would she try to approach him... to beg him to revive Dan and Nawaki?
Naruto spat on the ground in disdain just thinking about it.
Dan...
Just saying the name made him feel sick.
Sooner or later, Tsunade would find out the truth. She'd learn what Dan had really been.
And though it was inevitable, Naruto was certain of one thing:
He had no intention of being the one to break the news.
Then, Naruto looked up at the sky and gave a brief smile, filled with nostalgia — but also with determination.
Bringing Tsunade back would be his second and last mission as a Konoha ninja.
But until then, as long as he wore the village's headband tied around his left arm, his duty was still to protect it.
Even if he hated the idea...
He slowly turned around, staring at the Giant Snakes towering menacingly over the rooftops.
The golden chakra of the Nine-Tails Chakra Mode burst around him again, enveloping him.
"I wonder what snake meat tastes like..." Naruto murmured indifferently, as if he weren't surrounded by destruction.
In his right hand, a Rasengan took shape with a sharp whistle.
In his left, the Chidori crackled like a thousand birds screaming.
A moment later, Naruto launched forward with brutal speed, leaving behind a blast of wind and dust.
The ninjas around him barely had time to react.
They could only watch, wide-eyed, as that golden figure tore across the battlefield like a living lightning bolt.
