Chapter 256 - Chapter 256: The Gods’ Reactions

Chapter 256: The Gods' Reactions

Seeing that he couldn't brush the matter aside, the Asura God had no choice but to cast a divine spell, sharing the scene he witnessed with the other God Kings.

In the City of Slaughter, Ye Cheng looked at Tang Chen before him. Now that he was certain the Asura God had no intention of passing down his divine position to Tang Chen, he immediately lost interest in him. At this point, Tang Chen had already been shaped into a near perfect vessel for the Asura God's power. Removing that influence wasn't impossible for Ye Cheng, but the cost was too high.

Tang Chen simply wasn't worth it.

Although he had the potential to ascend to godhood on his own, by the time that actually happened, Ye Cheng would have likely already developed an interstellar civilization and led Douluo Continent to the vastness of space. By then, an extra god or two wouldn't make a difference.

What Ye Cheng needed now was immediate god level combat power. Since Tang Chen couldn't inherit a divine position, he had no value.

Shaking his head, Ye Cheng turned to leave with the unconscious Bo Saixi. But the completely corrupted Tang Chen wouldn't just stand by and watch his "trophy" being taken away.

Without hesitation, he raised the Asura Blood Sword and slashed toward Ye Cheng.

This strike mobilized the full power of the City of Slaughter. The sky darkened, blood red lightning crackled and coiled around Tang Chen's body, boosting his power to an unprecedented level. The energy gathered in his sword had already reached the threshold of god slaying strength.

"Oh?"

Ye Cheng slightly tilted his head. His dark eyes immediately saw a high quality energy lingering around Tang Chen, assisting him in drawing upon the power of the City of Slaughter and amplifying his attack.

There was no doubt the Asura God had secretly intervened.

With centuries of accumulated power from the City of Slaughter supporting him, Tang Chen's strength was now on par with a First Class God. The Asura God's divine energy played a crucial role in this transformation.

For a mortal, even a mere sliver of a God King's power was an insurmountable force.

"Strange. Is he trying to kill me? Or is he testing the limits of a Divine Ring Master?" Ye Cheng's mind raced with possibilities. However, outwardly, he remained calm, unbothered.

At first glance, Ye Cheng, who had only just condensed his first divine ring, should have been no stronger than the lowest ranked divine officials of the Divine Realm. Facing Tang Chen's full powered strike seemingly on par with a First Class God he should have been doomed.

But strength wasn't determined by rank alone.

One had to consider factors such as the quality of their power, the strength of their innate abilities, the techniques they had mastered, and even their combat awareness and adaptability.

If Ye Cheng had been up against a real First Class God, he might have been in trouble.

But Tang Chen? He was nothing more than a mindless beast, wielding power that was chaotic, unrefined, and full of impurities.

Solving this problem was simple.

Raising his Feihong Sword, Ye Cheng executed a straightforward thrust.

A single strand of divine energy pierced through the void.

"Boom!"

The supposedly unstoppable Asura Blood Sword shattered like brittle paper under Ye Cheng's concentrated sword energy, disintegrating into nothingness.

Even in his frenzied state, Tang Chen was momentarily stunned.

His blood red, murky eyes stared blankly at his now empty hands, as if wondering, Where did my sword go?

"Impure and chaotic," Ye Cheng commented indifferently before turning away.

He walked over to the unconscious Bo Saixi, gently lifted her into his arms, and took a single step forward. Space rippled, and in the next instant, he disappeared without a trace.

Divine Realm

Watching as the Asura Blood Sword imbued with immense energy was so effortlessly destroyed, the Asura God's expression darkened.

"As expected," the Evil God remarked. "That sword was too impure, too unstable. Some of its energies even conflicted with each other."

"In contrast," the Good God added, "Ye Cheng's power is absolutely pure. It's like flawless jade transparent, untainted, and perfectly refined. A truly rare sight."

"If only his attributes aligned with mine, I'd love to pass my divine position on to him," the Good God mused. "Such purity, yet containing limitless potential… Even without the future Abyssal Invasion, Ye Cheng's achievements are already beyond measure."

"If he were to join the Divine Realm," the Goddess of Life agreed, "it might be like injecting fresh blood into our ranks. He could very well elevate the Divine Realm to a whole new level."

Both the God of Destruction and the Goddess of Life nodded in agreement.

Between the knowledge revealed in the mysterious Q&A and what they had now seen firsthand, all five God Kings had to admit Ye Cheng was an unparalleled genius.

In truth, Douluo Continent had held him back.

Had he been born in the Divine Realm, he might have already led them to an even greater height.

Meanwhile, in White Cloud City

Returning in an instant, Ye Cheng reappeared within his study, carrying Bo Saixi in his arms. Her pale complexion and weak breathing made it clear just how severe her injuries were.

With the full medical knowledge of Sun Zhongjing at his disposal, Ye Cheng quickly assessed her condition.

"The damage to her physical body and meridians isn't the main issue," he noted. "The real problem is this energy…"

His sharp gaze locked onto a blood red force coiled within Bo Saixi's body, actively obstructing her self recovery. Without expelling it first, no healing ability or soul technique would have any effect on her.

"Asura… What a ruthless move."

Ye Cheng instantly recognized the source of this energy it was Asura God's divine power.

So even she wasn't spared?

This only deepened his disgust toward the gods of the Divine Realm.

One day, he vowed, he would crush the Divine Realm beneath his feet and imprison those hypocritical gods every single one of them.

"Come!"

At his call, the door to the study opened.

A graceful figure stepped inside.

"Master, what are your orders?" The eldest of the five sisters, Yihua, entered without hesitation. But the moment she saw the bloodied woman in Ye Cheng's arms, she froze.

"Master… Who is this?"

After a brief pause, Yihua quickly regained her composure, curiosity flashing in her eyes.

"A poor woman who was wounded by evildoers," Ye Cheng replied dismissively. Then, he instructed, "Go to the Medicine King Hall and fetch some herbs. I'll be treating her with a medicinal bath."

"Understood."

Yihua didn't question further. She bowed respectfully and left to carry out his orders.

Meanwhile, at the Medicine King Hall, Ye Cheng's clone Sun Zhongjing had already begun preparing the necessary prescriptions. By the time Yihua arrived, the medicine would be ready for collection.
