Chapter 346 - Chapter 346: Father and Son at Odds?

Chapter 346: Father and Son at Odds?

After receiving the Abyss's blessing and gaining a seed of demonic power within his body, Tang Hao knew his next step he had to completely sacrifice his soul power as nourishment for this seed, allowing it to grow stronger. Once all his soul power was consumed and converted into demonic energy, his body would begin transforming into that of a demon.

This information had naturally appeared in his mind when his consciousness was drawn into that dark, mysterious place. Tang Hao speculated that it was the true Abyss itself. As for the elusive Abyss Sovereign, he had not even caught a glimpse. Clearly, he was not qualified.

When he opened his eyes, they had turned into a murky, blood red color. However, his demeanor remained unchanged. After all, he had always been a half madman receiving the Abyss's blessing wouldn't change that. A fool remains a fool, no matter what.

He examined the damaged White Bone Trident in his hand and felt a strong desire to claim it as his own. Since this artifact had granted him the Abyss's blessing, it was undoubtedly a treasure beyond ordinary demonic weapons perhaps even a Creation God tier weapon that had fallen here after the demise of a Demon Lord.

Yet, just as greed took hold of him, the White Bone Trident resisted. In that moment, Tang Hao understood the weapon had already chosen its master. Unless its wielder perished, no one else could take it.

A thought surfaced in his mind.

"Father, how do you feel?" At that moment, Tang San stepped forward eagerly. "You must have received the Abyss's blessing by now, right?"

"I have," Tang Hao replied with a smile. Tang San smiled as well.

But in the very next instant

Tang Hao's left hand suddenly summoned the Clear Sky Hammer. Without hesitation, he swung the massive black weapon at Tang San's chest.

"Boom!"

Caught completely off guard, Tang San was struck directly, his body sent flying like a ragdoll. The force shattered nearly all the bones in his chest.

"Crash!"

His bloodied body smashed into the surrounding wall, creating a large hole.

"…Father?"

If it were an ordinary person, they would have died instantly. But Tang San was still alive thanks to the Abyssal modifications his body had undergone. By now, over half of him had become demonic, granting him incredible resilience.

Coughing up blood, he stared at his father in shock, confusion filling his eyes.

"Have you been corrupted by the Abyss's power?!" He struggled to find an explanation for his father's sudden attack, grasping for a rational reason.

But Tang Hao had no interest in his reasoning.

Without a word, he approached, holding the Clear Sky Hammer in his left hand and the White Bone Trident in his right, ready to deliver the final blow.

Tang San, though not dead, was currently unable to fight back. However, this was only temporary. A demon's regenerative abilities were terrifying though his injuries were severe now, he would recover in no time. If he could consume a soul or fresh flesh, the process would be even faster.

Tang Hao, unaware of the extent of Tang San's demonic transformation, assumed that his son was barely clinging to life. Confident that his previous attack had left him on the verge of death, he stepped closer.

Looking down at his battered son, who was still desperately trying to justify his actions, Tang Hao spoke coldly:

"Corrupted? No. I've never been this clear headed."

"If you're not under the Abyss's influence, then why did you attack me?! I'm your only son!" Tang San roared, coughing up more blood with every word.

"Son?" Tang Hao's eyes darkened. "My son died a long time ago."

His gaze turned cold as he stared at the bloodied Tang San. Memories flooded his mind.

"You… what are you talking about?!"

Hearing those words, Tang San's heart trembled. Then, a horrible realization crept into his mind his past life, his reincarnation, the moment he arrived in this world.

"When I fought Spirit Hall's pursuers while holding my newborn son in my arms, the battle was fierce… so fierce." Tang Hao's expression was one of agony. "No matter how hard I tried to protect him, those assassins didn't hold back. I still remember… the shockwave from their attacks killed my son."

His eyes burned red, his face twisted with fury. Two sharp horns began sprouting from his head his growing rage fueling the demonic seed within him, accelerating its takeover of his body.

Tang San fell silent.

He, too, remembered.

His arrival in this world had not been through traditional reincarnation not a soul born anew in a mother's womb. He had taken over the body of a dead infant.

At the time, he hadn't understood. The vague memories he inherited made it seem as if he had simply been "born." But as his spiritual power grew, he realized those were not his own memories.

He had occupied this body after the original baby had already died. He was not reincarnated.

He was a parasite.

"When my son died, I lost my mind! I stopped caring about my injuries, trading blow for blow in a desperate battle!" Tang Hao's body began to change further dark scales spreading across his skin, his hands and legs morphing into demonic claws.

"The assassins saw my madness… and they ran!"

"When they were gone, I held my son's lifeless body and wept! Ah Yin was gone, and now my son had left me too! I even thought about using my hammer to end my own life!"

"But then "

"My son, who had stopped breathing, suddenly came back to life! I thought he had only been in a near death state and had miraculously recovered…"

A glimmer of joy crossed Tang Hao's face.

"But…"

Tang San's eyes twitched.

He knew this was it.

The moment of truth.
