[Return of the Prodigy Swordsmage]
-World Setting: Modern Sci-fi, Magic and Swords, A planet discerned from Earth but with similar background and recources. Name of planet is "Arta". Magics and Physical skills are no stranger to this world. Mages and Combatants are gathered under the name 'Ascendants'. Powers are bestowed in order to keep the Devils in check. In the future, war will be waged against the Devils. Guilds are created around the globe to execute their duties in their territory. Governments are also involved in the Ascendants Industry.
My background: Vivienne Eugene. Vivienne is a Noble Household linked to the government akin to a Minister. My parents are Hamilton and Celine. My only siblings are my sister, Roxanne. Exceptional talents are passed down in our genes from generations. According to the summarisation I've read, I am the Antagonist and rival of the main character. I am supposed to be temperamental. A genius adept at both magic and physical prowess that is supposed to be a hassle to the main character starting from the Academy until the end.

Quite a cliche background. Everything is within my expectations from the world setting to characters. Nothing is too out of the cliches. I can guess the plotline from the beginning to the end just based on the characters and summarisation.
This shouldn't be extraordinarily hard. I'm not reluctant to fail. If I ever come across a insurmountable challenge. I won't hesitate to kill myself.
With my first journal being wrote I decided to take it easy. For about 2 more years I am supposed to enroll in Immanuel Academy. Before that, I should be training under the Household Instructor.
Immanuel Academy is one of the leading institute in this Country, focusing on academics, magic and physical combat. The alumnus are naturally succesful figures in the Ascendants Industry from guilds to the government. The students enroll starting from 18 and go through 5 Semester before graduating.
As you can calculate, I am currently 16. It is not outside my expected guess.
Anyway, I closed my eyes and continued to sleep. Nothing is more soothing to our minds and bodies than sleeping. A well rest is needed in order to perform duties well.

While sleeping is a crucial action. I might love sleeping a little too much. The time is already closing evening. By the way, the time is exactly the same as the Earth. A 24-hour rotation of the moon around the planet and 365 days of our orbit of our planet with the star in the solar system. Almost everything is a bit too convenient.
I looked at the clock in my room that read '19:27'. I started sleeping at around 2 in the afternoon. This isn't good. Combined with my slumber before waking up this morning I might've slept around 10 hours today.
Welp. Not much could be done. I'm not the type to be so hung up on this small things.
I woke up to wash my face and went for dinner.
In this house dinner is served at 7 in the evening. Breakfast at 8:30 in the morning and lunch at 2 in the afternoon. I gathered that info from a quick question with a butler earlier today.
I am a bit late for the dinner but it is nothing too serious. I walked through the door and my family are gathered already. I also noticed Gwen seated beside my sister.
After helping myself. My father looked at me oddly and asked.
"Did you just woke up?"
I nodded. This behaviour might be out of touch with the original Eugene but I couldn't be bothered much. I'm not too stuck up to follow his routine and behaviour.
"That should not be too healthy. You will not be able to sleep at night."
My mother added.
"I'm still a bit tired so I should be able to."
Questionable face plastered on their faces. Indeed. Being tired after just sleeping is not normal.
I continued to eat when I noticed my sister whispering something to Gwen. Then my sister spoke.
"Since when did you become so lethargic. Aren't you always diligent and trained from morning to night?"
"What's wrong with being complacent once in a while?"
My sister looked baffled but decided to put it aside.
Gwen beside her didn't look too much bothered.
"Eugene, Gwen here excel in her academics. Since she will be frequently visit our house, try to ask her to tutor you sometimes. She agreed to when I ask her earlier. It will help for your entrance exam to the Academy."
My mom said.
I glanced at Gwen and exchanged look with her. Indeed, she looked welcoming to the idea.
"I'm not reluctant about it. But I'll decide when do I want the tutoring."
"That's good then. I know you are preparing yourself well. But help from someone else is always needed."
I nodded obediently.
"You heard that Gwen? He acceoted your tutoring. You should be prepared to face his temper. Please be patient when guiding my brother because he is not that bright when studying."
My sister said to Gwen.
Gwen smiled subtly as a reply to my sister sarcasm.
I glanced at my sister briefly before continuing to look at my food and savour my foods. I don't know what the original Eugene would've replied but even I myself are a bit irritated by her comments. Pursuing this matter doesn't seem too smart so as a rebellious reply I quickly finished my food and walked away.
"See? He has quite the temper."
My sister added as I walked away to which Gwen chuckled a bit.
Eugene and her sister are known to have quite an odd relationship with her sister frequently teasing him.
However, as a 20 year-old mentally guy I can't be bothered that much although the treatment was a bit too awkward for me.
As soon as I went back to my room I looked around for a bit to see what things Eugene kept in his room.
Study table was located adjacently to the bed with a bookshelf beside it. Wardrobe parrallel to the door and close to the bathroom. Other than that, a few decorations here and there.
I looked through the bookshelf. Books related to his academics filled the bookshelf with a few novels among them.
To gather knowledge and information, I read through a few of the books regarding the academic.
Mathematics, Language, Sciences.
Right. The language I've been using are actually unknown to me. It just came naturally.
The Mathematics syllabus that I just went through are well below my level. It was the same with Sciences. Physics, Biology and Chemistry are gathered in one subject.
As a Chemistry major, Chemistry for the syllabus are a dog walk for me. The same could be said for physics and biology. I studied them before majoring in Chemistry and the syllabus here is low.
Mathematics? Also nothing too crazy. As I actually considered majoring in Engineering before, mathematics was one of the subjects that I pushed. Calculus I is well within my knowledge. To compare, the hardest topic of mathematics I just read is like introduction to Pre-calculus.
The catch is. All of the books were from the elementary academy. An academy for students from age 10-14. So it could be said that later in Immanuel Academy, syllabus will be higher.
But that's 2 years away. And the early years should be easy for me anyway.
Done with academics. I pondered about magic and physical prowess. That would be my biggest challenge here. I have no knowledge of them beside shit I've read in novels. But just blindly seeing them use magic and actually applying it is different.
And so I read through a few books especially focusing on Introduction to Magic. Luckily there was this book so it could help me understand better.
Today's goal: Finish the whole syllabus of elementary Magic.
