Chapter 303: Come, Tang Xiao, You Kill Tang Hao
There was no doubt Han Li was doing this on purpose.
Throughout his entire conversation with Tang San, Han Li had been intensely monitoring Xiao Wu with his spiritual power, completely immobilizing her.
Otherwise, given Xiao Wu's feelings for Tang San, she might have already rushed out, screaming about love, bonds, and her "Invincible Golden Body" to buy time for Tang Xiao to escape with Tang San.
At the very least, she still had her Sacrifice ability. Although Han Li was there, making success impossible, Xiao Wu herself didn't know that.
Han Li had been keeping her locked down for exactly this reason. He wasn't afraid of her sacrificing herself to Tang San he was afraid that she might target him with her sacrifice instead.
In reality, the greatest threat to him at this moment was none other than Xiao Wu. A single moment of inattention, and if her Sacrifice activated, he would be forcefully locked in place. At his current level, he still couldn't completely resist the rules of such an ability.
Matching Han Li's movements was none other than Tang Xiao, who stood beside Tang San. The distance was too close he couldn't ignore what was happening even if he wanted to.
Unlike Tang San and the others, behind Xiao Wu was a clear mark of a true soul beast in human form a massive pink rabbit spirit projection.
This was something no Titled Douluo present could possibly overlook.
Tang Hao, is this the "foolproof plan" you assured me of?
Tang Xiao felt like his mind was about to crack.
From the moment Tang San started talking about the so called Haotian Secret Technique, Tang Xiao already sensed that things were about to go south. Not to mention, that very same "Haotian Secret Technique" had just recently been officially implemented in the Clear Sky Sect under his endorsement.
Tang San had been waiting for Han Li to finish speaking, but he suddenly noticed that Han Li had gone silent, shifting his gaze to the side.
A bad feeling crept up his spine as he instinctively turned his head only to see Xiao Wu trembling uncontrollably.
"Tang San, how do you explain this?"
Han Li's cold voice reached his ears.
"What?"
Tang San responded reflexively, his mind struggling to process the situation.
"You're not going to tell me that this ten thousand year rabbit was also part of your father and son research, are you?"
Tang San's mind exploded. His throat felt dry as he stiffly turned toward the girl beside him.
Ten thousand year... rabbit?
Xiao Wu... is actually a transformed soul beast?!
"As far as I know, you two are lovers, aren't you? You've been together since your days at Nuoding Academy. It's been nearly ten years now, hasn't it?"
Han Li's voice was as soft as a devil's whisper, yet it filled the hearts of those present with a surge of anger and a sense of absurdity.
So they had all been deceived?
Some had even started questioning whether Spirit Hall had fabricated the entire scheme to frame the Clear Sky Sect, but now it was clear Tang Hao and his son were completely untrustworthy.
"I… I didn't know. I really didn't know."
Tang San subconsciously released Xiao Wu's hand and took two steps back, only stopping when he bumped into Tang Xiao. His mind reeled as memories flashed by how Xiao Wu had acted strangely whenever they hunted soul beasts… how he had never once seen her absorb a spirit ring.
His spiritual power hadn't been high enough to uncover Xiao Wu's true identity before, but now the answer was painfully clear.
"Brother…"
Xiao Wu stared blankly at her suddenly empty hand. She watched Tang San's instinctive retreat, and a trace of sorrow flickered through her eyes.
In the end… he still couldn't accept her true identity, could he?
As for the supposed "soul beast senior" who had been hiding her aura, there was no need to seek them out anymore.
The moment Tang Hao revealed his spirit rings, Xiao Wu had already sensed a familiar presence among them.
So, they had known about me all along?
Was I meant to be Tang San's spirit ring all along?
It suddenly made sense. The first time she saw that man Han Li was when she had been preparing to leave Tang San.
But…
Tang San didn't know, did he?
She glanced at Tang San again, as if trying to memorize his face. Seeing him still frozen in shock, Xiao Wu smiled faintly, took a deep breath, and stepped forward.
She lifted her head and met Han Li's gaze in midair.
"I have nothing to do with him, Your Highness. You need not concern yourself. He was merely a tool I used to blend into human society. Had I known he would bring this much trouble, I would have left long ago."
"I came to Spirit City for only one reason revenge."
" Bibi Dong."
Her gaze locked onto the Supreme Pontiff in the stands, eyes filled with bitter hatred.
"Oh? So there's another story here?"
Han Li turned slightly, looking toward Bibi Dong.
"So it's you… the little rabbit who escaped back then," Bibi Dong muttered, her voice cold as she glanced at Xiao Wu.
She snorted dismissively, showing no visible emotion, but her words nonetheless confirmed Xiao Wu's identity.
"So, are you just eager to die?"
Han Li arched a brow and looked at Xiao Wu.
"No. It's just that we soul beasts are not as hypocritical as you humans. If you want to kill me, just do it. Why come up with an excuse?"
Xiao Wu shook her head and sneered at Han Li.
She knew that if she wanted to protect Tang San, she had to sever any ties with him.
"Hmm, fair enough. In that case let me send you on your way."
Han Li chuckled indifferently.
He extended his right hand, and a massive energy hand reached toward Xiao Wu.
Dragon Capturing Hand how convenient for moments like these.
Facing the incoming attack, Xiao Wu instinctively wanted to dodge but forcibly suppressed her instincts and stood her ground.
Brother, if there is a next life, I hope we can meet again.
She closed her eyes.
A gust of wind brushed past her face, followed by a surge of intense soul power. Yet, she was neither captured nor killed as she had expected.
She opened her eyes.
A familiar figure appeared in front of her Tang San, gripping the Haotian Hammer in his left hand, had blocked the soul power attack from above.
"Xiao Wu, I promised you no matter who it is, if they want to touch you, they'll have to step over my dead body first."
Tang San didn't turn around. His voice trembled slightly, but his tone was unwavering.
The moment Han Li's hand reached down, his body had moved on its own.
At this moment, the idea of Xiao Wu being a soul beast didn't even cross his mind he only knew that he had to act.
But even though he had managed to block Han Li's casual attack, the strain was immense. His left hand, gripping the Haotian Hammer, had split open at the tiger's mouth, his palm covered in blood.
"Brother."
Xiao Wu's eyes welled up instantly. She rushed behind Tang San and hugged him tightly.
At this moment, she felt happy. But she also knew this was the end of the road for them.
Han Li did not attack again.
The outcome he wanted had already been achieved.
The entire arena fell into silence.
Everyone watched the two embrace, and in that moment, there was no longer any need for explanations no one would believe anything else now.
"Hahahahaha!"
Beside Han Li, Tang Hao suddenly burst into laughter.
He laughed so hard that tears streamed down his face, blurring his vision. Even though blood gushed from his mouth, he couldn't stop.
Han Li glanced at him. If you like laughing so much, then keep laughing.
"Tang Xiao, the secret technique of your sect truly has astonishing effects."
Han Li ignored Tang Hao and instead turned his gaze toward Tang Xiao, whose face had turned ashen.
Tang Hao's laughter abruptly stopped.
Tang Xiao suddenly felt every gaze in the arena lock onto him.
He had hesitated for just a moment just long enough for Tang San to rush out and now the consequences were before him.
He didn't look at Tang Hao.
He closed his eyes for a brief moment before opening them again, his expression now composed.
"Tang Hao was expelled from the Haotian Sect more than ten years ago. He has long ceased to be a member of our sect. The secret technique he and his son developed has nothing to do with the Haotian Sect."
"I came here today precisely because of this matter. The Haotian Sect's honor cannot be tarnished by traitors. I came to capture Tang Hao and Tang San to fulfill the promise made years ago."
"Oh, I see. Sect Master Tang Xiao, you truly understand righteousness. Sacrificing personal ties for justice an example for us all."
Han Li put on an expression of sudden realization, but everyone could tell he didn't believe a word of it.
No one did.
"Since Sect Master Tang is already here, why not make yourself useful? You came all this way might as well do something."
Han Li smiled slightly.
The arrows piercing Tang Hao's body stopped. The two fallen spirit bones floated into Han Li's hands, and with a casual kick, he sent Tang Hao flying toward Tang Xiao.
"Sect Master Tang, go ahead kill him. If you personally execute Tang Hao, I can represent Spirit Hall and agree to stop pursuing this matter. The Haotian Sect will also no longer have to remain sealed off. What do you say?"
Tang Hao never hit the ground Tang San caught him first.
Both father and son turned toward Han Li, their eyes burning with hatred.
The entire arena fell into dead silence.
Even the sound of breathing seemed to halt for a moment.
Han Li's words were simply too shocking.
Forcing an older brother to personally execute his younger brother who else but Han Li could say such a thing so casually?
Yet, upon further thought… it didn't seem entirely unreasonable.
Tang Hao and Tang San had already been proven to have ties to transformed soul beasts. Tang Hao had even killed the former Supreme Pontiff. From a major faction's perspective, Han Li's method of handling this was already considered merciful.
Tang Xiao's expression stiffened as he looked at his younger brother and nephew.
For just a moment he was actually tempted.
But the very next second, he snapped back to reality.
If he really did this, the Haotian Sect would be finished for good.
Remaining sealed off might actually be a form of protection for them at this point.
Because he could already foresee it under his orders, at least one third of the sect had already undergone bone replacement.
Spirit Hall would never let such an opportunity slip by.
"Saint Son Han, isn't this a bit too much? Even if he was expelled, he is still my younger brother."
Tang Xiao struggled to maintain the dignity of a sect master.
"Oh? So you're unwilling?"
Han Li's expression turned dangerous as he locked eyes with Tang Xiao.
"Then can I assume that the Haotian Sect has never truly severed ties with Tang Hao over these past ten years?"
"And more than that I have good reason to suspect that this so called 'Haotian Secret Technique' is nothing but a facade. A cover up to disguise a deeper agreement between the Haotian Sect and soul beasts."
"Otherwise explain this to me: ten thousand year soul beasts are already incredibly rare. How is it that in just a few decades, both Tang Hao and his son coincidentally fell in love with transformed soul beasts?"
At this, Han Li paused momentarily, then pointed toward Dai Mubai and Tai Long.
"And furthermore why do they have the same aura as transformed soul beasts? Is the Haotian Sect replacing human bloodlines with those of soul beasts?"
"Come, Tang Xiao answer me."
