Chapter 314: First of All, Di Tian, I Am the True Master of This Plane
As Di Tian examined Han Li, Han Li was also studying this so called Beast God, the strongest of the Continent's Ten Great Ferocious Beasts.
He appeared faster than expected or at least, quicker than Han Li had anticipated.
Could it be because he lost the Sky Dream Iceworm, thus depriving him of the pleasure of devouring soul beasts' essence? Or perhaps, the sudden surge of cultivation among humans had made him anxious and irritable?
Han Li speculated internally, but didn't voice his thoughts.
After all, these two so called guardians Da Ming and Er Ming had never even been in contact with Di Tian. From any perspective, Di Tian didn't seem like the type to avenge them.
And judging from how he only attempted a single attack before shifting his focus to Qian Daoliu, it was clear that he wasn't truly enraged over their capture.
Surely, he wasn't simply putting on a show for pride's sake, right?
What Han Li didn't realize was that, from the moment Di Tian saw his soul rings, his heart skipped a beat.
Han Li's seventh and eighth soul rings, though deliberately dimmed, still carried a distinct golden glow that was particularly striking in Di Tian's eyes.
And with six scarlet soul rings before them, Di Tian with his vast experience could immediately link this to God Trials.
Now, he was trapped in a dilemma.
Other soul beasts might not understand, but he certainly did.
Though called the Beast God, Di Tian had always prided himself as a divine beast. In truth, he was a Black Dragon, one born with the potential for godhood he simply hadn't ascended yet.
I was careless.
That was Di Tian's current thought process.
Due to Qian Daoliu's presence, Di Tian had instinctively overlooked Han Li.
Even though Han Li had been the one to strike first, Di Tian's attention had always been on Qian Daoliu.
After all, he had been inside the lake's hidden space, and when he sensed the commotion outside, his first instinct was to lock onto the strongest individual which was naturally Qian Daoliu.
He knew about Spirit Hall.
As the inheritor of the Angel God's legacy, it was something he had monitored while exploring Douluo Star.
But he wasn't afraid of them not in the slightest.
The Angel God was long gone, leaving only a mere inheritance behind.
Frankly, even if he killed Qian Daoliu right now, the Divine Realm wouldn't notice, nor would they care.
Not that he ever bothered with such things he found it beneath him.
However, the recent information brought back by the Myriad Demon King had filled him with rage.
After all, the source of the new cultivation method was Spirit Hall.
According to his calculations, his Master would awaken in a year to assess the situation.
So, he had originally planned to endure to hold back his fury until his Master's revival, at which point he would follow orders.
After all, what was a single year?
No matter how quickly humans advanced, soul beasts wouldn't be affected in such a short time.
And as the undisputed ruler of this world, he was confident that once his Master gave the order, he would wipe out all obstacles with ease.
Yet, to his complete surprise, Spirit Hall had now invaded his territory.
Not only that, but this wasn't some ordinary soul ring hunt they had come fully prepared, with immense power at their disposal.
And worst of all?
Right under his nose, they stole two ten thousand year soul beasts.
Even if he didn't recognize them as subordinates, it was still a blatant provocation.
This could not be tolerated.
And so, he emerged from hiding, intending at the very least to issue a warning.
In his mind, he was thinking:
In a year's time, I'll kill all of you.
But then, he encountered Han Li.
And now, despite radiating killing intent, he didn't dare act rashly.
For one simple reason Han Li had stopped suppressing his aura.
And from his body, Di Tian could smell the presence of divine power.
Because of his sacrificial rituals, Han Li had cleansed all residual godly energy from his body.
Even at the Ice Fire Yin Yang Well, he had used Faith Energy as a filter, ensuring that Di Tian could only sense divine power but couldn't determine its source.
Should I kill him?
Or negotiate?
Di Tian's mind raced.
The Spirit Hall forces were indeed strong, but not overwhelming.
If they fought, he was confident he could slaughter them all.
But at the same time, his own side would suffer heavy casualties perhaps only he would survive.
And after all the effort he had put into gathering powerful subordinates, he was hesitant to throw them away so recklessly.
But the most crucial issue was this
If he killed Han Li, would the god backing him seek retribution?
He couldn't say for sure.
And that uncertainty terrified him.
If he alone was exposed, he could accept dying for it.
But if his Master was discovered, then the great ambition of reviving the soul beast race would be utterly ruined.
And that was unacceptable.
Han Li, observing Di Tian's shifting expressions, nearly burst out laughing.
Dude… just say something already!
This awkward silence was getting embarrassing.
Even the ferocious beasts behind Di Tian looked confused they didn't understand why their leader had suddenly gone silent.
"Ahem."
A soft cough broke the deadlock.
Di Tian snapped out of his thoughts, realizing that he had yet to respond.
"...There's nothing to discuss with you "
Di Tian instinctively prepared to refuse, but halfway through his sentence, he abruptly cut himself off. His pupils shrank as he looked at Han Li with uncertainty and suspicion. It was only now that he realized the young man had directly addressed him by name. And Qian Daoliu, whom he had been keeping an eye on, seemed to be nothing more than a bodyguard. Instead, this kid appeared to hold true authority.
This wasn't a coincidental encounter they had come prepared. More than that, it seemed like their target was him.
"Hmph. Fine, let's hear what you have to say."
Di Tian forcefully changed his tone. He didn't care about something as trivial as saving face. Soul beasts were known for their patience cough, rather, for their straightforwardness.
"Just like that? Is this the right setting?"
Han Li, relieved that Di Tian had finally spoken, cast his gaze toward the other great beasts standing behind him.
Di Tian's brow furrowed slightly. He hated cryptic talk, but considering the current situation, he had no choice but to endure it.
"Stand down."
Di Tian's command was directed at everyone except Han Li and himself a clear test.
If Han Li refused, there would be no need to continue this discussion.
"Fine. Master, Senior Uncles, wait for me further away."
Han Li turned naturally, looking at the elders behind him as if he had no defenses at all. Of course, that was impossible. His sixth spirit ability, Evil God's Protection, was ready to activate at any moment, and he was fully prepared to enter elemental form instantly.
As for why he didn't want the others to hear this conversation? It wasn't about trust. The elders would soon undergo their divine trials he didn't want all his efforts in hiding from the Divine Realm's gaze to be wasted over a minor detail.
As for simply making contact with Di Tian? That didn't matter. With Xuantian Technique as an excuse, the Divine Realm would only assume that Han Li was intimidating the soul beasts, which was the whole reason for this operation.
"Alright."
The elders of the Hall of Worship glanced at Qian Daoliu in the sky. Seeing him nod, they slowly retreated but their eyes remained locked on the great beasts doing the same on the opposite side.
Both sides were wary, but no one extended their spiritual senses toward Han Li and Di Tian. They all understood the unspoken rules.
Once both sides had withdrawn a safe distance, Han Li finally returned his gaze to Di Tian, who was also looking at him.
"I am the Master of this Plane. How is the Silver Dragon King doing?"
Han Li smiled as he spoke, but to Di Tian, his words exploded like thunder, shaking his very soul.
If Han Li had only said the second half of that sentence, Di Tian would have crushed him on the spot.
But with the first half included, his heart went ice cold.
Di Tian understood perfectly what a Plane Master was.
But how could Douluo Star possibly have a Master of the Plane? This world was directly overseen by the Divine Realm. For various reasons, it was impossible for a Plane's Will to even exist here, let alone produce a Master of the Plane.
This human is lying.
That was Di Tian's first reaction.
Then, in an instant, he felt the laws of tribulation lightning lock onto him from the void.
His mind cleared instantly this couldn't be fake.
It was real.
His mouth suddenly felt dry.
Han Li was very pleased with Di Tian's reaction. Truth be told, he was mostly bluffing he couldn't actually summon tribulation lightning.
But simply letting Di Tian sense its presence?
That was enough.
"What happened? How did you become the Master of the Plane? And what do you intend to do?"
Di Tian's expression darkened.
Seizing control of the Douluo Plane, turning it into a paradise for soul beasts, had been a critical step in his and his Master's grand plan.
But before they even had the chance to act, someone had already appeared before him, claiming to be the rightful Master of the Plane.
And the worst part?
This person reeked of divine power.
What the hell is going on?!
"I know you're in a hurry but don't be."
Yes, yes. This is the reaction I was expecting.
Han Li smiled as he reassured him.
"First, let me make one thing clear as the Master of the Plane, I have no hostility toward you."
The moment Han Li finished speaking, he heard Di Tian scoff coldly.
"You kidnapped two hundred thousand year soul beasts right in front of me, and Xuantian Technique originated from Spirit Hall. And now you tell me you mean no harm?"
There was killing intent in his voice, but it was clear he was holding back.
"You see? You're getting all worked up again."
Han Li was equally displeased at being interrupted.
No wonder soul beasts kept getting tricked into relationships, sacrifice rituals, or even babysitting human children.
With tempers like this, no wonder they always lost.
Di Tian took a deep breath, fighting the urge to tear Han Li apart with Dragon God's Claw.
Everything for the Master. Everything for the soul beast race.
He forced himself to calm down.
"I need more information."
"First, let's establish a fact I was born as the Master of the Plane."
Han Li's voice rang out calmly.
