Chapter 284: Remembering the Grace of the Sea God

Yang Feng smiled and said, "I participated in a secret mission, so I was able to come home early." After saying this, he told his father about Huo Yuhao's miraculous feat of granting soul power to ordinary people and mentioned that Huo Yuhao wished to discuss certain matters with the leaders of the Four Great Clans.

Yang's father was momentarily stunned. He had recognized Huo Yuhao from the very beginning. After all, Huo Yuhao was the champion of the previous Continental Soul Master Tournament, bringing immense glory to the Sun Moon Empire. Even within the empire, he had become a household name.

Yet despite this, Yang's father found it hard to believe his son's words. The idea of granting soul power to ordinary people sounded far too fantastical. It wasn't that no one had ever tried before many had, but they all failed.

Seeing his father's skepticism, Yang Feng couldn't hold back any longer. He summoned his Breaking Soul Spear and infused it with soul power, thrusting it sharply to the right. Instantly, a sharp sonic boom erupted in the air.

"This…" Yang's father stood frozen, his gaze vacant, as if he had fallen into a dream. He had always longed to restore the Po Clan's former glory, but their inability to produce a single soul master had left them in decline. In a world dominated by soul masters, even becoming a soul engineer required one to first be a soul master. A clan without soul masters could never rise again. The power gap between soul masters and ordinary people was simply too vast.

But the technique his son had just executed was one of their ancestral spear techniques one that could not be performed without soul power. Did this mean the so called curse had been broken?

A smile spread across his face. "It seems our four clans finally have a chance to rise again."

As long as they could cultivate soul power, the Four Great Clans would undoubtedly regain their former prominence. Their martial souls were already superior to those of most soul masters. Compared to rare soul powers like the Clear Sky Hammer or Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon, their bloodlines still held incredible potential.

He looked at Huo Yuhao with deep gratitude. "Lord Huo, thank you for granting my son soul power. I will immediately send word to the other three families. Please wait a moment."

He swiftly dispatched messengers to the Bai, Tai, and Niu families, summoning their patriarchs to the Yang residence. Before long, all four clan leaders had gathered, and Huo Yuhao had a friendly discussion with them. The main topic was simple he would grant soul power to all members of their clans, but in return, they had to pledge their allegiance to him.

Without hesitation, the four clan leaders agreed, swearing their loyalty to Huo Yuhao.

After all, they had once basked in glory, and none of them wished to remain mere commoners forever. If they wanted their families to become great clans once more, they needed power. Strength ruled this world, and only by becoming soul masters and wielding soul tools could they rewrite their fates.

Meanwhile, in the Sun Moon Imperial Palace, Xu Tianran had just received the news from Juzi about Huo Yuhao's feat. He praised, "Huo Yuhao truly is a genius. Even the royal family has failed to solve this issue for generations, yet he has done it. If I had him on my side, my path to the throne would be even more certain. Don't you agree, Juzi?"

Juzi nodded. "Your Highness is absolutely correct. Now that I have a good relationship with Huo Yuhao, I can persuade him to teach me this method. Then, I can implement it in the military, allowing all ordinary soldiers to gain soul power and strengthening the empire as a whole."

Since Huo Yuhao had entrusted her with certain responsibilities within the Spirit Pagoda, she saw no reason to hide this from Xu Tianran.

After all, there were times when the Spirit Pagoda needed to leverage Xu Tianran's authority to push forward with certain initiatives. Unlike spreading soul spirits, granting soul power to the military was far from a discreet matter.

Most of the Sun Moon Empire's army was composed of ordinary people soul masters and soul engineers were the minority.

Xu Tianran was a man who thrived on drawing people into his faction to bolster his power. In public, he always maintained a warm and approachable demeanor. To many, he was the undisputed candidate for the throne.

Only within the imperial family itself was he disliked. Many nobles believed the Third Prince was the most suitable heir.

Xu Tianran asked, "Are you doing this for revenge, or to strengthen my forces and secure my claim to the throne?"

Juzi bowed her head and answered, "Both. I wish to take revenge, but I also wish to aid Your Highness in ascending to the throne."

"Good." Xu Tianran was satisfied. "Proceed with it. If you require any resources, just tell me I can allocate them from the national treasury."

"Thank you, Your Highness."

Meanwhile, on Sea God's Island…

The Sea God Douluo hovered at the island's edge, addressing a gathering of sea soul beasts that he and his kin had personally captured. Speaking in the ancient language of beasts, he preached, "Why should we be grateful to the Sea God? Why should we revere Lord Tang San? I know many of you still have doubts."

"Those who do not worship the Sea God inevitably suffer misfortune. Without the Sea God's blessing, they are left vulnerable. Only those who devote themselves to him can receive his divine protection."

"Furthermore, everything we have our very existence is granted by the Sea God. We must remember to repay his kindness…"

From the water's surface, Bai Xiu Xiu emerged, listening with exasperation to the Sea God Douluo's sermon. She didn't understand what had happened to him recently. Normally, he was a rather composed figure, yet lately, he had been spreading Tang San's gospel at every opportunity, as if he wouldn't rest until the Sea God was worshipped by all.

"Mother," Bai Xiu Xiu turned to her mother, Xiao Bai, puzzled. "Why is the Sea God Douluo saying all this? Isn't he a descendant of the First Sea God? Shouldn't he be talking about the great deeds of the first Sea God instead?"

From a young age, she had been taught that the First Sea God was the truly great one. He had pacified the seas. Tang San, though powerful, could not compare.

Xiao Bai used a special technique to ensure their conversation remained private before responding in a hushed voice. "Xiu Xiu, the current Sea God is Tang San. Naturally, the Sea God Douluo must sing his praises. The deeds of the First Sea God are a thing of the past. You must not speak of this outside. The Sea God Douluo would not be doing this without Tang San's approval."

Bai Xiu Xiu gave a small nod.

For days now, the Sea God Douluo had been brainwashing captured sea soul beasts, forcing them to believe in Tang San. If any sea beast refused, it would be beaten and subjected to further indoctrination until it finally submitted. Only after proving its faith was it allowed to leave.

Bai Xiu Xiu found this deeply unsettling.

That elder who claimed to be connected to the Dragon God seemed far more trustworthy. At the very least, he wouldn't resort to such terrifying methods.
