Ji Wei hurriedly put down her book and stood up, walking towards her.
As she moved, Happy and Milk also followed suit, surrounding Xia Duoduo.
It was Happy's first time meeting Duoduo, and in its excitement, it began biting at the hem of her jeans. Xia Duoduo, however, seemed oblivious, anxiously grabbing Ji Wei's hand and asking, "Is the Great Demon King upstairs? Is he feeling any better?"
Ji Wei looked slightly surprised. "Duoduo, did you not see the message I sent you?"
"I borrowed the crew's car and drove back myself. I didn't have time to check my phone on the way back." Xia Duoduo spoke between breaths, her eyes filled with worry.
"Mr. Ye went back," Ji Wei said. "We couldn't get him to stay."
Upon hearing this, Xia Duoduo immediately turned around to leave, but Ji Wei stopped her: "Duoduo, there's something I need to tell you."
"Sit down first," Ji Wei said, pulling her to the sofa and seating her.
